Y’all are so young and I love that you have big goals for yourselves! Just know that you CAN do anything you set your minds to! Keep in mind that math is only one component to such a rewarding career that there is so much more to! You still have plenty of time to work on your math skills, so please don’t let that discourage you! I’m no Anesthesiologist, but I am a nurse, and I absolutely love what I do! There are so many things you can do in the field of healthcare and it’s such a rewarding field! I can’t imagine working in any field other than healthcare. If I wasn’t a nurse, I don’t even know what else I’d be! Lol. Math is a big part of nursing also and it wasn’t my strongest subject, but I focused more on turning that weakness into something stronger to make my dreams come true, and you can too! Seriously though, you guys keep those goals high, don’t get discouraged by a weakness, just work your butt off and turn it into a strength because you CAN, remember that YOU are in charge of your future and CAN do anything you are driven to do, and ALWAYS always believe in yourself!!! You have the world at your fingertips and I have faith that you’ll do great things!!!❤️

11:00 Funny story on "Time Out" A few years back I had to have surgery on my foot. The nurse came up with a Shapee and said she wanted to mark the foot I was having worked on so they didn't "fix" the wrong foot. I said, "I don't think that is going to be a problem." and pulled my covers up so she could see I was an amputee. The look of utter horror on her face really really cracked me up. She realized she had just committed some kind of class 10 faux pas. She marked my foot anyway, which the doctor got a huge kick out of.

I've never had an anesthesiologist like you. I am pregnant with baby number 3, all three will have been C-sections. In 2012 with my first daughter they actually put me to SLEEP for reasons I still don't fully understand. I was in labor for days and told them the entire time I had the epidural that it wasn't working. They all kept assuring me (even my husband) that I was simply feeling pressure, not pain. Fast forward to my emergency C-section, they tried the epidural again, then a spinal (to my recollection). When nothing 'took' and I could still feel pain they put me out very quickly. It was incredibly traumatic and causes me so much anxiety. My most recent C-section in 2018 went very smoothly. No problems with the spinal, but I did not connect with my anesthesiologist at all. They weren't warm or comforting and didn't speak much, English wasn't his first language and that caused a barrier for us, I believe? I wonder if there is a way that I can request a female anesthesiologist this time around. I wish more than anything I could have someone amazing like you by my side!! I know this comment is long, but I've been watching your videos back to back all day and your patients are so lucky to have you. Any insight on my first C-section where I was put out? My current OB is baffled and couldn't even explain it to me! Thanks for all you do.

I have been following you for a couple months now. I loved vlogmas! I have such an appreciation for anesthesiologists since finding your channel. My 3 yr old son just had surgery last week to have a second set of ear tubes placed and his adenoids removed. My husband and I went back this time to help hold him and be with him while he was being sedated. It was kind of a nerve wracking experience watching him be put under. But we were at children’s hospital and the team was amazing. They did the time out procedure and everything it was kind of cool actually seeing it done by professionals and not just on dramatized on tv.

This week I was going to have a minor procedure done & didn’t have a pleasant experience with the anesthesiologist (first time ever even going under) and the whole time I wish like I wish it was Kristina instead! Thanks for putting out videos like this because I know next time it won’t as bad of an experience and honestly, knowing there is anesthesiologist like you out there make me feel more comfortable. Anyway, looong time subscriber and thanks for sharing your life with us!

Just want to say how I always thank God for our medical teams who work together to keep us safe and well. I’ve had to have several surgeries although I am a healthy person for my age, I’ve had the gallbladder, appendix blah blah blah stuff happen but that is some of the best sleep I ever get girl!

Loved hearing you talk about spinal headaches! I have psudeotumor cerebri and after a lumbar puncture developed a spinal headache. When the doctor who gave me the lumbar puncture saw me again, to give me a blood patch, it was exactly like you said! The second he walked in he knew what it was, even though every other medical professional I had encountered for the two previous days didn't believe that I had one. (also, when he went back in for the blood patch, he attempted to get my pressure again and I had been leaking so much CSF that he couldn't get a reading after half an hour and put it in the notes as a dry tap)

THIS IS SO EXCITING!!!!!! I love seeing some of the things you do at work! I’m learning so much from you! Thanks for sharing with us My Girl!!!! 🤗🤗🤗 PS I HATED getting my epidural for my first born because it hurt so badly...for me the epidural was the worse part of labor for me. Never had another one done because of that. I wish you could share with every doctor your secrets for no burning lol.

Anesthesiology has always intrigued me; if I decided to go the med school route, I think I would have strongly considered anesthesiology - it pays well, reasonable work-life balance, interesting work where you're continuously learning, and not as stressful as other specialties.

I wish you had been my anesthesiologist, mine yelled at me while I was in a very vulnerable state about canceling my surgery, opioid addiction, and nerve blocks all because I was crying and scared. Thank goodness for the nurse that stayed with me and held my hand though that madness.

I’m so happy for the woman with a previous myomectomy - that she had a baby. I had fibroids and they basically ruined my life. I know you didn’t say what the reason was, but in a case like hers, it’s a double miracle.

This was super interesting! I love medicine. I’m fascinated by the human body. This was right up my alley. Also, I had my first surgery last week (partial meniscectomy). My first anesthesia experience. I did think of you. My anesthesiologist looked the opposite of you and I’ll leave it there. It was a good experience except the pain meds did not agree with me. I was nausea and vomiting for several hours. They were talking about keeping me but I begged to go home and the nausea did finally subside. I’ve worked in hospitals for the past 15 years and this was the first time I was on the other side and I couldn’t have had a better experience minus the vomiting. Thanks for taking us along!

Hello. I just subscribed to your most informative channel! Thanks for explaining why some surgeries are cancelled due to high blood pressure. I have just started on BP meds so your explanation makes me understand why this is so important to take. Haven't had cancelled surgeries but good to know I am doing something important for my body in case of emergencies. Thanks! Julie in North Carolina
