If You Have Trouble with these shots, it is NOT your equipment. Look no further than your stroke. If you hit the ball hard to shoot a draw shot on any table, you need to work on the stroke, your contact point and your follow-through. Learn more at: nwqpool.com

Draw shots - Yep, not as easy as you make 'em look and not easy to control either!!! Tendency is to "over cook" the draw... if ya have it or not get much at all. Those drills - pretty damn good, those aren't so easy to pull off; hat's off to ya! Instructional with demonstration, good stuff!!!! Be Safe

You do need a good tip. I don't think you could get a good draw shot with a screw on or slide on. You should also practice your draw enough where you can draw back 2 in with a full table length length shot. Thank you fx for your hard work.

That’s funny CHUCK - have you ever used a screw in tip? I had one when I was 15.

I tried to use my friends and I kept knocking the tip off. They are not made to handle that kind of English. And I miss cued a lot.

Slip on tip...no problem. Screw on only the softer shots. Somebody I knew got hustled bad by a road player using a swap meet 5 piece custom cue 'his wife gave him for Xmas.' I think Brian could run out without a tip on his cue.

Hi B, Just found your channel a few days ago, I watched almost all your videos, good lessons and tips. Can you please recommend me a cue ? The dealer in my country, doesn't have P3 in stock, and the only 2 options are 4 POINT SNEAKY PETE BLACK or 9K-1 (which are similar in price, but i am curious in more of a technologic stand point as i don't really care about beauty/colours) Thanks in advanced, love from Romania.
@FXBilliards
@FXBilliards 10 месяцев назад
I would hold out for the P3 even if it is a couple of months. But if it is going to be too long a wait, go with the Sneaky Pete Black.

Very inconspicuous off hand shot.... noice! I shoot at least a couple of racks a week off (left for me) handed. LOL.... I try to do it when I'm alone because its not pretty and very humbling. But, when you're in a situation where you need it, its not as awkward. Good stuff as always B! Looking forward to the next one! Thanks for putting out only quality content.

I just bought P3 with Revo 12.4 today. I have spent couple of hours playing with it. It feels nice, and looks super good all black, but I have struggled potting balls, especially those with English, I was way off probably because of the LD ? Also, I was struggling doing draw shots, I gave scoop the ball like 4 times, now I'm scared to hit the ball low, any idea on how to over come that and not scoop the ball? Thanks.
@FXBilliards
@FXBilliards 9 месяцев назад
I tend to have Miscues when I first get a new cue because the timing is changed, the shaft to smoother. The tip isn’t really broken in well - so don’t hesitate to hit the ball low. Just focus on your stroke until you get accustom to the timing of the new shaft.

Hi Bryan, Do you recommend any books/resources that can teach one to progressively play better pool with theory and drills. For context: I have watched a lot of your videos and try to implement them as well as many other youtubers. I even purchased your pool course and found it helpful, but didn't seem to find progressive drills and "homework" or "tutorials". The analogy I can give is this: I am studying computer science formally, but when a particular topic interests me, I can pick up a great textbook which goes through theory and provides a plethora of tutorials of increasing challenge that hone and expand my skills incrementally, with intermittent capstone projects to tie all the smaller drills together. I have not been able to find something like this for pool. I also live in a country where pool is not so popular so it's hard to find locals from whom I may learn as well. Cheers for your efforts.

If you search, FXBilliards drills, you’ll find a lot of our drills. Every one of them can be adapted to become a progressive type drill. Just use a little imagination to make them easier as needed.

I want to buy a P3. Any difference between the new Predator P3 REVO USPBS and the normal P3 black that you have ? Beside colours of course.
@FXBilliards

To the best of my knowledge, there is no difference, but you can ask the retailer that you purchase it from if they know of a difference.

Hey Brian, hope you're well. When applying side spin, do you recommend going down with the adjusted aim or going down and then pivoting? Is there a key difference in those methods? Thanks again for your lessons.
@FXBilliards
@FXBilliards 9 месяцев назад
When I get down on the cue ball I’ve already adjusted for the English. I don’t believe in moving the cue with front or hand or backhand once I’m down on it.

My favorite FX vids are multi rail ones. These shots are hardly taught on RU-vid. Bryan has some good ones in his for-purchase tutorials. Well worth it. I’ve been practicing draw shots an hour a day for the past few weeks. Short draws were never a problem. It was the longer ones. I’ve made great progress. I can do some 7-foot draws now. Biggest key is smooth stroke. Aim, then pull the cue back like you are pulling a bow and arrow all the way back. Shoot evenly and go thru the cue ball 4-6-8 inches. Don’t be stabby, like your’e using a short sword. Don’t snap at the ball or hit super hard. Same speed all the way thru. Keep your grip as loose as possible. Use a longer stroke for longer draws. I am still not where I want to be, but after so little progress for so long, I am making big strides thanks to Bryan and others.

3:25 Serious question. What’s the best way to get from the 6 to the 7? I seem to always hit the 8 in that scenario.
@FXBilliards
@FXBilliards 10 месяцев назад
You could do two things there. You can shoot another draw shot back to the long rail and bounce off,(you will have an angle) And if you are unable to do that: Let the cb run into the 8 but with speed. you will free up the cue ball enough to have a shot on the 7. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching.

I understand trying to get the cue ball to roll inline with the shot line of the next ball, but I think the majority of those shots would have been much higher percentage shots just using a simple stun and sending the cue off the end rail. Adding that much force draw, distance, and chance for miscues isn’t worth the extra risk.
@FXBilliards
@FXBilliards 10 месяцев назад
If a potential miscue is part of your “position decision-making”, then you really need to work on your stroke. It should be such a rare occurrence that it doesn’t even occur to you when you’re playing the best route. Thanks for watching.

Yes. Many players do not correlate how speed of stroke, tip position and follow through can all be adjusted to create outcomes like the drag shot. Naturally a good tip and chalk will help. Follow through is key. How many times you hear a guy say "wow! I didn't expect all that", as he over draws a short shot.? I always think " it's amazing what stroke and follow thru can create! You should try it more!".
