It's that time of year where I take a week of 'vacation' time to run the big round baler for Dad. Looks like fun running the mower with the '66 as people have told me they're a comfortable tractor to run.
I sure enjoy your videos of your farm and all the effort you put into caring for your crops. I never realized how tough it is. May God bless you real good
If there is no wrapper available , you can put wet bales under bunkerfolie and shovel same dirt on the plastic where it touches the ground. So you can make baylage.
Thats the way we roll... Mr. Farmer on the Prairie. It is a honest man day of farming. Not what you always want. Play with the hand dealt. Enjoyed and laughed at your and Seth use of the new bailer. Would have been with you both wanting to use it. Momma D your editing was perfect... Can see your efforts at it best.. Received package. Was excited as a school child. Letter to you and Elizabeth going out this week. Thank you, thank you. You made my whole month. Blessing and God's love to all of you. Russell Carter in Houston, Texas
I try to mow my hay high, gets it up off the ground for faster drying. That’s when a Tedder is handy. I even installed the extra thick skids on my Krone in order to leave a little taller stubble.
You have to be brave and willing to takes loses if you are a farmer. It is not a simple life. It requires brains, education, hard work, and lots of prayers. Blessing to your family. God will provide, I know he will.
U should get a wraper then you can wrap the bales when they're wet they will keep and not mold as long as there is no holes in the wrap. Also the rake you should look at is the new Holland pro wheel rake it is what we got and it works very good.
That's farming! You have to take the bad with the good. One good note is that baler is a gem! I'm down in central Texas and we had a good spring and early summer but then no rain for seven weeks. When it did rain we got five inches in six days. When it rains it pours! Keep smiling. We love your family farming videos.
I can't imagine the stress that farmers go through with the weather. All the hard work can be destroyed in a few days. Sad to see the hay did not work this time. Thanks for a great video.
Good to see that the new baler makes tight cores! I see that they were moved, so I suppose a bale spear worked. It is hard to see such nice hay go to waste, but that happens especially at year's end with slow drying conditions and rain.
👍👌🇨🇦❤, there are times my dad throws caution to the wind, and bales the hay at a higher moisture percentage than he normally would, otherwise you can lose it, but we don't store it in a shelter, the round bales go into spaced out rows and the bales do not touch, allowing the wind to bring down the moistire level, and hopefully not have any self combust, but he has done it at 18%, round bales hold the heat ,onger than smaller square bales, 🤞, my dad and brothers have been doing this for along time and no issues, all the best with your growing channel
I can't believe how neat you stay My grandfather would have 14 patches on his bib overalls and that is just where they hit the tractor seat O and chew tobacco lots of chew tobacco.lol
Sorry for the disappointment in the hay...however you certainly tried. To bad someone didn’t want it for some green chop. Hope that this doesn’t mean that you won’t have enough feed for the winter. Farmers life is never easy. .
DOTP is getting pretty good at this. Love to see your growth as a YT family. BTW, videography, music, and content continues to get better & better. Funny how the mistakes farmers make is great content. Never get to the point that you edit films to make farming look like a bowl of peaches because this, folks, is real farming. Good, bad, and moldy. Thanks from So.Ill.
That's too bad. I just finished my hay ( from grass) yesterday. (The Netherlands) We made round bales that get individually wrapped in plastic. Although we had sunny weather, the dew kept it quite wet all night until half way the day. The bales got heavy, but will be usable and of quite good quality.
Sorry about the rain on the hay.it will still fair enough as long as you gdont get more.even more annoying is the fact that manufacturers of machinery dont always make parts ot the machime as well as the should.l noticed the hitch ont he rake had been rebuilt. So often things luke that happen loo p
Make 'em tight. The spear will penetrate. The hay might have dried a bit more if you kicked it again. Making hay in the fall is truly an art. I know you guys will have to learn to adjust to solid core bales. You talked about a McHale baler... twice as solid as your Claas.
if possible would give you 3 more or more thumbs up seeing you dad work cool if you want more milk cow we can help out, the only problem is the cow language is Canadian moo lol why didn't ou squared bale it instill wait to round bale it we like to chop it for silage here for the dairy cow we are too far from the farm to make it work we cut and bale right after it cut we haul the bales to the farm and chop the bale up and blow it into the silage pits we do test the silage we making if we need moister we can add a bale that has a hight moister or just add water it needed with the dairy mix and the silage, the cows have seemed better milk higher cream the dairy plant says bonus for us lol we handle a lot more bale them you do we switch to clamps them the fork something to think about does not worry about the middle of the bale any more to my nephew said we make giant marshmallow when we wrap bales too he going on 4 this year he mad at us we do not have ice cream cows lol all he knows the wite thing better have a sandwich made for him when he hungry yea life as a 4 year lol we have a very large sandbox for the kids to play in fenced off for all animal he spent the summer there lol he started to see how we make giant sand carving too her gotten better at it too why we keep the animals out of the sand lol for the big kids like me to plat too
