Oh my god! Bruh! You just showed us that we can now have 3 calibers in one platform! Friggin awesome find! Thank you for the info. I am sending off my barrel to have BSD’s threaded insert put on.
Cool Project! I searched out a much much more budget option of the M&P 15-22 pistol for the sole purpose of an HD weapon for my wife, utilizing the Federal Punch brand .22. Pretty impressive cartridge. Great content as always-
Compared to a 5.56, it’s a much slower moving projectile with about the same diameter. So if anything, it will wear your rifling slower than normal. The barrel will likely need more frequent cleaning, however.
On my dedicated .22 AR-15 I use a BetterMag adapter so I can run S&W 15-22 magazines with my CMMG bolt. Curious if it would work with rattler. I think it should given that the magazine well should be same dimensions as an AR.
@InferiorRifles I wonder tho theres more to it than that. All they had to do really was add a disclaimer to not use cans and they wouldn't be responsible really. I think it's a mix of that tho, plus by adding a can you effectively lengthen the barrels length but still have the dwell time of a super tiny barrel. It's made so all that extra pressure just vents out the front before the bolt unlocks and opens. Adding a can will now make it a hazard possibly for out of batteries I think. That... would deffo be a major reason why to idiot proof it. Then combine the two reasons and yeah they tried to make it super safe. I wonder if the military ones are threaded solely for blank fire adapter use? Hence why they keep them for training only. If they allowed live ammo in them around cans it may go kerboom. I have wondered if maybe using a bulletproof tough can that don't have a minimal barrel length that's rated for even belt fed use like a Rugged Razor, but in 30 cal would be a sort of a workaround the dwell time issue? Seems like it would reduce the boom yet still not seal it so much as to create a spike of pressure by using a 30 size bore all the way thru? Just a thought I've had while seeing these discussed. Anyways, just thought I'd add that little nugget that has crossed my mind. I haven't seen it mentioned elsewhere. But yeah maybe something to discuss with your subscribers when the 556 is concerned. I'd like to hear your thoughts on it too. Thanks bud good videos!
I appreciate you so much with the knowledge and wisdom that you possess. Every item that you always show. I fall into a trance and I am just hypnotized of the incredible things that you do with each project that you do. And I am always thankful I learned a lot off you. I want to get me the 300 blackout King break just watch the videos that you make on it. Because you push me right into that one I love that one so much too. I look forward for the future of the mystery videos that you always put out. And I thank you very much for you taking your time to make these videos from the bottom of my heart 💓 amen freedom 🇺🇸. Really cool idea! An even quieter LVAW that you can plink with for a fraction of the cost. I am very curious to hear how well a can that size works on a 22LR. 5:19 not to nitpick, but S&W MP15-22 mags require an adapter to function properly in a standard AR15 lower. (I'd assume the same adapter would work in an MCX lower but I don't know for sure.) I have a 4.5" .22 SBR with an Aero lower and the BetterMag adapter works great for me and my pile of S&W mags.
I would frame it differently. A 3k backpack rifle that can shoot 3 different calibers (22LR, 556, 300 BLK) that are fairly fast’ish to switch over (barrel/BCG) and easy to also transport versus a rifle and 2 different uppers like a AR15 would need.
@@beck4218 I have a 300BLK Rattler too but also have the 556 barrel and the 22LR kit. It’s like 8 cents a round to shoot 22LR but way more for 300BLK. So thats why I did it. I can stock the more expensive stuff and use it sparingly but still stockpile it. I don’t think any of these options are silly. It’s silly not to have options because at the end of the day I still have a 300BLK rattler. Also I spent about 2k on my 300BLK rattler and with the extra barrel and threading with the 22LR kit maybe 2800 total I’ve put into my setup.
@@chriscurtis83 I deleted my last. lol the idea is growing on me. Why not have a dedicated 22LR platform with thew same size, weight, dimensions for training? I own a M249S (with 300 rds thru it over 3 years) and just bot the Para model so who am I to talk. I won't even shoot it.
