When I see someone who regularly makes fabulous, helpful, beautiful and informative videos, I feel I need to make a comment and tell them so. Really nice job.
Can we talk about how you filmed this in under 15 minutes? (Haha the clock in the background) But really, one of my favorites things about you is you get right to the point, there's no fluff
Thank you for being so specific. I've been trying to find videos about lighting and they're all really general and give general tips but when I see specific items and how they would look in my living room that helps so much more
You are doing a great job Nick. I love that you don't ramble on or act ridiculous but professional and fun. It's also nice to get your opinion and honesty on each subject. My only frustration is when captions and pictures are flashed on so quickly and I need to keep going back to catch them. My style aligns with your channel so its always exciting when you post something new.
I found the bamboo doors last year and was so happy! And still am! They are gorgeous and you can turn the bamboo around and choose if you want them to be in a darker or brigter colour. One of the best finds ever at IKEA.
Your pronounciations are some of the best on youtube. Sorry, us Swedes are annoying! Those blankets and rugs are being discontinued here in Sweden right now, so might want to hurry up and get them if you're interested in case it's the same wherever you live :)
Just a tip that can make things easier for you, the letter “J” is pronounced like the letter “I” in Swedish, Norwegian and Danish. So, Jofrid is pronounced“Iofrid” and Fjell is pronounced “Fiell” 😉. Just replace the sound of the English J for I in all Swedish words and you are good to go, no one will notice you are not Scandinavian. 😉
@@lyndahuggus4880 yes, Y maybe. You must be right. English is not my first language and I don’t really know it all. Y in Scandinavian languages has a sound a little bit longer than I. 😉
I really liked how you put a thumbnail recap of each product you reviewed at the end of the video. (Cuz I was already thinking what was the first one again?)😆 thanks. Great video.
Hey, Nick! I'm new to your channel; landed here a few days ago and I'm kinda binge watching to get caught up. I've sampled a good few of the designer RU-vidrs, and you're on my short list of favorites, for what that's worth. I moved into my new home six months ago, and I'm enjoying the process of putting it all together with a lot of old and a little new. I have a design background, which helps, but I love seeing new ideas. You have a great way of presenting yourself and your insights, with respect and humor. My routine the last few days is to get my coffee and sit down with a couple of your videos. Thank you for sharing your talent. Wishing you continued success! I'll be around to watch your channel grow!
Thank you so much that means so much! Honestly sometimes I do get imposter syndrome and I let myself wonder if I have a place here on youtube. I definitely don't feel like I have all the answers, but I try to bring a unique angle that I think some people will enjoy. Comments like this help me remember that!
@@Nick_Lewis Then I'm very glad I opted to comment! And that is a first for me on design videos! Seriously, you are so real and comfortable to be around, so keep just doing you. Stay well!
I like that you speak like a real adult. I can actually listen to you during the preparation of a whole meal without wanting to poke my eyes out twice. It’s a shame, really, that some of the younger RU-vidrs put on an over-the-top affect where every sentence ends like a question. It detracts from their credibility. In my humble opinion, that is!
I'm not a big IKEA shopper, but I do agree with your decor advice. I love neutrals, it will never go out of style, nature gives us a hint, take it. SO glad that gray decor has finally gone, I hated it, so depressing and gloomy. Thanks for your videos, love them. Also I have always been a fan of disfused lighting, those naked light bulbs are awful, who needs it.
I have the Vistoft rug since about 2,5 years and after furnishing the whole room brand new I can say that this was THE item that was most worth it! It looks absolutely incredible, feels nice and is suuuuper easy to maintain. Highly recommend this to anyone. It is quite a heavy quality and I feel like I will be taking this from place to place for maybe even for more than a decade. Did not expect that for the affordable pricepoint.
Love your channel and especially that you do content for us apartment dwellers. Would you do a video about storage solutions and storage styling for people who have outgrown their space a bit but can’t afford to move? I have decluttered like we all did but still feel like my place looks too busy.
Regnskur pendant lamp feel like Asian style red lantern which you will see everywhere on new year, but painted in white to my opinion, they does look cool.
Yes, I have the Upvind floor lamp in brass and it is stunning! Kiva introduced it a few months ago and it was hard to find. I searched high & low but it was out of stock everywhere! The cool thing is IKEA gave you the opportunity to be notified when it became available and after some time, I finally got it!!
I’d be interested in seeing a vid about moving into a new rental home. There are so many rules and hassles with that. Sometimes you’re moving every year. So, maybe a list of priorities, discussing why they are no longer priorities. Maybe show how to just subtly alter a deco item, to make it suit your style again
Hi Nick, I love all your videos. Waiting for your home(Living room first) tour like thousands of other followers 😃 Could you please do cohesive living room furniture idea with decent storage?
Hi Nick, could you please do a video on the topic of lighting. Such as light bulbs, wattage Etc. I can’t seem to find the “right “ bulb for my living room and bedroom lamps. Either to orange, dull or too bright! Thank you! I love your content ❤️
I believe the pattern on the rug is called “goose eye”. I was a bit obsessed about it a few years ago, still love it 😍 I have no objections to your pronunciation this time haha 🤩
Thanks! Haven’t been to Ikea in ages. Not a fan of those big pendant shades since a huge paper one detached above my bed when I was a student long ago, and fell on me in the middle of the night. The screaming.......😱🤣
Love your channel! I am surprised you were able to find these items at IKEA recently. In the last 6 weeks I have been to IKEA in Georgia and Tennessee and the shelves were bare. Nothing to buy and I was so ready to spend some money to decorate my new house. This Covid thing has really affected them. One of the sales people said they did not expect to recover fully for at least another year. Just a FYI. I wonder if all of the IKEA lovers are seeing the same thing at other locations.
Can always rely on you to tell us what to look out for at Ikea without having to keep up with all their new items. Please continue your best of ikea forever! Just recently got this nice rattan serving tray you mentioned in one of your last videos and I will certainly get this lamp
Hi Nick! I just found your channel and I love it! We are building a house in Florida and I love your fresh, honest take on design. My husband likes the "less is more" style and I'm kinda transitional - I like simple lines, but a little more than Scandanvian design. I would love to see how you are building your home and how you decided on things. Keep up the great channel!!
The pendant Is actually a simpler remake of designer lamps, that are so gorgeous. I have a more beautiful one in my sleeping room and it fits perfectly.
It's fun to see different things they have. Been forever and a day since I've been to IKEA. You do have me interested in the rugs and I am not a rug person. Happy Weekend and Happy Belated Canada Day! Cheers, Ivy
Hi Nick! Im hoping if you could do a video talking more about bedroom interior styles. Im doing a room makeover and thinking of going bold and paint my room a dark colour such as charcoal grey or even black but im too scared. I would love to hear your thoughts about it.
I love the bamboo sliding doors for the PAX wardrobe, but my main problem is that they unfortunately only come in the 92 7/8" height, which is even taller than the ceilings in my bedroom 😭
Good video. I’m planning on hanging my television on the wall above a console, on your next video, could you please swing the camera towards your set up for a moment, so I can see what you’ve done? Thanks. Your space looks so nice. 🙂👍🏻
Thanks to your suggestion I bought the Jofrid throw blanket at IKEA today. It is lovely but sheds quite a lot. I hope a one-time wash will take care of that!
I have one and love it! It did take 2 or 3 washes to really stop shedding though. I washed it twice in a row right off the bat because of how much lint was coming off.
Hi Nick really like your channel - can I ask what colour is your lounge rug please ? I have a similar looking sofa and vibe and wondered what you went for - thank you x
I would love to hear your opinions on the best way to style your home with pets. I want a nice home with nice furnishings that can withstand my cats. Thanks!
Oh! HerMAN Miller! And not Henry Miller, which I thought I'd read at first. As I Dane I totally forgive your foreign pronunciation and I thank you for teaching me how to pronounce 'linen' correctly.
Great video. I Love that one of your "questionable choices" for IKEA included the poäng chair with the cushion that my mother wanted to buy me - both my husband and I said "NO" to the cushion and got a different cushion (for still the poäng chair) Mum's taste is definitely not mine!
I'm redoing an office in a house I just purchased, and want to do a dark blue paint with moulding accents and a faux-coffered ceiling. What brand and color did you use for your dining room accent wall? Loving the channel btw!
I LOVE your Ikea vids so much. Fun suggestion - you should totally do a video of you trying to pronounce the IKEA names and then plugging them into google translate to see how close you got. Just a fun suggestion! XD
Imposter syndrome 🥸🤔 No way you definitely have a place here on You Tube !! Love ❤️ your channel & I see it growing so well done 👍🏼 best regards from a loyal sub in Israel 🇮🇱
Thanks for clarifying that prices are USD. So many of these “what to buy at (insert store name here)” videos assume, wrongly, that it’s only Americans watching. 🇨🇦
@@Nick_Lewis That said, it would be nice to have had Canadian prices since, after all, you are Canadian. Sometimes being Canadian we tend to try to be so nice that we ignore Canada and it's currency, measurements, etc. We tend to forget that the rest of the world is also intelligent enough to do their ow conversions.
I looked at the bamboo doors in display. Looked natural and quality. Unfortunately every item I was interested that day was out of stock. Hopefully they can restock soon.
