Because it clear hatred for Purdy for no reason. And Nick did say dink and dunk. He just uses the YAC term. Problem there is that is the style of offense the Niners run. Mahomes ran a similar style of offense in terms of screens under Reid. It was not until recently that Mahomes was given free reign because he is so good. Nick wants to punish Purdy for his receivers and rb but gives a pass to dak for his, mahomes for his, burrows for his. Brou brought up air yardage, yeah Purdy leads in that too. Mark my words, Nick will still slam Purdy even if he throws for 300 yards and 5 tds on Sunday. It will be all the receivers who did the work.

its ridiculous... Nick acts like all Purdy has to be is a shell like Joe Biden... when in reality the team has a ton of expectations and if the team were losing he would be the only focal point because they are so stacked... He has to come in every week and do the same thing every other QB does which is make good decisions and deliver the ball to where his receivers are and he does that... The only reason he doesn't get the respect he deserves is his position in the draft and putting a guy who has never played the game at the top of a tier chart over a guy actually playing with the number one passer rating is basically pure biased idiocy....

The reason the 49ers won the playoff game 9 months ago is because Purdy outplayed Dak: Dak had two costly interceptions, which were the difference in the game. Purdy didn't make a mistake. The ability to avoid mistakes also matters.

Nick is the last guy who gets to mention the words "moving the goalpost" when he does it on every Nick's tiers and Mahomes mountain segment especially when it comes to "the prince." Purdy is literally top 5 in nearly every qb stat in everything but he's still a bottom tier qb according to Nick. Also, Nick said that Brock didn't play a good defense yet. HE DID IT LAST YEAR AGAINST THE COWBOYS and he played better than Dak in that game.

Great o line, amazing receivers, the best RB in the game, a top TE, one of the best defenses in the NFL and an amazing play caller. Purdy has started 8 games and if you don’t take his situation into account, he might literally be the best QB in the NFL. Right now he has zero picks, his team is undefeated, he’s leading the league in adjusted yards per attempt, passer rating and QBR. Purdy has literally never had to sweat in a game because the most points he has ever been down is like 7. We reserve the right to see what Purdy looks like vs the really good teams of the NFL even with that stacked roster around him.

@@jctslice The H2H discussed here was for the teams btw, Purdy didn't play when the 49ers beat the cowboys in the playoffs 2 years ago. But yeah, that's still a good point, and nice catch. Imo as long as the game is within 1 possession, at best all we can say is that both teams are still good.

I think the argument could be made like MMA or boxing. If a fighter has fought someone 2 times and lost both but then somehow won on the 3rd try.. people wouldn't instantly say the guy who finally won was the better fighter. @@Christorment5 Nick is an elitist. He has been continuing to rank Lawrence high despite him not deserving it yet and continues to rank Purdy low despite showing nothing but good tape. Nick says he watches the tape and it doesnt look impressive, but hes insane to say that after some of the impressive throws Purdy has made the last two games, stuff like back shoulder throws 30 yards downfield or throwing into double coverage (leading the wr open) 45 yards downfield. Even all his 'easy' throws are cus he reads the the defense so effortlessly and finds the open man fast. He's honestly just mindlessly sticking to the pedigree and eventually hes gonna get burned just like he did with Brady.

Brou got my respect yesterday when he destroyed Nick on Brock Purdy vs Geno Smith. I usually like Nick's take in other realms but that was great. If you want to argue Dak has more potential or more arm strength go for it, but for the entire length of time he’s been playing Purdy has outperformed Dak, both in general and in the head to head game.

You don't know what Dak is, This is a completely new offense that he has never run. Moore had them passing on most downs instead of managing the ganme the way it would have been to win the game. Dak is now playing the old Montana/young/rodgers/farvre offense so NOBODY knows how dak will handle this offense. We will know at teh end of the year. We do know what the defense is because DQ is still DC but with a much better team this year than the last 2 years. SO it will be a great game, and no moatter whether the cowboys win or the 9ers, it still won't mean the playoffs will be the same as this game. This is literally just one game and the season continues. They will see each other again in the playoffs and that game will end the season for one of them. That game will show who teh better of the team really is, this year. last year the 9ers end up winning, Dallas had half teh o0line out and startunf RB and only had cee dee to throw to, this year it looks like dallas will have everybody ready to play except the starting LT Ans zeke is gone with his 2 yards per carry and both RB are ow runnung 5.5 YPC plus Brndin Cooks and Gallup is bck, plus Fergusen and on D we are down the best CB manye in all of football but we have gilmore and blande so looking good do far. It'll be a greta game. It was last years and no reason to belive it wont be sunday night and later in the playoffs. This is all talk about nothing.... NOBODY knows until the game is over. Purdy did outplay Dak when the 2 teams met in the Divisional rd. If you look at the numbers from that game..Purdy had more yards, a better passer rating, a better QBR and did not throw a pick vs a very good Dallas defense. Dak threw 2 costly INTs which ended up being the difference in a close game. Hypotheitcals mean nothing in football. I remember in the 00s there was a lot of "Brady isn't better than Manning, he has a better team" stuff going around. We never wonder how Josh Allen would look if Andy Reid was his playcaller. Mike McCarthy got to Countless NFC Championships with Rodgers...he hasn't been past the Divisional with Dak yet despite having a prime Zeke, Prime Cooper and now a Prime CeeDee. We judge players based on what we see, not what ifs. Purdy is having a better season than Dak by every measurable metric..and was the better QB the last time these 2 teams met in the playoffs. My unpopular take is that Purdy has done enough in 12 games to be ranked #2 behind Jalen Hurts in the NFC QB list.And the fact that we are still debating whether a 30 yr old Dak is actually better than a 23 Yrd QB who's played just 12 ( Albeit great) games is a bad indictment on Dak. If Dak was who Nick thinks he is.,he should be in his prime undoubtedly the best QB in the Conference. Hurts is 25, Goff is 28, Kirk is 35 and Purdy is 23...Dak is in his prime and yet all those guys have legit arguments to be ahead of him on the NFC QB list. Brou really OWNED Nick in this segment

@@DangleSan here’s the thing, unlike Nick I don’t hold it against Brock that he’s actually been playing well enough to not even have to be in that position yet. Do I think Brock is elite? Not yet. Do I think you can put him on any team and he’ll carry them? No. But those things are also unknowns, we have yet to have anything to be able to base concrete answers off of. Seeing as how out of all the QBs that have played under Shanahan, Brock has objectively looked and played the best, I have no reason to believe that Brock is purely being carried by the system. And even on Sunday, I don’t think it’ll be a blowout in either direction, but if Brock has an objectively good game against this defense, there’s even less reason to think that the system is the sole reason for his success and how well he plays on a week to week basis.

He plays like a veteran when he only has 11 starts, he is extremely efficient and can make plays, against the cardinals he was 25% over expected completion percentage which is the highest mark in NFL history, that means he is completing passes that were expected to be incomplete, that's elite, he also makes about 2 big time throws a game, which is a metric from PFF that measures wow throws Josh Allen last year had an average of 2.8 big time throws per game which lead the NFL Brock is around that this season, every metric either advance or standard he is producing at an elite level

Though Purdy has a low ceilings in terms of throwing and running compared to a lot of other QBs in the league, he always plays within his means. What hurts a lot of QBs in the nfl is when they try doing something they have no business doing by trying to play outside there capabilities to create a big play. A lot of play callers like to push the limit of what there QB is capable of which just increases the margin of error. San Fran is the best at not doing that imo.

When under pressure, Dak tries to play like he's a top 3-5 QB and he quite simply doesn't have the skill to do that. Brock hasn't made those same mistakes as a pro yet. I can see the quality of weapons diminishing some credit, but at the end of the day, the QB is in charge of his numbers and making the well oiled machine go. Brock Purdy is number one in passer rating and QBR (which is a number that mostly is about individual play not your surrounding talent) Brock Purdy is a top 10 arguably top 5 qb.
