Hi, thanks for the classes professor, the document you gave to students at the end of the video, is there a way for me to find it or get it, I'm learning every day with your classes thanks again for this
Love the lecture, as always. Just one question: given the context in which the Tertullian quote appears, is it correct to say that it supports fideism? "The Son of God was crucified: there is no shame, because it is shameful. And the Son of God died: it is by all means to be believed, because it is absurd. And, buried, He rose again: it is certain, because impossible." De Carne Christi V, 4
I believe I mention in the lecture that the charge of fideism is misplaced in the case of Tertullian. He was a quite rational Roman lawyer turned theologian, and was really just critiquing the skeptical philosophies of his day. Nevertheless, the quote has taken on a life of its own, and thus the charge. Thanks for the feedback!
