Filmed on April 22, 2023, this features a unique performance by a couple of WWII Warbirds from the Commemorative Air Force (CAF). These are the B-24 "Diamond Lil" and the B-25 "Yellow Rose".
The Consolidated B-24 Liberator is an American heavy bomber, designed by Consolidated Aircraft of San Diego, California. It was used extensively in World War II, serving in every branch of the American armed forces, as well as several Allied air forces and navies, and saw use in every theater of operations. Contracted to be built for France in 1940 and later contracted to be diverted to Great Britain as AM927, "Diamond Lil" was the 25th built out of a total of 18,482 B-24s. It is one of the two B-24s that are still airworthy.
The North American B-25 Mitchell is an American twin-engine, medium bomber manufactured by North American Aviation (NAA). Used by many Allied air forces, the B-25 also served in every theater of World War II and after the war ended many remained in service, operating across four decades. The “Yellow Rose” is one of the flying museum pieces belonging to the organization’s “Ghost Squadron” aircraft collection.
