I'm a fan sci-fi and action; Examples include Star Wars, Star Trek, Top Gun. I also miss the old art of using practical effects in movies. This channel has a little bit of this and a little bit of that, a hive of various niches and topics, but I always enjoy meeting those who share the same affections do. Just like the Titan Prometheus brought fire to the people from the gods, I too bring 'fire' in the form of clips from movies. I've also just entered the world of 4K resolution and once I've crossed that threshold, I don't want to go back!
Enjoy the content and,
May the Force be with you and Live long and prosper!
I saw a teaser trailer a short time before, whil watching Doc Savage in the theater. I said out loud, after it was over, " I want to see that!" Regretibly, I did not see it on May 4th, ( it was my mothers fault!) However, in June, we went and had to stand in a long line. I mean a LONG LINE!!!! The last movie I previously stood in a line HALF that long was The worlds strongest man by Disney. Lol We were in a group and we had to sit seperatly, wherever we could find an empty seat. Ok, I liked the text going up wards, nice effect. Then, I see Tatoonie, a couple of flashes... Then The Rebel Blockade Runner moves into view, chased by a Star Destroyer, with laser shots flashing everywhere AND MY MIND WAS FOREVER BLOWN!!! I sat in awe, for two hours. Leaving, my mother asked if I was ok, as I was quiet. I was speechless. Now, back then, the only way to see it again was to pay and stand through those lines again. Im embaressed to say I only saw it a paltry four times at the theaters. ( I know, I know...LIGHTWEIGHT!!!) I love how in that 70's show they had the guys trying to find every excuse to go see Star Wars again and again...because thats how it was!!!!! 😂
He probably went from “Chang” to “Captain” after the bird-of-pray completely explodes right under his face. The next thing he knows, he hears children playing “The Sound of Music.”
Love the way the Super Star destroyer jinks to the right between the Lowering shot and when they rigged it to explode and start the camera again. As soon as I saw them flying through the fleet I knew this was return of the Jedi, models still, and not flying where they look like they should be going.
Even if you haven't seen RotJ, this 9 minute scene tells a better story than most of the bloated 3-hour long, overly cgi movies Hollywood gives us today. Not only are the practical effects on point, but the pacing and editing are perfect.
Still wonder how those gunner techs, who stand on that railing free platform (thanks Family Guy), survive the massive energy blast that is a part of the super laser discharge. (I know that it is science/space fantasy, and that normal/known physics probably don't mesh up in this universe. But, damn, the heat and radiation still has to be a killer.
So in the original original release Darth Vader never says “the force is strong with this one” when targeting Luke? That was the special edition 1997? I’m having Mandela effect I could have sworn that was original. Someone help me please?
Never really noticed this... As Lando and Wedge enter the reactor chamber, two tie interceptors follow. Lando and Wedge make their shots against the reactor and it turn to leave. At 8:00, I just noticed that one of the interceptors popped from the energy discharge and the other follows out behind Lando and gets blowed up later in the escape when the flames of explosion catch up to him. Never did notice that first guy getting blown up.
That swarm if tie fighters is absolutely amazing and horrifying the rebels were outnumbered at elat five to one it just shows how skilled they were to kot he immediately destroyed.
Honestly as good as this is, this makes me appreciate the uncyt version more. The ground battle on endor and the battle on the deathstar with this give more of a sense of how long this is taken and how long the wach battle is actually lasting
8:01 Such a beautifully crafted shot. While I consider RotJ to be the weakest of the three originals, it has some of my favorite scenes in the entire trilogy. Fight in front of the Emperor, the final space battle, Vader’s redemption. It was the weakest film overall, but had the benefit of the narrative coming together and it landed the finale flawlessly and wrapped everything up. It’s a film that deserves more credit than it gets.
I was 5 years old when SW was released in the UK. It's the first film I remember seeing in the cinema. I remember the cinema being PACKED and people lending my mum their coats to put under me so i could see over the person in front of me. Obviously I comepletely freaked over the film, like everyone back then, and I remember having a competition with a school friend over who could be the first to see the film three times (which I won). Good times, only to be equalled by the released of Empire.....
