47 Mti Power Boats Storm Haulover Inlet! | Mti Fun Run 2020!
Very gloomy Thursday with some light showers at Haulover Inlet. Eventually the rain settled and the Mti Owners Fun Run 2020 was underway! It's always a blast watching 40 + power boats ripping through an inlet. I wanna give thanks to all the Mti owners who reached out to us requesting coverage of the event. Our network's reach blows my mind sometimes. You guys are the real mvp's!

I end up doing work in $2-7 million dollar houses with regularity. Normally I'm not impressed with anything money buys anymore. But. I'll make an exception here. Whether or not these are rich snobs is beside the point. These are just magnificent watercraft and I love watching them shred chop.

Those are the type of boats I was waiting for when I met you out there. I did see that Stu Jones over at Florida Power Boat Club has more coverage up. BTW the specs on the big Green boat are very impressive. Look it up.

These Cats are actually quite a bit more efficient though, at least the outboards. Even at high speeds they may be getting 2 mpg

MTI is building a 440 now. They may also be in collab with Merc to build more powerful o/bs, maybe 525-550hp. I think Randy is looking for a 140mph outboard cat. He'll sell a TON of those b/c his customers are always looking for bigger better and faster.

@@kevinfunk83 What's your idea of "sustainable mph"?? It can't be sails because when the wind stops the boat stops(unless it has an engine of some kind). So how do you get constant mph??

@@dieseldog00 “sustainable” as in you can run at high rpm for longer. Not constant which would be forever. O/bs provide much more sustainable mph so it’s no wonder ppl are looking for a 440 now with a new Merc o/b to propel it.

@@kevinfunk83 "High rpm for longer". To me that means turbines which are my fav big power engine. They are so versatile powerful and long-lasting. The thrill of my life was watching QATAR set the record at LOTO which will likely never be broken. The downside is they cost huge money to repair. Mother Merc said there would be two o/b models coming out; the 600 and the smaller lighter 500. Maybe the 500 will be for the MTI 34 up to the 440. I'm sure we will see what drives the 440 when the boat comes out next year. I think it may come down to boat weight...

A lot of racers don't think so. There are Skater cats dominating almost every multihull bracket for the last 30-40 years and they still dominate. Peter Hledin knows how to build raceboats.

Each to there own, but I don’t see the point of these cats and racing monohulls, ok so they are fast but that’s it, Center consoles though, that’s more like it, I like getting to beach or cove and chilling eating swimming.

I agree with you if I won the lottery I wouldn't buy one of them! I would love to have one of the Alaskan type fishing boats with a nice cabin. To each his own style I guess it is like having a sports car ?

That Cats are about speed and lots of it. Go check out videos on Lake Havasu Desert Storm Poker run. You might get it. And Yes the center consoles are great. they have come a long way in recent years.

Alabama Smokey Wilson yeah, I lived on a tax haven island for a few years, fell into the trap, bought myself a Porsche, sold it and got a Fiat panda instead, surfboard on roof, happy days, more fun to drive on a small island 9x5 miles

In my area Alabama we have guys with 100k 80mph bass boats! I don't care for them much I just cruise around in my old star craft offshore! Most people really like it though. Some times I have to explain what it is .Most women love it !
