[4K] Let's Play Ratchet and Clank on PS4 Pro 

one of the best games you can insert inside your ps4....

in terms of image quality, this is the best game I've played so far on the pro, it really looks like native 4k, their technology is really breathtaking

i have played allot of ratchet & clank games and 30fps is smooth as fuck in this game not promoting 30fps but somehow its just smooth in this game

My stefather (R.I.P) use to play R&C every day. I bought him golf games, racing games & adventure/puzzle games.. Then i came home with R&C.. Then he played R&C non stop.. Never ever touched the other games again..

This game would look so much worse if they targeted 60FPS. Glad they chose 30.

I'm happy with my PS4+PC combination, so pumped for the upcoming titles( GoW, Spider-Man etc.)

The complaints in the comments are ridiculous. The machine costs 400 dollars. You're not getting 4K anything native of that price. The point of the system is to enhance framreate and resolution only. The Scorpio will be way more expensive than this because it have more power but it won't do native 4K either. There's no need to keep bitching about it

Ratchet & Clank PS4 has Pixar Quality Graphics PS4 Pro pushing it even further.

Look a those graphics on a 400e box, we have come this far, freaking amazing.

Man this shows what can be done within limitations, I can't think of another game on pc which looks this close to a pixar movie

I can't understand how people can even look at this game. The visuals are so blurry in motion that I literally get ill every time the camera swings around. The PS2 original blows this game away with its pristine 60 fps visuals.

The in-game gameplay of this looks like the cinematic visuals from a crack in time. It's simply amazing.

Really amazing game -so far my favourite on PRO

I will be honest, using a Sony X800D turning HDR on and off the only thing I see is a subtle difference in brightness when it's off. The HDR does create a more natural looking picture but it's not dramatic by any means. Watching these videos always makes me feel like I'm not enjoying HDR like I should but I know I'm doing everything right. The biggest difference in fidelity in a game for me is infamous. That I can clearly see an oversaturated picture with HDR off and it looks so nice turned on. The majority of videos I see for R&C have an oversaturated color which isn't what HDR is meant for. If I turn my color settings up I can match the picture but I try to keep everything in the middle somewhere.

I must agree..I got this to play on my PS4 pro last week and was really impressed with the visual quality.

Loved this game and will surely play it again sometime.

Before everyone complains about the "no 60fps", there is a reason for it. The game was made to run on 30fps from the ground up. If the fps was 60 the game wouldnt work properly. Jumping, shooting etc was made for 30fps not 60, if the game was 60fps they (as in Insomniac) they would have to remake almost the whole game.

I don't understand why Driveclub is not getting the PS4 Pro treatment. 4k at 30 fps or 1080p at 60 fps would be glorious. Sony needs to make it happen.

Just like when enthusiasts upgraded to 1080p from 720p it was nearly impossible to go back to 720p. Just like when those enthusiasts upgraded to 4k from 1080p, it's hard to go back. Now those enthusiasts are adopting HDR and 4K and finding yet again, it's hard to go back. Console games are now FINALLY at a point where I wish they were 15 years when I moved away from console gaming and chose PC as my primary platform. People owe Sony their gratitude and again for the Pro, otherwise there would have been no Scorpio on the horizon and Microsoft would have been perfectly content leaving the bar so low as they did when they launched the Xbox One.

Fantastic gameplay but honestly when Insomniac cut back from aiming for 60 FPS in their games it just doesn't feel quite right. Especially with a series where fluid action with over the top weapons is the name of the game.

Can't wait to play this at 4K 60 on PS5

Its a night a day difference even when played on a 1080p TV, really impressive stuff from Insomniac.

4K is awesome and all, especially for a game that looks half as good as Ratchet and Clank, but will 1080p users be able to play at 60 FPS? I mean i dont have a problem with 30 FPS, but all of the other Ratchet and Clank games run at 60, and id really appreciate being able to play through it again at 60 FPS

Though it's interesting to hear about how the ps4pro manages upscaling to 4K and how dramatic HDR is - which you cannot show us atm, so we have to take your word for it - I think you should focus a little bit more in general on what the pro can do for FullHD screen owners, possibly the majority of your viewers. Just like you did with BF1. Aside from that, I'm really happy with what you are doing, keep up the good work!

Every game should utilize this perfect anti-aliasing technique and this kind of motion blur on their games. Ratchet and Clank looks GORGEOUS and is like a CGI movie now. I can not wait for future R&C games that will most likely be 60fps(based on their reason on why R&C remains 30fps) and of course the new Spiderman game.

The reason an oled tv doesn't benefit from HDR is because the dynamic range is already so phenomenal that you're not going to improve things a lot through software. Better panel=better image quality, there's not much more to it than that.

I have a question that got stuck into my mind for some time now: Does Xbox One S give better backward compatibility results than the original Xbox One? I know some 360 games had FPS issues (like Dark Souls PTDE), and I don't know if the extra power given to the "S" console has an impact on it. Thank you

Every Pro title should have a performance mode like Infamous Second Son. 60FPS is a lot more important than super sampling. Smh.. stupid devs.

Great video guys. 1 of the best looking games of this generation now looks even more amazing! Trust me this RU-vid video doesn't do this game any justice. Seeing is believing & the only way you will see how good that 4k image is,is 2 see pro running with the hdr on! a 1080p 60 mode would've also been nice! I'd rather have an HD 1080p 60 with hdr then 4k personally.

new ratchet and clank ps4 does not exhibit armor upgrades and spaceship upgrades. three questions still hard to extract without buying the game: 1. Does anything other than weapons get upgraded in this game? Nanotech and HP system? 2. How many hours does storyline take at the least? 3. Any replayability added to the game? Multiplayer, or challenges? Plenty of that is ratchet and clank 3.

this game running at 30 fps, REALLY ruined it for me. I've played pretty much all of them, and this one being 30 fps feels really weird and not very satisfying to play.

can't wait to see a side by side comparison between and hdr tv and a non hdr. maybe in some store....

4k 30fps is better than 1080p 60fps. i game in 4k and its a big difference. noobs have to realize they have to buy a new tv and tech now, standard ps4 is outdated.

Why have you guys stoped making frame rate tests for the PS4 PRO? I 'll tell you why, it has the same frame rate performance (or worse ) as my standard PS4 .

Motion blur is horrible. Add 30 fps and we got "a game". Yeah, it is a video game, not a freaking movie! Give 60 fps without motion blur, then we'll talk about money. Even watching this video made me little bit dizzy.

It would be really cool if you guys did a frame rate check on Just Cause 3 on the PS4 Pro. It was buggy and terrible on the original PS4, but maybe the new PS4 will show some better results.

I think that games that came before the PS4 Pro(definitely not exclusive games) will have some problem. Think ppl will have to wait for developers to make patches for the new hardware. Hopefully future games will be better and more prepared

Hi digital foundry, would you take a look at why is the PS4 Pro no able to display the proper HDR settings?. RGB HDR is 4;2:2 8bit and YUV420 is 4:2:0 12bit instead of 10bit
