➡ ABOUT ME
My name is Crosby and I'm a solo traveler, digital nomad, and full-time traveler! After a few corporate jobs throughout college, I quickly realized that the 9-5 lifestyle wasn’t for me. So in 2019, I took the leap into the freelance world and started traveling the world full-time - from solo traveling Mexico to road tripping Portugal to living in a travel trailer, I'm absolutely addicted to this lifestyle. Right now, I'm back in Mexico and sharing my adventures here on RU-vid!
Be sure to subscribe and follow me on Instagram for daily updates! Thanks so much for watching!

Tremendous Capital City!. Visitors quickly realize of the rich history, traditions, culture, art and architecture, and of course delicious and eclectic gastronomy. Mexico City is just fascinating, too much to explore and discover. Mexico has the largest number of world heritage sites recognized by UNESCO in the Americas. Nice vid!

Tourists and digital nomads are destroying our city making it literally their property, they only hangout with each other, displace locals, raise prices, appropiate and pervert our culture, speak English obnoxiously loud on the street demanding it to be spoken in classes and events. They think we live an exotic jungle they can colonize and move "to live like kings" they said. They dont care about us, they care its cheaper, because they earn in dollars. Sad chapter of white colonialism.

A taco tour would be so cool to do especially since I love tacos! I'm glad to hear you felt pretty safe overall in Mexico City. I totally agree that the media really tries to hype up the bad things about a destination. I feel that as long as you are in a safe part of the city and practice your street smarts, you'll generally be OK. I really want to plan a trip to Mexico City now after watching both of your videos from there! Amazing video Crosby!

You are definitely a smart and reasonable person who understands that big cities, by the mere fact of being large and diverse, have dangers that are not present in smaller cities or suburbs in the USA. I was born and raised in Mexico City and I’m no stranger to its multiple dangers. What you said about being aware of your surroundings and exercising caution based on the situation (knowing, for example, when you can walk at a leisurely pace and when you’d better walk faster) is absolutely right. I have been mugged in the city only once, and I do think my not being aware of my surroundings played a part in that (it was an “express” mugging, where the whole thing literally happened in a few seconds. I was pulled to the ground in a narrow “corridor” surrounded by street stands, and my iPod was taken away so fast I couldn’t even see my muggers’ faces). In a perfect world, you wish you wouldn’t have to worry about anything and just walk leisurely everywhere. In reality, big cities are like jungles where you have to be aware of your surroundings to avoid being scammed, mugged or assaulted. But based on my experience I do think crime is not uniformly distributed. While I only had one such experience in almost 25 years, I have cousins who experienced far more of these events, mostly due to the areas they had to go through on a daily basis.

Thanks for showing respect to the culture, our traditions, the food, and for speaking Spanish with the locals. And thanks for your honest safety review; even as a Mexican we are still cautious when being out and about in our own country. But, as you said, it really is no different from being out in a big city like NYC or Paris. Keep up the good work!

Thank you for showing the true side of the city where I was born. I am proud of mu country and my people. We are honest and, very gentle and kind. You are correct when you say this is like any other big city in the world.

So glad to see you enjoyed Mexico City. I’m especially happy you made it to Coyoacan. I’ve been visiting Mexico City for work since 2020. I’m older and don’t go clubbing. I stay in Coyoacan. I love it. It is safe and fun. The media blows the danger out of proportion!

I'm flying in to CDMX next Tuesday on my way to Puerto Escondido for most of November. I have to thank you for planting the seed to travel there from watching your great vlogs! I wish I could be there for dia de los muertos...next time. How much is the taxi from the airport to La Condesa?

Tourists and digital nomads are destroying our city making it literally their property, they only hangout with each other, displace locals, raise prices, appropiate and pervert our culture, speak English obnoxiously loud on the street demanding it to be spoken in classes and events. They think we live an exotic jungle they can colonize and move "to live like kings" they said. They dont care about us, they care its cheaper, because they earn in dollars. Sad chapter of white colonialism.

Was there in the 2021 with six friends, we're all from the US. Had a BLAST. Stayed in Planco and Condessa (Hippodromo). Went out every night, never felt in danger. The only time, any of did was actually during the day where a couple of us walked into the wrong neighborhood and quickly went back the way they came. It's a shame so many people only pay attention to the negative crime press on Mexico because they think CDMX is a warzone with gunfire in the backround and people running around dusty streets not trying to get shot, its ridiculous. I'm not saying you can do whatever you want wherever in Mexico but, good lord, do your research.

So first time viewer of your blogs. Im older retired in Mexico City for the last 3 years. Your response about safety in Mexico City and your tips seem completely appropriate. Usually I leave my cellphones (inexpensive androids) at home when I go on my daily walks and of course don't have a youtube type camera. The point you made about not being out drinking late at night seems to make a lot of sense. Like you I am so over people who have no personal experience portraying Mexico as less safe than anywhere else. Keep up the great work

Hey, try coming to Guanajuato. You’re gonna like it. But try to come in October or November for the cervantino and the día de los muertos. As you stay in Guanajuato, you can visit near city’s. Like San Miguel de Allende, Dolores hidalgo 👌🏽
