[4K, ATC] Flight from Nottingham to Tatenhill

Short video from flight between Nottingham (EGBN) and Tatenhill (EGBM). Nottingham is definitely a nice place to fly to! I decided to take a short break at Tatenhill on the way back 'home' to Welshpool. Fortunately the airfield was open after its short closure that day for a fire drill.
Nice and fairly easy route around East Midland's Airport CTA.

Cool video. Good clear footage and a nice landing. I picked up my new sting S4 from Nottingham back in August. This brings back memories. Thanks for sharing.

Another nice flying adventure. Reality TV shows would have. cnstructed a great dramatic moment around whether or not Tatenhill was open or not: maybe a desperate need for fuel, or coffee and a muffins from the cafe, but you rightly downplay the whole issue. Just to pick up on a previous comment, the structure of East Midlands CTA does pose some challenges and you have to watch your altitude very carefully going around it. Must try a zone transit sometime.

Thanks for your comment ;) East Midlands CTA is not so difficult, in that sotuation there was no point asking for zone transit as I was flying West. It would be fun to land at EMA in between heavy cargo traffic in the near future 😅

Really nice video. Just a little error I noticed in the captions and video description.....Nottingham is EGBN not EGNX.

I can see the planned route on SkyDemon was to Trowel then a straight line to Church Broughton easily avoiding the East Midlands CTR. You must either have been watching your track like a hawk or are very familiar with the landmarks that keep you clear. 🙂

Hi Colin, just after take off I was heading towards Derby, the landmarks are prominent in that area due to density. The issue was that Tatenhill was temporarily closed when I was departing from Nottingham and I was not sure if it was going to be possible to land there. Once confirmed I flew S and joined on final.
