Who knows, but in 2011, Japan had these same tremors for 2 weeks ( new tremors every day) before their subduction zone ruptured causing so much destruction.
the more that happen without consequence the better. it relieves the tension between the plates and generally reduces the chance of a "big one" rather than act as some sort of foreshadowing. no need to chicken little over it.
@@TDCLOL that is actually false in a sense. It takes 1000 4s to equal a 5. The scale is logarithmic, so the energy scale of a 9, which is a full rupture of the Cascadia, can’t possibly be taken up by this crustal movement. We are in the average window for a full span rupture, but it’s gone as long as 1000 years without rupturing. So it’s both possible and likely but the one thing for sure is it’s coming and nothing is going to stop it. The number one rule in geology is if it happened before, provided the mechanism still exists(which in our case it does) it will happen again.
