Ganon resurrects more frequently than my upload schedule. / chasekip Games covered in this video: 00:00 The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 05:52 The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom 16:08 Outro
For those wondering about the Gerudo: In the game they kind of detail that the Gerudo procreate by venturing out, finding a mate, getting some “seeds” and then return lol (or if they have kids outside, then send them back when they’re 5)
I've seen a meme video where Tulin confused his for candy. Also commas or apostrophes. They're actually magatama like the Amber Relics and Dusk Relics in Skyward Sword BTW.
8:58 Well, with the most recent Famitsu interview, it seems that Fujibayashi confirmed what most of the Zelda fanbase was pointing at, this ancient past is not a branch in the timeline but a refounding of Hyrule, with another "New" Hyrule founded slightly over 10k years earlier than Breath's Calamity and after the destruction of a previous Kingdom. Rauru's Hyrule was founded after all the games previous to Breath of the Wild happened. The Dragon Tears memories even hint a little about the fact of a previous Hyrulean civilization before the Zonai descended from the skies, so it's all still after the three timelines.
@@Themacattack1209 Because Nintendo doesn´t care about one continuous lore. They just want to make a few connected games and that´s all. Just enjoy the games and see them all as different "Legends" of how Zelda saved Hyrule ... again. With the help of a random child. You know like the bed time stories that never made any sense but were fun to lsiten to when you were 5.
@@Themacattack1209I mean, they usually don't address these things that early, the game has been out for almost a year now, and still, they like to keep Zelda lore vague, I think, it's kind of an unspoken rule for that team to keep most of the timeline/lore vague, and Hyrule Historia+Creating a Champion/other Botw books have been the closest people have gotten to address these kinds of questions. (Keep in mind before that we had things in magazines, and strategy guides, but sometimes they were translation interpretations). So, it'll take a while for a product like that to be out, lol.
@@YourFavGemini15he is useful but what I hate the most is the fact that he only shines on the non canon game. Teba on Hyrule warriors is maybe the best future character as it has like the most interesting lines in the game. He shows more emotions and is overall the most engaging, sure Sidon finally reuniting with his sister is touching but Tebas is on another level. Sad he didn't get more love in the main games
This is the Most adorable and hilarious explaination i have ever seen. I love that ancient history can be boiled down to: "Evil Ghost Pig-Snake Thing Remembered its previous Smackdown and possessed the giant robots and Uno-Reverse Carded the Smackdown."
Most likely, the timelines merged and it was so apocalyptically chaotic afterwards that it reset a lot, leading to the Zonai appearing and having to help fix everything sometime after the mergence.
I think its just that for a long time the old hyrule just stop existing or just destroyed and then the zonai came and rebuild the new hyrule thus creating a different monarchy bloodline.
Trust me "Riju's" ability hijacking your action button while you are trying to pick items up while simply turning you screen yellow is the least of you concern out the sage ability random action button hijacks. 12:57 Unless you decide to fire an arrow as a means to remove the yellow because you became "shocked with rage" lol Honestly I would rather deal with Riju or even Sidon hijacking my A button while collecting things anytime before Tulin (things go flying), Yunobo (plants get torched) or even Mineru (I feel kidnapped) .
You're forgetting the part where Link goes straight to the final boss after clearing the tutorial and beats Ganon(dorf) with about a half dozen weapons he grabs on the way.
I honestly had no trouble with my sages. I achieved symbiosis with them lol. I can’t believe you didn’t mention the war crimes that all TotK players committed with Ultrahand. Also Zelda traveled far more than a thousand years into the past because she went to the Kingdom of Hyrule’s FOUNDING
We know its more then even 20000 years in the past as its stated that calamity comes by every 10000 years giving the ancient sheika the time to make the guardians and divine beasts, so I would guess that Zelda went back somewhere around 50000 years into the past. I say this as it would mean that calamity came back like 5 times this would help support the pattern of every 10000 years.
I wish I had that skill, although it's not Riju I usually have issues with, it's everyone else. I love Tulin, but omg, I did not want my massive haul of keese drops blown away into oblivion, and Yunobo is setting things alight...
i believe it was said in an interview that raru's hyrule was like, hyrule 3.0. he came down and founded zonai hyrule, presumably after some sort of collapse of hyrule 2.0
Congrats on you graduation man ! Hopefully you'll get the youtube fame that your content deserves, i DID notice a change in the artstyle compared to previous videos (or maybe it's juste because of the characters doing more action in this video than in the others ?) but i didn't thought you actually reworked the whole art side of the videos, eitherway this video is even better than before
To be fair TOTK doesn't necessarily upend the timeline completely. We already have two kingdoms of Hyrule when you consider Spirit Tracks, so Rauru and Sonia could have just founded a third Kingdom (or second, depending on which branch you go with).
I feel like I should mention this because I noticed it and no one else seems to know it: the depths are actually a topographical mirror image of the overworld. Every mountain is a pit, every canyon is a mountain. They literally flipped the map upside-down! (Convenient way to save dev time!)
Fun fact: The Master Sword in TotK is actually weaker than the one in BotW. Reason is cause in BotW, it’s glow state does 2x more damage than its usual base 30. In TotK, the MS’s glow state only does 1.5x more damage. Also it’s base power hasn’t increased at all (and yes I know you’re supposed to fuse it with other weapons to make it stronger).
When you fight Phantom ganon or the final boss, it does 60 damage unfused with infinite durability but fighting gloom enemies it does 45 with a little bit more durability than it normally has. Although after you break it once it never has max durability again because of a bug which i wish nintendo would fix instead of patching dupe glitches
Everyone falling head-over-heels in love with Link makes sense. I mean, our Twinky Linky is honestly even more attractive then Zelda, to be completely honest.
I'm happy that you're okay b/c your videos are the best thing at explaining games instead of playing the game to understanding the lore better. I hope you and everything in your life is going well, take care.
agreed, but i have one HUGE problem... CALAMITY GANON AND NEW DORF ARNT RELATED. CALAMITY IS JUST THE HATRED OF GANON/DEMISE FROM GETTING KILLED EVERY REINCARNATION, HE'S JUST A SPIRIT OF EVIL'S ANGER. the rehydrated one is a legend of zelda retcon- uh i mean ganondorf that's from the time BEFORE skyward sword (its a retcon, those theory videos are thoeries, nintendo edited out the true founding of hyrule, and edited out demise being the reason why ganon (monster form, NOT just calamity) and ganondorf exists. also also, gloom is ganondorf's evil in his heart enhanced by his secret stone, they do that, NOT like the infinity stones where they ALREADY represent something rather than a quality. malice (calamity) is evil's hatred (like i said) + water.
@@javiervasquez625 naw for a “new link and Zelda, BOTW and related is 10,000 after the three timelines (watch game theory (including the first hyrule warriors that's non-canon, fixing the timeline) OR take chase’s brilliant word that EVENTUALLY any of the branches would become botw)
Time to rewatch all your content, in celebration of your return. As usual, had a blast watching this summary. Glad to hear from you, specially since you took the time off for self-improvement. Take your time, enjoy what you do, we will be here
This is a masterpiece. I'm glad this got recommended to me, continue the premium quality man! And congrats on your graduation, things can only get better from here!
Just a reminder that in 10,000 years of history we, humans went from fighting with pointy wooden sticks to annhilating enemies with Unmanned arial bombardments, missiles and coordinated by rocket launched satellites whilst eating dinner. And in 10,000 years of history, hyrule went from annihiliting enemies with giant lasers and smaller mobile lasers, to fighting with pointy wooden sticks.
You did an incredible job of summarizing the entire story accurately while also passive-aggressively pointing out how stupid it is. Loved the video, man.
it look stupid if you want to make it look stupid , that work for everything , but in reality it is not. like he's omitting certains thing and add other just for the lol.
The return of the king 👑 In all seriousness, welcome back Chase Kip. I seriously enjoy your content and can’t wait to see what else you put out! (But also please take your time and never any rush)
Thanks so much for the video! Please don't feel bad about the hiatus; your videos are always a joy to see on my timeline. They have the perfect blend of information and comedy both in the narration and the visuals for me. I look forward to the Splatoon video! and one day I'd love you to tackle the Bravely Default Timeline
I literally beat Totk today and immediately watched this video after. I didn’t watch it at first to avoid spoilers but it was definitely worth the wait!
LET'S GO CHASE KIP RETURNED!!! So glad your back man. Your stuff is so high-quality and you make some of my favourite stuff on the platform. Glad to see you back bro. Awesome video
It's interesting to watch your progress from uploading your first video on this channel to now :) Gorgeous video, remembers me that I found you through your Zelda Timeline video and stayed for the good art, commentary and style overall! You're doing great!
congrats on graduating!!! the art in this was fantastic and i loved the beats to each point and joke! definitely excited to see more! I can absolutely see all the time you spent on the art, but I feel like that time might have taken a little bit away from some fact checking on the basic lore- i didn't mind the parts that were off that made the video even funnier, but the timeline being super off from canon (botw wasn't 10,000 years in the past, the og sheika + mechs v ganon was, etc) and a few other things kinda took me out of the video's narrative a bit bc i had to pause and go "wait, what?" but the end product was really enjoyable and i really am excited to see more! loved your past videos so i know you've got great things in the works!
CHASE KIP RETURNS LET’S GOOOOOOOOO \O/ the hiatus is totally understandable man !!!! congrats on graduating :] i’m glad you enjoy making these videos, you should be doing what makes you happy i’m certain the next videos will only be better because you’re doing what you enjoy :]
3:48 bro I Never forgot the location or this shrine this was the shrine of my nightmares and I remembered it instantly and I played that 5 years ago😭 Also it’s behind a tree in korok forest
Just in case anyone is wondering, Age of Calamity isn't canon to the BOTW timeline and is actually a different timeline where Operation Ganon Smackdown succeeds 100 years ago. Keep reading this if you want more lore. See the robot that Zelda was building at 1:02, that was one of Zelda's one childhood friends and comforted her when she lost her mother. The king of Hyrule took the robot, known as Terrako, away from Zelda saying it was distracting her from unlocking her sealing powers. Zelda's father hid Terrako away in a small box in a tower as seen in the opening cutscene in Age of Calamity. I'm not sure which timeline is taking place in the opening cutscene of Age of Calamity, but the most likely timeline is when Zelda attempted to seal Ganon away 100 years before BOTW and failed. Terrako time traveled back to when Hyrule was searching for champions for the divine beast. Fast foward to the last main quest and there is a cutscene showing that Terrako shoots a single beam before he breaks down, giving Zelda, Link, and everyone fighting with them, a chance to take Ganon down and seal him away. Here are a couple more things: 1. Terrako actually sent Sidon, Riju, Yunobo, and Teba back in time to aid the Champions when they were facing the blight ganons which was when they died in the BOTW timeline which is why they show up in the final battle against Ganon unlike the opening cutscene. It is confirmed by a cutscene that Yunobo is from the BOTW timeline, implying that the other sages are from the BOTW timeline but is not completely confirmed. 2. The reason why Zelda and maybe Link was only in the opening cutscene was because Terrako didn't go back in time in that timeline, causing the Champions to die along with Link having a serious injury where he would have to rest for a century. 3. Terrako isn't in the current TOTK timeline as he is in the Age of Calamity timeline. 4. Harbinger Ganon is actually the Terrako in the Age of Calamity timeline but turns evil because the evil possessing things that chase Terrako in the opening cutscene possesses the Terrako in that timeline.
1:26 This is king Rhoam.. King Daphnes is the father of another Zelda. I loved that you're back with the channel, I recommend your videos to everyone whenever possible!!
congrats on your graduation ! (also Zelda didn't ask Rauru anything about the master sword, she made her plan after the sword time travelled to her. Idk how the sword did that if Zelda didn't plan for it, tho)
