@ICEEransom 4200 dude the trucls arnt that heavy yall are dumb when it comes to weight yall think every truck weights 6000 since all the new trucks are heavy like research 😂
I know this is an older video, but I've watched this about a dozen times now, and I gotta say, My 2001 cant get anywhere near 12's even with all the mods I've done. I will admit that the stock RE46 trans ( mine only has a raised stall, and shift kit ) is maybe the biggest problem making decent power to the wheels on these trucks...and yeah, I know the 318/360 magnums are NOT big HP motors unless you stroke or induct them like yours.. but wow...stock motor making that run is pretty well done. Mines a daily driver as well....just wish I could get more out of it....nice stuff man.
@@kidfwaygo5392 I've gone as far as I can on cams now. ( Just did my third one..) And it does ok, but the last step for me will be the super charger. There's a few made for these trucks.. but I'm at the point where the charger, is pretty damn close to the cost of a 408 stroker, already pushing about 470hp...we'll see.
well, i just bought one here in germany. now i know it can take a supercharger no problem. soooooo. time to save some money. Did i mention mine is a manual transmission ^^
As a mechanic I know how sorry assed the new hemi is. Fun when it works but putting lifters and cam in it around 100k. The 318 and 360 are really good engines. Got 200k on mine and still drive it up and down the interstate 6 hrs each way. My younger brother is a "dodge" guy. Had some fun cars. Got a 95 ford lighting Im thinking about as well. Somethin bout my dodge truck though. Wanna hear that ole bumpstick going clacty clack.
I wish I could here what he said. I just got my own 5.2 2001 ram and looking to make more power I was thinking twin turbo's really would love to see a list of things he's done with supercharger
Stock 5.2 block with 275,000 miles. Vortech blower on 10lbs with a FlyinRyan tune. 3.92 gears, trans built by a guy named Frank I think, high stall converter.
@@arthurwarren2able The only part of the 360 that was forged was the connecting rods. Everything else...pistons, etc...wasnt forged. So if it was...then it wasn't stock.
@@dalemllns If you want a better Hemi tuner, check out Jay Greene. Made a huge difference when I switch from Ryan to Jay. Ryan is a great magnum tuner.
dude didnt the 1994 ram come with a v10 option, why not just get one of them.and im not talking about the diesel, i mean an actualy v10 option as the highest model and a cummins as the 2nd best option. the 300HP v10 if i remember.
Also almost no performance market for the magnum v10. A blower if you can find one, tune, exhaust, rockers, cam if you can find one. Solid engines but can make better overall performance from the v8
ChillingCap8365 v10 was in the 3/4 and 1 ton trucks. The 1/2 ton had a V6 or the 2 V8s. I don’t think the V10 was above the Cummins by any means though. The Cummins was definitely the top option.
I have the same motor, what supercharger do you have??? as my truck sits, its v8 magnum, to a 3 speed hydroglide, to a 410 geared rearend. I want to know what supercharger to look for. any advice is welcome too
I got a Motorfansclub Remanufactured Roots Supercharger Compressor Blower Booster Turbine Fit For Compatible With 1.0-2.2L AMR500 Universal and was wondering if it fits the 1996 Dodge Ram 1500
Tons, but be careful, you can dump a ton of money into these Magnums, and still be behind the power scale of most modern motors out there. I took mine to the limits before I finally ProCharged it to get ABOVE what most new motors, ( even 6 cylinders) are putting out now.
@@diyjman5259 I second that and you don't even need to change your Cam or heads... change thermostat to a 180° if I remember and do coolant changes very often, E.quest heads are best budget option IMO and better than stock
@@TheBb6prelude A good shift kit fixes them right up. They are setup to slip way to much, stock. I have a Trans-Go kit and the shifts are Ferrari crisp, no slip at all and not even annoying. These trucks are the definition of modern classics, keeping them stock(ish), cared for and properly modified, is an investment IMO.
Alot. The only difference between the 5.2 and 5.9 is stroke. Most upgrades are the same parts. The one in the vid is supercharged, ( equals $$$ ) but you can upgrade alot on it before you go that deep.
It would have been the 46RE if it was stock.. but its not stock, he says in the interview its a Frank Lupo Tranny I think...with a huge stall for a stock motor...
I have a dodge that burns through oil fast as fuck what would be the reason for this? I don’t have blue smoke so I’m not too sure where all my oil is going lol. Does ur dodge burn oil quick too?
Intake manifold plenum gasket leaking oil into intake and burning it away. You'll never see this leak dripping, but it's there. Just take your intake hose off and open the throttle and have a peek inside. You'll see some residue at the bottom. It happens to every single magnum engine out there. They make aluminum plates to replace the thin steel one it has that will fix the issue from ever happening again.
@@bobbysmith1267 he has a 3 speed non overdrive 727. Not a fun street trans with 3.92 gears. Stock trans with a good builder will be plenty. They wont last if not gone through
