William , a Short story long will follow. My wife and i travelled to Norway for a few days on a European holiday a couple of years ago after watching your travel Vlog through Europe. I was inspired to travel through Africa after watching your vlog also ,So , after meeting some family in a London pub in 2018 and suggesting to my brother-inlaw that we should do a long trip on our bikes, ( hey! what about Africa i said) he said he was already planning a trip to Europe for 4 months riding from London to Greece then back to London then from lands end to the top of Scotland. Well i had already had a few pints in me by now and said to the inlaw I'M IN when do we go , the beginning of 2020 he said. Plans were made for 18 months, a triumph tiger was purchased with all the fruit. The bikes were stuffed in a container leaving Sydney Australia bound for the Uk in Febuary 2020. Covid.........
Cool, looking forward to seeing your trip, especially because of the time of year. I want to do it next year, and time it to see the Northern Lights. Your trip will be super helpful to watch! Cheers.
Like many others I really got interested in traveling on my motorcycle by watching The Long Way Round. But, William, watching your videos made it happen. Watching you do it all on your own, was deeply inspiring and after a rough time in my life I took the plunge. I only travel a week at a time, but living in Denmark I have decent access to Norway and Europe in general so lots to experience in short time. Thanks.
Google The Long Way Round with Ewan McGregor and Charlie Boormann. Also The Long Way Down which isn't as good and The Long Way Up which I haven't seen.
You know, I was never fishing. I would probably get tangled in a fishing line to the limit and then crawl to the radio trying to send may day. Good to see you.
Thank you for that mate nice to see you up and about and on the bike again and planning trips, very difficult for us in Europe to plan trips at the moment with so many restrictions but keep safe and keep the videos coming 👍👍👍👍
I too have the 2016 Africa twin I've watched all your vogues and I'm glad you're gonna be going to Alaska thanks for sharing with us we haven't heard from you in a little while keep up the good work
Beautiful, flat as a millpond ! Merican doing a Merican accent, confusing !? Absolutely great, for you and us viewers. I just love your vlogging style. After watching your travels I decided to kit out my Africa Twin with SW Motech panniers etc. As I’ve quoted a few times ‘If it’s good enough for William Gloege etc’ !😂. Anyway, you’ve certainly played a part in me venturing further - From Wales to Barcelona next month. Thanks 👍
So glad you are back! I have a trip planned up to Tuk for the last 2 years but with covid it just has not been possible. We are planning for next year now. My wife will be driving our base camp and vehicle support so not roughing it at all. I live in Bragg Creek Alberta just west of Calgary. If you are ever in the area and need a place to crash it would be awesome to meet you! Safe travels! PS. I love how you keep things positivE!
Hey William, been following your channel for quite some time now. From a fellow at owner you just made me miss my boat that i had to sell last year ( fkg covid lockdown). Keep it coming.💪 ps i gut my exhaust and the cat.... totally diffrent bike.
Man really Alaska my dream ride. I bought a Africa Twin in hopes of riding to Alaska myself but it has become apparent that I cant get more than a week at a time off. And living in coastal South Carolina I wont be going :( suck that we work our whole live to afford to do things and by the time most of us can we are to old or dead. Enjoy it for me. I wanted to ride to Pruedoe Bay. O well.
Mate I've just come across your channel while checking out the Africa Twin. We're in lockdown here in Australia so I'm going to be binging on your adventures. Very keen on the AT and moving away from the GS. Could be interesting! Keep doing what you're doing, I'm loving it!
If you want to stay a night with a guy with a "real" Africa Twin, let me know. I'm in Oregon between the coast and Portland and we have a guest room for motorcycle travellers. But you mentioned something about September. That may not work then as we are riding the first 3 weeks of September to, in and from Colorado. Maybe on your way down again?
If you have the time on your way up to stop in Portland and have a break with a subscriber(I expect there is more than 1 in the area), please ping me on FB and we will make it happen.
