Youll blow holes in the piston tops and burn up the rings before hurting the block if your trying sling rods. From factory the magnum blocks were built 30% stronger than a typical engine block. They have maganese built into the casting mix that makes the blocks stronger.

Been watching the build. Nice that you build dodge. One thing you could have done instead of bashing on the header and p/s pump is do the 4.0 Jeep p/s swap. It only takes up 1/3rd the space and it's made to power 4X4 suspension. The reservoir can be remote located and gives extra room. I know you're build is done but as all builds changes are always made.

Great vid, go ahead with cam swap, I’m following along closely as I plan to do a similar ‘high torque, low budget’ build on my 125k mi 5.9, gonna just flip manifolds side to side, collect them on the front right corner with a single freshly rebuilt Garrett GT38, two external 38mm wastegates (one set to 6psi, one set to 8psi) and I’m thinking it should build boost barely off of idle, and give me some monster tq in my lifted 4x4

Been wanting to see a video on the 2nd gen gas with turbos - all others are on the diesels. My 99 5.9 just took a dump on me, burned out the bearings after I rebuilt the 46re - hopefully your takes the beating from those turbos lol good job!

If you do a cam, you could gap the rings to like .28 then it keep the rings from smacking and breaking top of pistons, to see what it’d really hold lol

I'm guessing the access panel on the bottom of the intake will go first, followed by the 46RE.....in that order. Unless one includes tyres in the list of destruction.

I’m really digging the build Just started watching your videos on what to do what not to do when turbo charging a magnum engine. The question I have is why 318 is that because of what you had or is it a better block than the 360?

Can you put turbos on a gas cylinder 5.9L?

Did you take standard headers and just reverse them? Ie driver side on passenger side etc I want to single turbo my 01 5.2 so it will move out of its own way.
