From my experience, between gear changes the R730 and FH16 750 are quite equal, however, the FH16 would slowly pull away due to the iShift's quicker gearshifts over the OptiCruise. But then again there are so many other variables like total drivetrain loss, wheel and axle combinations that make these comparisons near pointless...
SkakaMJ0lk No way 50 ton. The way he’s going around corners I’d say he’s actually empty, even if someone comes back to me & says he was fully loaded. I won’t believe it. I drive for a living & I should know. He’s more like 20ton gross.
damn, I wish our trucks in the us made that much, I'm a diesel mechanic and the company I work for only makes 600 and that's pretty much the max for factory trucks here
I was never involved in the process of buying and selling trucks so I don't know what they cost, sorry. I stopped driving trucks when I got my degree as a mechanical engineer.
bravia67 I care about my employers economy, and try to drive in a way that reduces fuel consumption. Using the power program is marginally faster but wastes enormous amounts of fuel. You probably wouldn't understand, judging by your comment...
bravia67 This R730 doesn't have the AE program due to heavy haulage spec. And regarding your comment about economy, all I have to say is good luck with that attitude.
Average 43-44 litres per 100km is okay, if you haul a semi trailer with 30-31 tons of cargo in the mountains. Your boss is just being cheap in my opinion.
