It’s a beautiful throw but also very dangerous. Somebody more athletic would pick that or at least knock it down with ease. But who knows, the way this kid progresses and sees the field, maybe that was taken into account before he released it.

I think the pass to BA that got called back was the best throw he made all night.

I think the pass to Deebo on 3&14 was perfect timing. Deebo was on full stride pluck the ball and tucked in one motion without slowing down. The last QB who threw this way, on stride and perfect height was Joe Montana, and his receiver was Jerry Rice.

H doesn't have the rockstar talent those guys have but he knows how to lead a team and he knows how to hit his passes, and he trusts the teammates to do their jobs. That's all it takes in many situations. In Purdy's case though, he also reads the field like a 10 year veteran, which was a pleasant surprise.

Maybe not the greatest of forever, different times had different situations, and Montana or Starr or Favrre may have been far better or far worse based on when they came into the league. He's the best of his era, and that's no exaggeration.
