I might be tripping but by definition this dude is like the clearest case of an industry plant💀 like his manager got him famous before he even did shit so I don’t know how that wouldn’t make him an industry plant. Like good for bro for having a good ass manager but am I wrong??
There’s certain cases where people drag it and some people aren’t industry plants but people won’t to knock them so I understand but there is most definitely industry plants. There’s a subset of people who think everyone is an industry plant and then there’s those that think nobody is when the truth is in the middle. If 4batz isn’t an industry plant, there is none. Like OP mentioned, this is the textbook definition
Signing a deal for an EP is smart af on both their behalf’s. Drake probably doesn’t expect him to be around after more than an EP and 4batz gets to fully monetize his short term hype
i heard a song from him last night for the first time and it reminded me of brent for some reason but like not close at all i don’t wanna say worse but worse on some not hating shit
100% an industry plant bro no matter how much quality you have in your music you're not getting 20 mil listeners off of the first song, even kanye and drake who were no 1 draft picks of their time did A LOT of background work
Whats more concerning is the fact that if drake dropped a feature 7 years ago. Everybody in they momma would've known about it, but in 2024 drake being a feature for a plant and not really knowing about it is crazy
already been proven he's 100% without a doubt he is an industry plant. multiple youtubers with sources proved it. not like the music is bad at all, just like why create an artist like this when there are plenty in the underground rnb scene who have been at it for years and who deserve it more. avenoir, pino, chase shakuar, eb3n, franco noir, etc...
@@robbinhatchett4179In what universe ? 😂😂😂 At least Tyla had some songs out before she got famous. 4batz was famous as soon as his first song released and then got a drake feature not even a year after. C'mon bro 💀
Industry Plant or not, he’s the one new artist that I can’t find a single redeeming quality about. At least with Ice Spice or Sexxy Red I know what people like about them. When it comes to 4batz his appeal is….pitched up vocals, the most predictable and drawn out melodies (they’ll tell you this is “vibing”), and a gimmick done 5 years ago by *checks notes* LOVELIVESERVE. Idec if I sound like a hater bro i’m genuinely confused😭
YES I think that’s why the song blew up fr. Drake knows exactly what he’s doing lol he bouta be right in the basement with the rest of the forgotten OVO artists 💀
I said he was a plant back on meamis first reaction video people just don’t understand what the term means. Usually it’s someone really small who’s doing pretty well that a label finds and decides to sign. From there they may change their name and look, delete old songs, and will have a whole rollout organized by the label to “organically” blow them up, generally something bound to be highly shareable and with vitality to it. Doesn’t always work but this method is always a plant
Industry plants were the norm for the industry. It was a normal part of artist development. Indie artists and the internet offered alternatives and labels in the 2010s saw this and tried hiding artist backstories more and more. Only thing is this is usually disingenuous from said artist and not an organic rebrand.
@@otterdonnelly9959 yea I mean most people would never hear of a new artist if they weren’t an industry plant, really hard to stumble across people organically although it’s slightly easier with the internet
4batz 3 singles all HIGH HIGH QUALITY PRODUCTION yet he's new and getting millions views plus 🤨. What new artists have acces to quality production, fan base and drake features instantly. Im a fan of his music but its a genuine question/thought. Did he have a previous alias?
4 Batz music ain’t generic,I’ve just heard it before from a lot of other artists. So hearing his music ain’t all that special compared to people I’ve heard before. No hate tho
He’s definitely an industry plant. Nothing about his blowup even seems natural, his team isn’t even hiding it lol. He’s definitely talented though no hate towards his music.
I just don’t see how this music can be performed live when his voice is pitched up. I feel the gimmick of the pitched up vocals will wear off after the first album
His music is nothing I haven't heard before and the videos I've seen on tik tok videos (with the ski masks etc.) are very gimmicky to me. Didn't someone use to make skits/videos where they dressed up with ski masks etc. but they sang Disney songs so it was unexpected? This song and its remix were fine but I tried to branch out to his other music and its not for me. Industry plant speculation: apparently his manager or someone affiliated with him is a creative director at RCA?
RMR did a similar thing and the cover was Rascal Flatts. I really liked his stuff buuuuuut he's struggled to release anything since that first mixtape.
His music is vibey but it’s nothing crazy that warrants the amount of attention it’s gotten, so he very well may be. That’s no hate at all either cause I could never knock another artist on the grind but it’s kinda sus
He definitely is. 110% an industry plant. Textbook definition of it damn near lol I’m very curious to see where his career is about to go though. Very lol
When artists see commercial success too quickly it stunts their growth and potential as an artist. That could well be the case for 4 bats. He hasn’t even developed a fan base. Wish the best for him though
at this point idk if im delusional or not but it's so crazy to me that he has 3 songs where he sings 1 melody for 3 whole minutes and people like that shit. Shit is so ass to me and i love rnb
I ain't gon lie 4batz got some good music tho. Say whatever you want bout him being an industry plant, vibey, psychedelic, lofi chill music is in and im never oppose to having another artist replicating that sound. If yall think brent better, go listen to brent then like tf😭 i listen to brent too but you aint never gon catch me hating on good music
Old Drake doesn't refer to drake in the middle of his career. He got poppin in the late 2000s - early 2010s, If I wanted to have a convo about "old Kanye" I wouldn't choose The Life of Pablo, an album released in 2016 as my reference point. Regardless of age that's a little too ignorant to reference. You'd be better off avoiding that convo
I believe its lil nas x , character change, The industry does this , they take the most popular artist in time and switch characters too gain more people to ride along, Lil nas x is the perfect candidate for them to use in this time
I have never heard of this dude ever. Let me guess though he’s been making music since 2010-2011 but it didn’t start to pop off until now Lmao this whole industry is rigged and fake.
@@tyronebiggums6940 idk how much processing he has on his vocals, but yeah bro…sounds better than a lot of r&b singers imo. reminds me of like trilogy/house of balloons Weeknd.
Shawn is ignorant here, with the rise of tiktok, artists have a lot more leverage when negotiating, why would I force myself into a long term deal when I can sign an EP, OVO gets my debut royalties and then so can retain ownership on anything following it
The type of music 4batz makes isn't lucrative outside of streaming. Very few would pay to see him perform live based off the music he's blown up off of. Also you're incorrect, tiktok doesn't give anyone leverage, it offers very little in the way of protection and longevity (IE James Blake). Him signing for an EP is not an indication of it being in a "bad deal", it reinforces the "industry plant" narrative because almost no one gets a deal like that.
@@ShawnCeeLIVE 100% right bro. The only disagreement here tik tok not giving leverage. As someone who worked at a label it almost sucks to say an artist who’s blown up off of tik tok has way more leeway of leverage compared to a much more talented artist. Longevity? No. But in terms of contractual leverage it most definitely does and hopefully it changes soon.
@@ShawnCeeLIVE as someone who works in the industry what is an industry plant? Having a smart manager with an eye for creative direction and connections has been historically how music blows up, the difference is the internet has just now allowed it to where you don’t have to sign to a major label to get the same promotion because the reality is most strategy’s revolve around creating a viral tiktok campaign and their strategy was super simple, it’s the “music video that doesn’t match the music” viral campaign, it makes it easier for a word of mouth campaign which is the strongest form of promotion… also people who make reaction videos are now going to have their audience spamming them because they want to see the reaction to the dichotomy of the video and the music
@@ShawnCeeLIVE I would also argue the difference in his tiktok blow up compared to other artists is the viral aspect is about him and his look verse a lot of other tiktok blows up are about other people making tiktoks to the song, the brand awareness of his looks should make it easier to sell shows
