Likewise. I'm starting my second 48 hour fast tomorrow. The last time I did it was 4 months ago. I found it very difficult. I managed 42 hours. But yes, I agree, it was killer 😂
@EMVera-eh5nm
@EMVera-eh5nm 3 года назад
@@danielaevans9331 Personally, I think; the key is to not wait until you’re hungry. Start your fast around 6P rather than in the morning. Got to bed, wake up, you’re done with the first 12 hours or so, water, and whatever else is acceptable during the fast thru out the day (keep the stomach “full”) i too had quit at about 44 hrs or so.. I did it as explained above last week, and it worked. I could’ve kept going, I wasn’t hungry at all, but I decided not to.

As a type 2 diabetic, I’m finding the 72 hour fast is more beneficial than 48. The 48 was not affecting my glucose levels as much, the 72 is dramatic. I’m doing it weekly with doctors ok. I still walk 6 miles a day and lift some weights. Day two is the hardest day three is the easiest.
@yohughson1385
@yohughson1385 4 года назад
Dennis, do you do 72 hours one time a week how many times a month ?
@LASoundCrafter
@LASoundCrafter 4 года назад
E. Yoly Hughson So far every week (completed one month so far). My doctor is a firm believer in Dr. Jason Fung’s work in regards to intermittent fasting and long term fasting. He recommended The Diabetes Code. The every week is an experiment to see how far we can reverse the condition, so far my A1c has dropped from 8.1 to 6.5. When I do eat, aim for a limit of 35 gms of carbs per day. Fung convincingly says “diabetes IS reversible.”

Pascale Devalet I’m not a doctor, so I’m hesitant to give advice. Everybody is different, so what works for me may not for you. But one thing that I recently discovered was raw apple cider vinegar. Four tablespoons mixed with water, sipped at night dramatically affected my fasted morning glucose readings. I found, adding one packet of stevia with the mix, greatly reduced the blunt ugly taste of the vinegar and made it palatable. I was surprised at the result.

Yesterday I have completed 14-day long water fast. I have been drinking only water and 1-2 cups of black coffee every day, been taking a 2 hour walks, 15 min full bodyweight workouts, and been working for 8 hours 5-6 days per week. In same period I lost around 12 kg (24 lbs). Now I reintroduced food today, feel much stable now that I have reseted my gut, and from now on will keep doing 18:6 IF every day and 24 h water fast one day per week.

I find when doing a 24-48 fast that it's a good idea to do a people fast as well. I contacted my mother while under going my 48 hour fast, it was a big mistake, my adrenaline sky rocketed I had my father bitching about rot on the first day of my fast as well. I started free falling for a bit but came out of it by night fall and didn't brake the fast. I must have great resilience to be able to get through that. So my strategy is to people fast whilst abstaining from food. I think we all need a brake from toxic people from time to time in fact I my do a complete reset and give certain people and toxic places the boot for good, sugar is another thing that can go as well. Time for a huge reset.💪

I'm 65 years old, weight 239 lbs, and eat OMAD most every day, but had never done a 48 hr Fast. I did it, and I was never hungry, but I ate at 6p on the starting day, then 6p on the ending day. I had even energy and a clearer mind. It was pretty amazing. I lost 3 lbs, but figured I'd gain it back, however, I gained 1 lb the next day, but was back down the next day, so I actually lost 3 lbs. That's not so important as the other benefits.

I did 48 for the first time last week after 2 months of doing 16/8 and some 20/04 with the occasional OMAD. The major problem was the headache, that wasn't too intense, but I definitely felt it when going to sleep on the first day and then in the morning the next day. In the afternoon of the second day I was energetic and ready to push it to 72 with no problem at all (which I didn't). It wasn't very easy, but it definitely wasn't very hard either. I came out of it saying that this is for like, once every 6 months or something, but now I'm thinking, meh, I could do it again...

50 minutes from my first 48 hour fast. It wasn’t too bad. It’s hard to imagine going an extra 24 and beyond is any more beneficial though. I feel like 48 hours implemented every so often is the perfect amount of time to commit to a fast

This was my first fast and I made it 39 hours. I might have been able to hold out longer, but I went grocery shopping. :( On the flip side, I had some great foods with which to break my fast. I lost 3 1/2 pounds. I'm interested in how much my weight goes up tomorrow.

I've been doing a 15-18 hr daily fast, one or two 20-24 hr per week, one 39-44 hr per month for about 10 months now - i'd like to do a 60+ hour fast once a year ...

I did my first ever fast last week. It was a 24 hour fast. I started my first 48 hr fast aug 9th after breakfast. I am at hour 33. I am hungry but not too bad. I will do another 48 hour fast in 2 weeks but I am going to start it after a dinner instead of breakfast.

I think it's worth mentioning that you should actively avoid being around people while they're preparing/eating food and avoid food commercials. Your brain has mechanisms to aid with digestion that will trigger when it sees and/or smells food. If your brain triggers those mechanisms and you DON'T give your gut food, it will only make you irritable. Don't do this to yourself. You got this!

This slaps, thanks Thomas. I got the app and did the fast...I felt great while doing it, I felt energized, pumped and motivated! My only prob was I felt terrible the day AFTER the fast. I broke the fast the evening before (lean protein barely any dinner) then the next day had some GI problems, they've cleared up by now but what is exactly going on? Is my body just not used to the fast? I followed the advice my stomach just...was not happy at...all...the next day (after break-fast and eating slowly and carefully the next day). Anyway, it's not too hard, keep at it everyone, let's do it together.

Just wanted to say thanks for this video. It would appear that while I was doing well in consistently fasting intermittently, I have been eating not so well things like carby stuff. At least now, with this, I can try a few new things to see if it helps me even more. 😁 In the past like 2-3 weeks or so, I think I am down about 10lbs. At least now, I may be able to push it a bit more or see better results. Thanks again for the info & all the info you share with everyone. 😁👍

Sounds just like my experience. At 36hrs my body felt weak but with so much mental energy, I don't even know how to handle this manic mood. I'm 30mins from completion of 48hrs. I'll be doing this again in a week. I'm experiencing so much mental clarity. I don't remember last time I felt this good. Oh, and it also seems to be helping with my Major Depression and Anxiety which was the whole reason I tried fasting in the first place. Loosing 5lbs in under 48hrs is just icing on the cake. I dint even know loosing weight that quickly was even possible. I can now see my six pack in great detail. So glad I went through with it. After Wim Hof breathing method exercises, this is best bang for my buck

@@Andreyes2000 Best if you do these types of fasts once a month, you don't want your body to adapt to a lifestyle like that, but only prepare for an event like it.

I been intermittent fasting for a wile now. Stop for a day only eat twice or 3 times in a still shortened window. I fast over 20 hours a day. Not fasting I still go 14 or 16 hours without eating. To me that's not fasting. And I am the past few days feeling drained and sleeping very exessive 12 and 13 hours a night past 2 days. I eat carbs after protien drink to break the fast. Not tons and maybe not many calories total in my feeding window either. But I am on 500 mg a week steroids 50 years old. I am doing 250 mg a week but added a few weeks at 500mg a week to boost my t levels faster. Being I been doing test replacement for a little over a month. No sex drive at all. None. And very tired for almost all day. Loosing fat fast really fast. I was gaining muscle very fast then boom I feel nothing of the steroids any longer. Nothing at all. No pump no aggressiveness. And now tired as can be. Maybe I need to have the test repair and change my body. And let myself sleep for long periods and even nap in the day. I am skinny fat really skinny and fat pregnant looking stomach. Or was now more muscle and lot less stomache. But I am trading muscle for fat. The only thing at 500mg a week I feel nothing from test. No exessive strength no labido. No aggressiveness nothing. What could cause this to just stop. And now cause me to be so tired I can't get up and walk much without needing to sit down.

Wow this is such good map to how to navigate the fast! I just got off my first 48hr fast and it was painful! I did all the wrong things. I figured I just wing it and see how it’s goes and I paid the price for it too! I will follow ur advice to the T since it seems like once a week 48hr fast is beneficial over all! Thanks a million I will heed ur advice!!

Great video. My only question is how often can I safely do a 48 hour fast? Weekly? Bi-weekly?
@Robnord1
@Robnord1 3 года назад
I do a 48 hr fast weekly when in weight loss mode, and do that for 4 wks or until at goal weight. The body will tell you if you're taking it too far. For example, I have trouble sleeping and some muscle and joint irritation if I'm fasting too long or too often.

i’ve managed to build upto the 48 hours, by 20h fasts during the week with one 30 and then 40h fast leading upto it. The thing is even though now i have manage to control my craving thanks to IF but i wana knew what food combos are some go to s for everyone else. what the most ideal food combo except for protein alone, i dont want to eat just protein but a lovely plate of food with vegetables or rice or wither or combined with protein of as i go to the gym 5-6 days a week to do hypertrophy training. would love to hear everyone elses experience. thanks for this video as well very helpful and motivational!!
