Took a very early morning, very quiet walk in downtown Winnipeg via the Midtown Bridge. Wandered through some streets to Portage Ave and ended up in the West Exchange district.
Spotted a group of photographers on a quiet and perfectly lit street, got closer to a few stunning buildings that we had been before, and marveled at a church from the 1880's.
Places we passed by: Mayfair Rec Centre, Naval Centre, La Roca, Eph Apparel, Wpg Police Headquarters, Millennium Library, City Place Mall, MTS Centre, The Met, The Paris Building, The Lindsey Building, The Argyle Building, Garry Street Coffee, Into the Music, PanAm Boxing, Peasant Cookery, Chosabi, Bronuts, Kings Head Pub, Lark Cafe, Haberdashery, Saint, ShawarmaKhan, ArtSpace, The Royal Albert and More!

I liked how you gave background and history to these buildings. Really liked the old buildings with their ornateness and detail. Back in the day they knew how to do this. Awesome video as always. Yours Cynthia

Thanks Cynthia. Yes I’ve been reading up on areas before heading out and the history is pretty awesome. Even the way so much of it blends together. And YES the detail in the buildings is just.... drool.

Great Walk! Winnipeg is my favourite prairie city, it has a lot more interesting urban character than Calgary or Edmonton, IMO.

And what a lovely hood it is! My husband and I nearly bought a loft in the ashdown back when we were first together (25 yrs ago!) but didn’t and always regretted it so now we’re looking in the same building for one when our daughter moves out!!

It opened in 69-70 as the Noethstar Inn, And the two theaters were North Star 1 & 2. Famous Players Theaters.

I wandered along the campus in the Exchange but it was freezing cold and mid-covid-lockdown so nothing was actually open. It was the 17th video I believe.

we move to Daylight saving time ( summer time) in hebrew( shaon (clock ) kaitz means summer ) back to 8 hours difrence between winnpeg and israel for example 9 am morning in winnpeg 1700 afternoon in israel .

@@dhiyaeddinetitouche8669 we still have some restrictions in place (limited people in stores and restaurants etc) but quite a bit is open yes. Sadly some downtown businesses didn’t manage to stay afloat during the pandemic and have closed but lots are starting to open up again, which is exciting.
