I love the glacier! I was able to explore it from the inside.

That is awesome, are you running on of those Ice Walks? Do we need someone to guide us - or people in general can go as long as they know what they are doing?

@@lvfreeAdventuresno, I don’t run them. There is an outfitter called Live It Up Lifestyle Adventures that we booked through. Individuals aren’t allowed to hike the glacier on their own as it’s too dangerous.

I think last time you went on the coach but the hike is better because of all the stunning scenery. Excellent video ..really enjoyed it

You are right, this one is free and very nice walk. There is 3rd option - Guided Ice Walks where you get close to back wall I think... want to try next time

I visited the Glacier in 1968. 55 years ago it was almost beside the main road. Today, its way in the distance. What a change ! Thanks for the video. Very interesting.

Park passes can be purchased online, at the park gates if driving to the park, or in person at the Visitor Center. For Jasper National park pass - www.jasper.travel/park-pass-faq/ To hike trail in this video - the parking is free, on the other side of Columbia Icefield Glacier center. The hiking trail is short from parking lot - about 1.5km

With the free option how close can someone get to the glacier? Can it be walked on?

This video is as far as you can go. If you want to walk on glacier - you will need to pay for guided tour
