Not the most pleasant of conditions to be out in, especially so if it can be avoided. But touching on that, I heard about this study a few years ago which linked milder winters with a rise in crime. The theory being that the colder weather kept ne’er do wells off the streets, whilst in mild winters those with a criminal bent were more apt to be out looking for opportunities. It sounded reasonable.

I don't like the cold but there's just something about being outside when it's snowing. Especially at Christmas time. The peaceful quiet and the smell of firewood.
