At around 55:30 the player rolled a strike, and the table didn’t come down to feel for pins, instead just swept the alley and set up pins. Other times when a strike was thrown the table did come feel for pins. Was that just a fluke?
Because the machine didn’t get triggered by the ball at 54:53 the computer that controls the machine and calculates the scores probably thought that it was a second throw.
My guess is that the ball at the 55:30 mark was the "fill ball" in the 10th frame of whatever game they were in. However, I have seen some newer scorers, especially QubicaAMF ones, switch A-2's to the 2nd ball cycle and sweep deadwood after a strike (mimicking what most AMF machines have done since at least the 1980's) rather than lowering the deck as they always have done. In my opinion this can actually slow the machine down, especially faster machines like this one.
sad you got rid of your old youtube liked all your vids the one where they wouldn't let you film at one center the title was bc lanes not comfortable with camera
It has a ball wheel in the back that rotates the opposite direction from the pin wheel. It's steel with cork strips on it and they scratch the crap out of balls. You're thinking about the AMF ball returns.
You're thinking about AMF systems. The new Brunswick GSX system has the ball return you are describing. A 2s are relics that basically started in 1956 and were updated in 1963. A lot of moving parts, wear points and adjustments to be made. Hated working on the A 2s.
@@keithchrysler3732 A2's are easy AF to work on once you get a grasp for them. Not sure why you hated them so much. 2000 plus frames per stop at my center. Excluding re-spots and deadwoods that number would be double that. Not too shabby for a "Relic".
@@reconbbs360 The machines we had were in terrible condition and we were making parts just to keep them running! We had new parts on a dock in Muskegon Michigan, 1900 miles away from us. I was traveling up that way in May and I offered to haul them back via a u haul. They declined my offer. I offered again in October and they refused again. I quit and they sold all 4 bowling alleys to a Minnesota company for 9.62 million dollars. I smelled that one coming!
You can adjust the ball cushion mechanism to trigger the machine with lighter balls, but the impact of the pins could trigger the machine before the ball impact. And it can become an issue…
For me I love the GS Pinsetters, they can set any kind of pin combination without needing a mechanic and in my opinion the pin detector plates are more accurate to score than any external camera except for the Japanese ones where they mount the camera on the pindeck light. Regardless of Free Fall Pinsetter reliability, they're so much better than any cheap StringPin Garbage.
