Def Leppard played at Freddy Mercury's tribute, and now at Taylor Hawkins a few decades later. They don't take it for granted playing and touring at their age (Joe Elliot's voice sounds amazing still)
Listen...I'm 43 years old and I've always thought Miley had a beautiful voice, but what she does with these songs from the 70s and 80s is nothing short of amazing! Call her what you want but the girl's got some pipes on her!

That's was where I first discovered Miley has amazing voice. Other than (what many called) just another pop artist that won't last long, or wasn't a good singer Definitely wasn't my opinion, back then With the bit of country/vibrato in her voice now (it's not new, just she doesn't have to the "pop" voice), many people who would've once said as above are realising her voice is excellent. I did just watch a clip of her doing rock well over a decade ago & it did sound like a teen attempting to do rock. Good job, but vocal chords just too young. Miley as a rock diva would give current generation* something that's been missing, since 80s. Certainly in bands, since, but no front-woman that was huge. (*are we still at Y, or are Alpha old enough to buying - mean downloading - music, & watching youtube...). Also, Taylor Swift did rock with Def Leppard about 12 years ago & done rock, live, sometimes past few years
@@citybeatdisco19 I actually have that version of Nothing Else Matters downloaded. It was incredible. I'm not a huge fan of most covers (though this particular song can't really be classified a "cover" since Metallica is singing) but there have been a few over the years that are downright amazing and this is one of them.
I found a video compilation of some of her best covers. I would recommend anyone who enjoyed this to check it out. She did everything from Frank Sinatra, Billy Joel, Bob Dylan, Beth Hart, Led Zeppelin (Holy Shit!) Billy Idol and so many more. Her range is incredible.
Miley needs to release a studio version of this along with all her other rock songs she's done kind of off the cuff like this! She sounds absolutely incredible, especially when she first comes out like a bat out of hell 👏
Shout out to Patrick Wilson holding this down on the drums and filling in for the Thunder God. He's an underrated drummer. This is fantastic all around!
The fact that she actually came to perform is enough by itself. Taylor Hawkins as a neighbor told her in a voicemail that she'd kill this track. She did. I'm not a Miley Cyrus fan, I grew up with Def Leapord. His voice is shot thou. Miley killed it. She missed her calling as a rock singer... or perhaps not, lets see.

@Alexander the Grape A lot of female vocalists in rock music do. The only female vocalist in rock I can think of that sounds feminine would be Pat Benetar and Ann Wilson.
i’m a hannah montana kid, but grew up listening to def leppard and especially foo fighters because of my parents. miley was probably the first singer i was ever a HUGE fan of, and watching her evolve as a singer has always been a treat. i’ve always loved the song photograph because of GTA so this was great too 😂

He still has a great voice - in an interview he said his in ear monitors weren't working so he had to go by the PA like the audience, definitely made it more challenging! Listen to him from a Def Leppard show, he still sings great.
Miley is this generation's Debbie Harry, glad she's come through that weird early 2010s phase, now her voice has matured to the point she's killing these classic rock n roll tunes... plus, she's so fucking hot!!

where is Rick Allen tho? Def leppard should be playing with their one armed guy! This is my dads favorite band, playing in the tribute concert for my favorite bands drummer. And Miley Cyrus... i'm impressed! she rocks.
Interesting fact: Miley Cyrus posted on her instagram yesterday the voicemail that Taylor left to her. He asked where she is moving (they were neighbors) and said he's listening to Def Leppard' Photograph and that she would sound absolutely amazing on this song and he would want her to sing it. Now it has the whole new meaning. Miley, you made Taylor proud. She performed for Taylor cause he personally asked her to cover this song. RIP. And she already performed with Foo Fighters in 2015 and Taylor played drums on her song "Night Crawling" feat Billy Idol. Her Plastic Hearts album is amazing and Taylor supported it.

for him to have played a song or two, they would've had to set up his entire electric drum kit and they already had two sets on the stage at the same time. Probably didn't have him play for that logistical reason
