This is my favorite show on motortrend Dave and fred are awesome. They make everything look fun even when things are obviously not going so well. I just wish more episodes would come out more often. It takes forever for new episodes to drop on MT.

Yey! Finally some Isuzu content. The VehiCross is basically a SWB Trooper. 2"-lift=Front coils from Grand Cherokee V8 in the back + crank the front torsion bars. Then you have a very decent truck. But I would prefer the 3.2 manual five speed. That makes it bulletproof. The 3.5+4L30 is not the best combination.

@@vtecbanger3180 this is the truth everywhere. that is what happens when the word gets out that something is underrated. it has happened to the xj, and zj too. i have not seen a samurai for a reasonable price in years

@@MrMrsregor I used to drive a geo tracker in the early 2000s those are gone. I do admit the xj was brought to my attention via web and lost a smoking deal 2 years ago on a customers that was moving. Mint garage kept 120k never beat on 2k. I had just spent a ton to get my house redone and wasn’t in the budget. I did score a hummer last year tho!

I applaud the effort. Lift Kit, Locker, Winch, Winch Plate, Fox Shocks, Tires, Wheels, Lights...looking at around $3500-4k. It would take at LEAST a weekend to save that much money, soo, I suspect this build will take at least 2 weekends. 😛😋

I have here in Germany the Opel Frontera. Is the Long Version. It is the Isuzu Rodeo, and it is like the vehicros (But that is the Short Version, like the Isuzu Amigo) I love the simple and strong technic!

The F250s came with a flat front spring on purpose a arched is hard on the ttb axle. The ttb is more suited to a coil spring

The vehicross had a locking differential (electric selectable) option for the rear dif, no mention of it here so maybe theirs didn’t but every one I’ve looked at did.

I was onboard untill you painted over chrome. I know where one of those Izusu is for sale with a bad motor. It black and pretty sweet. I already have a 95 Geo Tracker though. I might buy it for an investment or toss in in the shop in my odd collection of cars.

The show car was built at Gaffaglio Family Metal Crafters, where I worked in 1997. Possibly the coolest car they made that year. Unfortunately I worked on the new Dodge Intrepid concept.

I had a chance to buy a 2nd gen RS Trooper for 2k once.. Shame I couldn't afford it at the time. The short wheelbase RS 2nd gen Troopers might even be more rare than the Vehicross.

Always liked the Isuzu oddball. I remember when the VehiCross competed in Four Wheeler of the Year. I couldn't remember if it had won so I had to Google it. Can you import them? I live in Northern California and they are everywhere. Cheep and relatively rust free. I got my bone stock clean 84 k5 for free. Replaced the trans then built it up from there. Wheels tires exhaust lift lights bumpers etc. smog laws here suck and people sell them off instead or repairing or up dating.

I love the Isuzu Vericross, several times I have tried to buy one here in the UK but even rough ones ask silly money which is a shame I had the Trooper short wheelbase and when I sold that I kept everything off it to fit to a Vericross to make it that bit better than stock but too Tonka toyish.
