A 4K clip restoring the original monstrous yell Obi Wan Kenobi used in 1977 to scare off the sand people. Also the rocks in front of R2-D2 have been removed as they were added in 2011. Sourced from the D+77 project
My pleasure! 😊It's what I'm aiming for you and others like yourself; To view these movies how they were first seen, without all the added stuff that ruined these films for many.
It really is a gift to humanity, preserving this iconic movie as those of us who were lucky enough to experience it at theaters did in 1977. Even through all the difficulties of bringing this masterwork to life, Lucas directed the hell out of this thing. I understand Marcia Lucas' editing prowess and John Williams delicate, heartfelt score helped immensely to make Star Wars what it has become, but Lucas wrote and directed it. Simply a monumental achievement. This 4K transfer reminds us how superb Sir Alec Guiness and Mark Hamill's performances are, too. The high definition transfer and colorization faithful to the original release display the glorious Panavision cinematography. So many moving parts working together to create something special. The shot selection and coverage Lucas captured in Tunisia, while sick, under pressure from the studio, dealing with malfunctioning R2 units and bad weather, is gorgeous. It remains a timeless classic, and the 4K Despecialized Version is the optimal way to appreciate it.
I was giving them away during my first go round uploading these clips. Fair warning, the files are HUGE for each movie, 60 GB. What I did was start a free trial with Dropbox for 30 days. I could do it again as I try to live up to my RU-vid name Prometheus and bring fire to the people!
@@highstimulation2497 Yep. 3840 x 2160p and the video quality is about 60 Mbps. They also got at least four different audio tracks each. Empire has a commentary track from the 1993 LASERDISC...
@@helendearden6267I do, sorry for the late reply. Did you ever get your hands on 'de specialized' edits? As explained in the comment thread, I'd give them out more easily but each movie is huge, 60 GB each.
For sure! I know that the 'Official / Special Editions' messed with the sky and what not....so I'll add your request to the list of requests that I'll get to soon hopefully!
This was great. Until the REspecialised edition, where Disney used AI to convert Alec Guinness' voice to sound like Ewan McGregors. And changed it from pretending to not know Artoo to telling Luke all about him.
