Welcome to the #FastLife VLOG! This time a FULL 40min stint during night practice at the 2020 Nurburgring 24hrs! This was taken on the Thursday evening during night practice.
Turn the lights off and emmerse yourself in the darkness of the Nordschliefe!

Thanks for all the comments! In response to the question that is asked manytimes The reason for doing 1 GP lap, and then starting a "full" combined lap is so that the data matches up with the start/finish line where our beacon is placed for our onboard Cosworth data logger. If I were to go straight out onto the Nordschleife, there would be a difference in the starting point for the data (the pitbox not the start finish line), meaning the data wouldn't match up and we would waste a lap with no data. Hope that helps anwser this question! Keep em coming 😀

you have to look at the apex so its actually not much different from the day. its more a mind thing. long straights might be scary but if you know the track you can do it.

What amazes me so much about endurance racers especially, you get in the car after a few hours, track conditions are wildly different, car could be handling differently, but as soon as you're out of the pitlane you're basically on the pace straight away. No idea how, but absolutely amazing nonetheless!

The M6 is such a great GT3 car, rather sad to see that it´s getting replaced, doesen´t really feel that old to me. Anyway, thanks for sharing the onboard footage !

@@motogp4658 it's going to be replaced by the newly introduced M4, the one with the terrible looking grille. There are photos on the web, have a look. Major downgrade in the looks department if you ask me.

@@PhysicxAlmighty i readed somewhere that they have redesigned the cars, there was a video of the new m4 on a balcony somewhere, with the massive front grill, then i readed on one of my whatsapp groups that they redesigned all the line, m2-3-4 etc, and they came back to "similar" grills from older models, less big and more "horizontal" than how they maded in recent bmw... hope it's true😂

Haha yes true that! I feel bad for the slower traffic as due to the blinding light you have no idea on closing speeds or what car it could be behind you! I did do a video looking around the M6 but not the “HUD tech”

So top right is the pitlane timer, so we can match the minimum pitstop time to the tenth of a second, middle right is just GPS speed from the racelogic, and bottom right is the digital marshal display that prewarns us if there is an incident when we are approaching and helps back up the Marshall flags. All make sense?

@@david_pittard we all know that the engine sound isn't that spectacular for sure. But if u lift the throttle during the braking u will here the turbo flutter/wastegate? paired with that deep thunder growl out of the exhaust, which is very awesome in all its way!

What is it like driving at night vs day on the Nordschleife? For example, do you pick your braking points using the same markers or do you change your style to adapt to the light? This is seriously impressive - well done buddy

Mindblowing video! These night races are so fascinating to me, especially on the Nordschleife, must feel so surreal to blast through the forest at night with only your headlights and no real runoff. Your headlights are slightly better than the old Lucas sealed beam units and the cibies we had on old MK2 escort rally cars . 😵‍💫 Love the look of these GT’s probably the prettiest one around. Wonder how far off the pace my e36 GTR would be with 600-750bhp / 900kg and full aero .🤔

I think He makes Another lap to Feel The car and find something thats wrong. If you go on the Nordschleife you have about 20km to go back to the pits if something happens you do Another lap on the GP Circut 😂

I believe this is done to reduce the time of the outlap. In normal circuits where a round takes 2 minutes you use the first lap right after the pits to warm the tires/brakes and get a feel for the car and then you can already go all out for the second lap. On the Nürburgring 24h they reduce the outlap to just the GP circuit, so they get to the proper laps quicker. But that is only my guess.

How do you make sure you brake and turn just at the right time when you can't really see much despite using the high beams? Visual cues like the distance markers before the corner, maybe?
