Approach and landing in the SIAI SF260 Marchetti at Zell am See LOWZ. Flying through the narrow valleys of the Austrian alps in the speedy (200 knots) Marchetti for some dinner in Zell. We did some aerobatics including loops and rolls.
Feel free to rate, comment, surbscribe and share. There is no music in the complete video not to destroy the sound of the airplane.

As a commercial pilot I must say that the pilot in question demonstrates a very dangerous attitude towards safety of his passengers and himself. Mountain waves, low level wind shear and turbulence are a very serious danger, especially in low level flight as they can result in FIT. On the other hand, that did indeed look like a lot of fun and I definitely enjoyed it, very nice video.

As someone who’s going for their PPL. Could you tell me the dangers of flying this low with mountains? From where I’m sitting it all looks pretty safe

@@Benjamin-578 Possible downdrafts on the lee-side of ridges with no room to turn around, possible obstacles (e.g. cable car cables). Recommended altitude for mountain pass crossings: 1.000 ft AGL; recommended flight path: 45° to ridge to enable escaping turn.

@@MarcUlm yes, it is that on the slopes exposed to the sun the air for sale, on those in the shade has downward motion. The plane flies in the air so there may be a sudden loss of altitude, a very dangerous situation. still nice video, nice flight, nice plane
