@slm3409 Yeah that's what I thought they were after the trailer. But I'm also trying to consider the fact that Nintendo wanted to make a distinction between the literal tears and the secret stones. If Nintendo wanted these things to be named different, then it should be sacred stones. If they didn't care, secret stones should have been called tears.
Hers is a yellowish gold similar to the color of urbosa’s champion ability icon. You can see the color more clearly in a few shots. I’m not surprised either as the seven tears likely correlate to the sages/abilities of the champions as well. Hence blue for zora, green for rito, and etc. That or the theory of ending the cycle of demise coming into play with him resurrecting in some way.
Also worth noting those tears are Magatama - incredibly important shapes from Shinto mythology. They are associated with the most prominent gods (kami) and ancient artifacts in that shape are frequently found in ancient Japanese archaeology.
I like how Tulin got an expanded role... but what happened to his dad? EDIT: so many answers, even now... what can I say... thanks for your kindness people. However there is no need to further answer to this comment, as I posted it back when totk was yet to be released, and we had no idea of what happened to his Teba, but now we do, and I know he became the new elder of Rito Village.
Well he did get injured when fighting vah med oh so maybe he just hadn’t recovered or something. Especially because birds usually have hollow bones which would make them harder to repair
So many people keep ignoring that one, another thing about that person is their jewelry actually match that of Link's new hand, so I guess they're the one who has been holding Ganondorf down?
@@pigeongod3450 I think Zelda when she falls Link uses recall on her while trying to save her, sending her back in time. I bet that man is a zonai, and we see clues left behind by zelda in the past to gather the tears. That's why you see her stuck in a sky island in the trailer, which at that point is on the ground, not the air. So it's probably the past
@Weldon101 the sky islands were once part of the ground world, but they were sent skyward with the Hylians to keep them safe. They stayed in the sky for a long time believing the earth below them was just a myth until the events of Skyward Sword
That’s the same character as the goat zonai guy (i think) who we also see in the trailer. Seems like he is the sage of light, and we will be gathering the 7 sages in this game.
That could be the case, but in botw, gerudo lightning was themed with yellow, both with the desert and with the color of urbosa’s fury. Unless there is another character that is from the Faron region, which isn’t very unlikely, chances are that Riju’s tear is the tear for electricity
@@grayson8059 In BotW lighting efects were coloured greenish yellow because they were linked to the goddess Farore. Farosh for example has the same colouring. It looks like elemental effects for TotK will be coloured according to the spirit medallions of OoT. That's why Raju's lightning effects have been changed to orange from the green lightning shield she had back in BotW, because this time it will be associated with spirt or vitality. I'm expecting this to mean that there will be a Sheika champion with a purple shadow power & tear. The 7th tear will most likely be time themed.
@@7PlayingWithFire7 I was thinking there may be 8 or 9 bcuz there's an 8th heroine and at 1 point we see 2 tears together above the woman & creature...those might be separate from the 7 above the being by himself. So then it would be 9 total
@@krishnamckay3247 there’s probably 8 tears, as they were probably used by the 8 heroines, or sages, that we hear about in botw. We know the tears will grant link abilities, as Zelda’s grants him recall, and the heroines were known to have had unique and powerful abilities they used to seemingly protect hylia. The 8th Heroine, who, in this game, will be ganondorf, was banished from the other 7. The 2 tears we see together are probably the tear of light and zelda/hylia’s tear, as they are above the zonai sage of light and hylia on the mural. I doubt the 8th tear would be mentioned as the 8th heroine was seemingly fully erased from history, except from their devout worshipers who built a secret statue of the heroine and a possible resting place for their tear.
But in the Artbook there’s a mural of the big eared entity is labeled as Rauru or Raul (translated from Japanese) with 7 tears around him. He could be the sage of light from Ocarina of time.
Since you made the spirit medallion comparison, there could be a purple tear as well. The red tear probably isn’t held by Ganondorf, and is instead in a Death Mountain dungeon. The purple tear could be found in a shadow temple dungeon in one of those scary underground locations shown in one of the trailers.
Well my theory that the “tears” were the pieces of debris falling from the new areas in the sky that I thought was old hyrule “kingdom” are in absolute tatters.
It’s odd that we call them tears, but the characters don’t. They’re just referred to as “secret stones” 💀 Imagine Wind Tear, Fire Tear, Lightning Tear, Water… Tear…
The tear Zelda held had the recall ability sign on it, so most likely the abilities with the rings around them in game come from completing the equivalent of divine beasts
Apparently people have already figured out the plot and the red one that Ganondorf has is supposed to be the Gorons fire tear and Ganondorf has taken it.
Except he's been smoked by Ganon as Ganon has the fire tear. This makes sense as Teba also apparently met a terrible fate too but managed to pass the Wind Tear onto his son before death by Ganondorf.
@@beboy97 Have you played Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, or Breath of the Wild? Ganon has killed sages/champions before. It's likely that Yunobo survived his defeat by Ganon because his Daruk's Protection, but Teba is not so lucky unfortunately as he's most likely dead given, unlike Yunobo, he has no Daruk's Protection. So Teba's definitely gone. Otherwise Tulin would not have taken his place as the new Rito champion.
@@PJCVita92 well actually ganondorf probably has something like a malice tear and in the scene where we see Sidon and riju seeming to attack something there is a Goron weapon so it would make sense it’s yunobo
@PJC92 i feel like its usually always the water sage/zora though. Unless they changed it up a little. In TP and WW he killed the water/zora sage. But in WW he also killed the earth sage.
Ganondorf is now a sage because he discover that demise has used him and know is helping link defeating him, that why zelda said that link isnt strong enough this time cause he need more help from ganondorf maybe
You can barely see Gandorfs red gem? The rest are clear but the analysis machine must be on fire if you can see that, but you know what else is on fire? Burning Shores DLC next week! Strike like the Ten!
The secret stones are not the tears of a kingdom. The tears of a kingdom are the tears that Zelda cried when turning to an immortal Dragon. Showing you the memories
Green, orange, blue, gold, yellow, purple, red and white. Wind, fire, water, lightning, time, spirit, Malice and Light. These are the tears of the game.
I think the tears refer to the dragon tears you collect that give you the memories because the stones are called secret stones they would clearly be called tears if that’s what they were
Its actually has to do with the geoglyphs that you have to hunt down over the map. Like discovering links memories in breath of the wild. It all becomes clear after finding them all. No spoilers lol
I believe the one that we are missing is for Yonobo. So I think Gannon may be the shadow or time (light one) as yunobo would have one as one of the many champions.
For anyone who wants to know: Ganondorf‘s Tear doesn‘t actually belong to him, he stole it from "the mystery" character which had the same as Zelda, the mystery character was killed by him
Odd seeing this now, knowing that the tears are not those stones...those are stones....never called tears. The tears are the tears Zelda cries to make those glyphs.
the goat also has a tear and also if you add on that tear and the tear of the mystery woman it adds up to seven which a tapestry depicted 7 tears surrounding a strange creature and that means the amount of tears is equal to the amount of sages which means each person who has a tear could be a sage
