It’s important to understand the world’s fascination with underwater travel in the late 1950s. The world’s first operational nuclear-powered submarine, the USS Nautilus, undertook a historic quest to travel under the North Pole, beginning June 1958. The voyage amazed the world and served as a major inspiration for Disney Imagineers looking for new ideas for attractions.
Walt Disney once said, “Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world.”
Therefore, 2003 Finding Nemo movie had inspired a revival of the beloved Submarine Voyage at Disneyland CA.
