When I blew a head gasket in my 6.7 I wondered how this could happen since I had never had a 5.9 head gasket issue. When I pulled the head and saw those coolant passages I knew exactly why. That was 2012. I haven't bought another 6.7 since.
Seriously this was awesome can you do another one of these videos with the 4 cylinder B series? 3.9(5.9), 4.5(6.7) and specifically additional proprietary info for the 3.3 block?
So could I bolt the gear housing and stuff to a 5.9 p pump from the 6.7 I’m asking because I have a 6.7 the locked up from no oil and I have a good 12v out of a 96 I want to swap in and get the sensors to bolt up for transmission to work?
6.7 sits further up in the truck by about 1-2” compared to when I had the 5.9 in I had to trim off that much on the turbo tubes and floor for the g56 or maybe it’s me idnk
Should have too. The mounts are in the same spot ( well I pretty sure that are ) I have put them in a few trucks no issues. That said if you used a 6.7 engine plate it’s deep by 1/8 of a inch of so
I would like your opinion. I have a 2017 6.7 in my RAM 5500 and would like to add a coolant block drain for maintenance purposes. Where would you place it? Thanks in advance Luis
Hey Rob, so the larger 8 plate 6.7L cooler will fit in the 5.9L & not have any adverse effects? Also what CR engine years can you add a 2nd piston squirter too #6 & what size ect? You once told me I could shim the oil bypass spring 50k to increase the psi to safely run compounds & a bypass or centrafuge. Would your also drill & tap the cooler for its own port or T off one of the turbos ? I like the idea of a separate port, where is the best place to ads one? Thanks ! Dusty
What about the motor mount areas I know the old 12 valve is 4 bolt what about 98 and 1/2 to 2002 24-valve versus the Gen 3 the 5.9 and the 6.7 Cummins are they all 6 bolt and in the same area?
@@CUTTERUPROB so you could interchange the mount bracket between the blocks? well better put, Is the bolt holes for the mounts the same pattern across all the blocks?
ok 2 questions #1 will that common rail girdle fit on a 12 valve storm block? #2 will a 12 valve head bolt on to a 6.7 block? just curious I've never tried to mix parts from common rail/ 6.7 to 5.9/12 valve stuff.
why would you build a 6.1 when a 6.7 is available? I noticed your video where you sleeved the block back to 5.9. was that for running a 12 valve head? my question I guess is why lose cubic inches when the stroke is the same? can't find any info on torque differences with bigger cubes and the same stroke. I am building one right now but wonder if it is a waste of money.
alot has to do with what you want to do with it, i sleeve the 6.7 block to a std 5.9 sore for strength, the ad dis of the 6.1 does make a different in spool and torque, but really comes down to what you want,
I installed a 6.7 on my 05 ram i have it running with 5.9 fuel system, and injectors from original engine only issue is it smokes at 1,300-1,500 rpm what adjustments can I make?
What factory girdle is best ? And what size bolt for an early 6.7 bought and engine and they are missing bolts and girdle. And the early girdle is discontinued and so are the bolts please help thanks i. Advice
@@CUTTERUPROB that what i was thinking too i just didn't know if having the holes and drop down in the new one would be better for keeping oil on the crank. Do u know what size bolts they are to hold them on because those where missing and i cant find a size and dont what to rip the old engine apart
I might buy a 1998 12 valve. But I read around in 1998 had some 53 casting. Can you do a video on the best and worst casting in Cummins blocks. And does the 1998 12 valve use 53 blocks. Thanks
Witch this series. It will question your questions First video of the 6.7 Ppump engine build series ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Y2kjX4sSewI.html
@@CUTTERUPROB Ah man that sucks shit. Luckily the thief that tried to steal mine was so incompetent that they only managed to mess up my door and door handle and nothing else. Still disappointing none the less
It’s not that easy. If you want to run a 12v head with it as a 6.7 the pistons design doesn’t work with small injectors. I will do a video of what I mean shortly
@@CUTTERUPROB makes sense! Im piecing stuff together and thought if it's worth while i can focus on that instead of just redoing 5.9 12v engine but a video would be greatly appreciated!
