San Francisco 49ers starting quarterback Brock Purdy spoke to reporters after his team was defeated by the Eagles in the NFC Championship on Sunday. (1-29-23)
Haha Purdy he's soft as wet paper glad he got shut up with all the fake hype. For him to be in the same conversation as sauce Gardner is a joke buddy play 6games or something mr irrelevant for a reason. SF is scheme team the qbs don't matter he's not that good.
Considering all we went through this season, the 49ers had a good year. Last 12 games, we went 11-1. That's a great season. 49ers fan here from south central Kentucky. We will return!
Tommy John surgery for QBs especially, has come a long way. It’s not nearly the career killer as it can be in baseball, as no QB is ever going to be asked to make 120+ high velocity throws in a game. Purdy’s got a great shot of coming back just as good or even better! Kid’s got real heart!
We're proud of you Brock! To have to step up with no notice and carry the team and did a hell of a job! Thanks for a great season! Like he said it hurts though. I've waited 29 years and now it will be 30 years since the 49ers won a Super Bowl. I imagined this game being much better. At least a run but like Kittle said what can you do? Any real 49ers fan will be there til the end. It hurts but hopefully things are better next year
Kyle did the right thing by not forcing him to throw after putting him back in the game. Brock will have a bright future with the Niners and I'm looking forward to it.
@@ShaneCragun You probably don't know or give any f**k about how severe his injury is and since its finally has been confirmed its absolutely serious. Any more pressure for him to throw would end Purdy's career from further damage.
@@ShaneCragun What kind of dumb comparison are you making here? Last time Montana played in the Niners Championship game he also got injured on his shoulder so are you also pissed that Siefret didn't put him back in the game to force him to throw? Maybe you probably don't know about that because you weren't even born yet during that time. Stop being selfish because people's health and their long term career is more important than a game, even if its a championship game its still not worth it.
To the knuckleheads who say Purdy faked it, he should've pushed through the pain, and they didn't wait for the real doctors to report. Really? Complete UCL tear, surgery required. Yes, Tommy John surgery has improved, but he's still throwing a ball with velocity. Results aren't guaranteed. I'm not a 49ers fan, but a Purdy supporter because he's from AZ. Prayers to the kid and his family. It might be NFL Linsanity or not. I have heard he's a great kid, with the right life attitude. Don't we want those type of players as examples for our kids to follow? Have a great career kid. I enjoyed the ride.
It ok young buck you did everything you can we didn’t know how bad your injury was thanks for this season hope the mri come back negative and we can have you back next year for the revenge tour
We have a big issue on the offensive line and Corners ! Proud of all the 49ers this year they went a long way and held their own . Bottom line we are out . Time to focus on next year !
49ers did great!! Brock took over the game gave us a great chance!!! We beat all our major rivals, atleast we didn't lose to the seahawks or cowboys!!! Next season can't wait!!!👍49ers 4 life!!!
If he just said sling that bitch till I can’t, I think of pure adrenaline he could of made some plays … Tony Romo played w a dislocated back disc talking about throwing the ball geez was he out there making plays still and that was a week week 16 game to go into week 17 and play for division “ playoff” game atmosphere
@@geneticfreak84 Good point. I suspect any injury is another way to take your confidence away and not every player could cope that. Purdy simply wanted to play safe as far as his health goes, and I don’t blame him one bit. If anything, it Kyle Shanahan who picked Purdy’s inferior blocker against that monster Eagle defender.
But Montana and Steve would have toughed it out. Don't compare Brock to those two warriors. Those guys would have demanded to play. Imagine Young saying at the microphone, "I told Seifert that it hurts really bad. And so I can't throw." OMG.
Don’t worry about it brock u did good not ur fault no one expected us to go this far proved the haters wrong!! No one wanted us to go to SUPERBOWL they jinxed us
@@R.S.G879 You literally have it the opposite. Bengals and Niners were favored because Eagles fanbase is horrendous (you are really proving the stereotype wrong by going into a post game interview and talking trash!). More people favored and wanted the Bengals to win because of Chiefs success fatigue. It's like watching the Belichick-Brady era.
@@R.S.G879 I was going for the 49ers cause I can't stand Jalen Hurts overhyped garbage qb azz. Hurts still gets lucky to be on a great team where he can just throw the ball up for grabs and his receiver luckily comes down with it just like his whole college career. His luck will run out soon enough and expose him for the crap qb he is.
Sorry you been hurting from the game today I guest they planed to hurt you they know you are good quarterback!! Anyway you guys play very hard God will healing your arms
He decided his long term career and health were more important then winking this game and possibly permanently destroying his throwing arm can’t blame the man
@@Unbounded7 funny thing is though that he probably could have thrown it but if you have had that injury you know what every strain you put on that ligament risks terrible permanent damage. No way he wanted that. No way Kyle wanted that. No way the fans wanted that.
No disappointment at all, week 7 we were 3-4 and went to where were are today. Thankful and I feel Brock about the older guys how he feels bad bit he is only 1 man and tried his best
I know how everyone feels. I was pissed when I saw Purdy was done after 6 plays. Luck was on the eagles' side that day. But I've already looked into my crystal ball and saw that Purdy is the starter next year and the niners come back to play in the superbowl in 24
trey ain't getting his QB1 spot back. SF found their franchise QB. I'm surprised he didn't push through the pain like most high tier QBs do. it would have solidied his status in the team and franchise history. The man has a TB12 like story. SB appearance and win would have rocked the nation
We’ll have to wait to find out more about his injury before we can crown him as our franchise QB. I love Brock, but if he ends up needing surgery, it usually takes AT LEAST 9 months for the injury to heal and to regain strength in the arm. If that ends up being the case, he’ll miss the entirety of next season. And even when he comes back, there’s no way to know how that injury will affect his play in the future (both physically and mentally), and he’ll have spent an entire year not touching a football. I was really rooting for him, and I hope for good news for him with this injury, but Niner fans should be prepared for a possible worst-case scenario.
You played great kid. This is your second injury but this one was the most costly. Allowing their number 1 pass rusher to get to you many times is unbelievable. We should have had a real gameplay for him instead of having a 3rd string TE. Damn shame
No one told him that when he declared Jesus as his savior to the entire world, the enemy would step in? Should have waited until he won the Super Bowl then more people would have taken notice. Get that guy married OMG 😅
It did seem this story tale had to come to a halt eventually. The odds were against the 49ers. However, all 49ers fan should thank the 49ers and Brock Purdy for a great season. You also have to consider that a guy like Suh was up for perhaps playing his last game needed to get to a Super Bowl. He is a tremendous talent when he really desires to be. He did desire to be today. This also shows the 49ers need to improve their O-line. I hope they succeed soon. 4 QBs in one season if too much even for the best of teams. Thank you 49ers! It was a great year. David White.
Honestly everybody is hurting this is the NFC championship. Man up and get back out there!!! If mahommes can play with a high ankle sprain his azz should toughen up!!!
Brock has nothing to beat himself up about he's done a great job for the situation he was in we'll learn from it and come back stronger and more prepared next year 💯
With his description of the pain it sounds old he tore the ligament. He's going to need Tommy John. That's fucken terrible. He's not going to be back any time soon. Tommy John requires a very long recovery
Didn't Josh Allen play half a season like this? That is terrible how you're multiple angles of the injury replay, looks no where near as bad as his did. I do hope both of y'all get better, but you better make sure that the shoe fits.
Exactly what I'm trying to say. Josh Allen keeps playing to get them to the Super Bowl. He still throws the 5 yard passes. Remember the key words Brock said at the podium "It hurt really bad" versus "I couldn't throw."
