Hey guys and welcome to an cheeky extra video for today which i wanted to share as i have been suffering with dry lips recently and these are the lip balms I would recommend for maximum benefit and hydration.. Leave me your favourites below and sending you so so much love xxxxx
I use the La Roche-Posay and balm and absolutely love it! I wear a lot of matte liquid lipsticks so with winter weather my lips used to get so dry by the evening, but this fixes them right up ❤
I love these kind of videos when you so them Rob. I watch them at least 3 times to try and remember all the information so I can relay it to family and friends. I'm currently finding the following really good to give me beautiful plump, nourished lips by the morning. My night time routine I use Haru-Haru Wonder rice toner which is packed with hyaluronic acid. I put this everywhere including my lips. Then later on I apply a nourishing lip balm, Dr Paw Paw yellow lip balm lately. Then I finish again all over my face lips included lock everything in with LRP cicaplast baume b5. Wow what a result by the morning and I'm loving it! Only temporary but my lips stay soft and hydrated, and I only apply lip products morning and night. No need for reapplication during the day.
My ride or die is the lip and body balm from Paula’s Choice. I live in a very cold and dry part of Canada and I put this on every second night and my lips are no longer dry at all. Worth every penny. Totally transformed my lips.
“Snog ready.” Love it! While not appropriate for snogging, I use the cocoa butter based lip balms from Badger. They have simple formulas and are cruelty free. I prefer the unscented ones, but I do use the minty ones on occasion when working at close quarters with others who may be wearing perfumes or fragrances in any form. It helps mask the smells. They will still bring on allergic reactions, but I can usually tough it out until I can get relief.
Thanks for the great info, Rob! I love anything from Lanolips. Not typically into scents, but the Banana Balm has lanolin, cocoa butter and banana extract. There is also sheen, which isn’t for everyone. But it’s definitely for me! And banana and waffles are a great combo! 🤣❤️
Hi Rob a Summer staple for me is the ultrasun spf30 lipbalm - actually hydrating and protects the lips at around £6. For healing the Avene cicalfate lip balm is the best I'v,e tried. For hydration and a bit of a tinted stain the IT cosmetics balm is really nice and turns a mauve shade on me (ph dependent re colour). These are my favourites - the IT cosmetics one is more of a makeup product with hydrating benefits tbh. I like the LRP, but the Avene is better for me re healing. Best wishes.
My best friend lip balm is uriage’s Bariederm Repair Barrier Lip Balm. It comes in a squeeze tube and I used it when I was on accutane but haven’t had dry chapped lips throughout the whole journey because of it! It’s so good! I tried la roche-posay’s, and uriage is even better. Same applicator too, and it comes in a bigger package.
Hi Hun! Thanks for this video!! I don’t take care of my lips as I should do, but don’t really have a big issue with dryness but I know when that freezing cold Manchester air hits them in a couple of weeks time they are going to shrivel up!!! I have a lot of new skincare waiting for me at my mum’s from all the sales and I have promised myself NO MORE….except now for some of that Q+A liquorice oil….and maybe their caffeine under eye… then I’M DONE!!! Love you 😘
I use cicaplast and aquaphor as well but honestly, Paula's Choice is by far the best I've ever tried and the only one I can still feel on my lips when I wake up in the morning.
I have really dry, and scratchy lips! Thank you for this video I was actually looking at lipbalms that are suitable and moisturising. I was looking at the Carmex Original lip balm and it's 5 stars! Your video really helped! Thank you! Have a nice day!! Xx
I have my eyes on the Beneath Your Mask lip balm. Great ingredient deck. I used to love the Paula's Choice Lip and Body Treatment Balm. I'm just not sure whether the formula has changed. Farmacy Honey Balm is $10 and nice for daytime. Kosas had a 3 pack of their LipFuel for holidays and that formula is nice for day too.
@@MadAboutSkin I'm already using (and loving) La Roche Posay since when during online shopping I just put it in a basket to get free shipping hah ;D I'm going to try the rest of your recommendations as they always work amazingly for me. THANK YOU
Thank you. My lips are not getting any better from recommendations from the RU-vidr dermatologist. Wasted so much money on their recommendations. So far your recommendation before worked for me. I’ll try yours. Thank you
Bioderma has a good lipbalm. And the German makeup brand Essence has a recent release - "Lip Care booster, lip serum" that is wonderful and cheap. And I have tried oh, so many. At night I use the Laneige lip mask and if even used troughout the day, it would last for half a year, so it isn't that expensive in the long run... For the makeup lovers - NYX Butter Gloss is far better at moisturizing than a lot of lipbalms...
@@MadAboutSkin are you blowing kisses at me with those dry lips?! 😂 just curious what your thoughts are with using plain old Vaseline at night on your lips?
@@tthibideau hey Tom! Just thought I would drop my two cents. It’s been super windy and cold here in SK. So it’s been dry lip weather. If I use just Vaseline, it’s not long lasting and my lips are drier once it wears off. You need to have a humectant under it like HA or my fave TO Amino acids. Then lock it in with Vaseline or any occlusive. Lips stay hydrated, even when the products wear off.
Eucerin Acute lip balm is fantastic too and keeps my lips so hydrated in the colder months! IMO I think it's even better than the LRP cicaplast lip balm which I have used in the past and also rate. 🙌 Xx
So much thanks from Montreal - where dry lips are a fact of life 5 months of the year! XOXOX. (Oh - and where La Roche Pose is in every pharmacy - so many excellent products!)
This is fantastic. Rob, you recommended Cacaplast by La Roche-Posay for severe dry skin. After just two days, I am a new person after one year of horrific dry skin (bleeding and peeling). Thank you so much! We love you for the education and love you give to all of us. Now, on to my lips!
Dermalogica nightly lip treatment and their age renewal lip balm. Life changing, I kid you not! Worth every cent. SPF wise : Bondi sands (watermelon flavor)❤️
I adore La Roche Posay's products, and really love the Drunk Elephant Lippe of all of their products that I've tried, even though price point is a bit high.
My favorite lip balm maker is Moroccan Magic and my favorite flavor is Pure Coconut with Rose coming in second place. The balms have coconut oil and other essential oils and leave my lips soft and moisturized.
My skin and lips are super sensitive…in Australia we have QV which is inexpensive and available in pharmacy only, I use the QV Face Lip Balm with SPF 30 plus, I use this day and night and it’s been lip saving under the surgical mask I wear all day at work, my lips were previously dry and sore, RRP is $5 AUD and on sale even cheaper, I just bought several on sale, even though I have a tube in my scrub pockets I find I don’t have to apply that often as it stays on my lips. Love from South Australia Sue x
I LOVE Burts Bees Lip butter. It's got shea butter, cocoa butter, castor oil, glycerides, sunflower seed oil and honey in it - to name but a few. The first blast of cold wind every year my lips crack and bleed. Started using burts bees in February 2020 and it's been an absolutely saviour for me. And it's not expensive either. A few mature beauty youtubers recommended it on their videos and being more mature myself I thought it was worth a try. Glad I did. Hitting pan on it at the moment so time to restock soon.
@@MadAboutSkin No problem. You should try it, I think you'll like it. And it's in a handy little tin like the mini vaseline ones so it fits nicely in a pocket too. I'm thinking I really must go back and write a review on it soon seeing as I am gushing about it so much!!
I just got my lip filler today and this video is exactly what I needed to see. After I get my filler my lips are soo dry it's an all day thing with carmex. Time to step up and treat my lips like the rest of my face. Will choose one to order tomorrow.
Thx I have chronically parched lips. I use eucerin ointment (not aquaphor but the one with water in) when the lip is thirsty, I use Clinique super balm over moisturiser at night and that lasts about 7 hours if I gloop it on. I am hoping to get the bare minerals xmas set soon, with a stick and a mask , I’m still looking for something buttery and nourishing, Shea butter ones are where I’m heading. Oh and Clinique lip repair wear is nice but not long lasting imo. Kiehl’s buttermask is on my list but it does have fragrance and the bare minerals might have too unfortunately, so many do.
My all time favourite has been Paula’s Choice. Works for me better than any other. But I’m paying in Cdn$ and the price - US$15 - is getting up there. I will check out your recs. Love you and your channel 😍
Rob, thanks so much for this review. I have been looking for a good lip balm. Would have loved links to the products, but I guess you can get these products in a variety of places, including Sephora. Oh and what did you think of the August Bader lip balm? Just curious. Happy Advent!!
Hi Linda. I hope all is good with you.. I didn't do the usual links as these are usually best bought at local drugstores to get them cheapest but i can add in some suggested links.. I loved the AB lip balm it was a good product but not worth anywhere near the price point so i won't rebuy as the others were more effective.. Sending you lots of love xxxxx
I wll have to try the La Roche Posay lip balm. I live in Florisa where it's usually sunny. I try to incorporate SPF in my balm. Right now I am enjoying Sun Bum SPF 30 in the flavors banana and coconut.
Hi do you know when La roche posey is going CF? I stopped using them as they tested but I like their sunscreen. Can’t find info during a google search.
Any recommendations for lips suffering through accutane? I currently use lanolin but it protects my lips as a moisture barrier rather than add moisture forcing me to wear it 24/7. Please help lol.
Great suggestions! I used aquaphor & eucerin forever but love looking around - lately have been using &loooving Mr Honey essence stick ( you can use it on your face and hands too!). Thanks again Rob, will check out 🌟❤️!!
A few years ago I bought a strawberry lip balm from the Body Shop and used it last thing at night. The next morning my lips were SO swollen (people pay good money to achieve the lips like the ones I woke up with). They were painful and sore. Since then, I have steered clear of lip balms containing flavourings.
I swapped over to NUEVE and never looked back. It is super long lasting and 100% natural. I have tried everything (Blistex, Carmex, Burt’s Bees, Chapstick etc.). I found that you get what you pay for. Most of these brands do a good job at hydrating, but a high-quality chapstick/lip balm will maintain that hydration. You can find it on Amazon
It might sound weird but Lansinoh Lanolin Cream is wonderful. Even though it's marketed for nursing moms (sore nipples), it is 100% natural lanolin and works great on lips too. #lipsandnips!
So many people, including me, deal with chapped, peeling lips in the winter. The product I've been using for several years is the Klavuu Lip Sleeping Pack. It comes in a 20 gram jar for around $9 (the same size as the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask). I order five of them at a time from YesStyle... and this will last me over a year!
OMG how have I never even heard of this product.. Im heading over to check it out now.. As always thank you so so much for your recommendations Patti.. Happy Friday xxxxxxx
TL;DR - Rohto Mentholatum has my holy grail lip SPF! Apply Vaseline to your lips before brushing your teeth! I want a lip-specific SPF because I like to keep it in my pocket to reapply immediately after eating. I've been searching for years for the perfect lip SPF. They were all terrible: drying, stinging, smells bad, tastes bad, awful white cast, etc. I hated them all. It really doesn't help that I LOATHE mint/menthol and it's everywhere.😭 (Thanks so much for excluding it!❤️) Even the Elta MD lip balm my derm recommended stung my lips! But, Rob, ✨I FOUND ONE I LOVE✨!!! The Rohto Mentholatum Melty Cream Lip Balm!❤️❤️❤️❤️ I love the matcha one. It actually smells/tastes like matcha so I feel like I'm actually getting those good green tea benefits.😆 It's unreal how many products I've tried and hated. I think it's going to be at least two years before I'm even willing to try another brand of lip SPF. (I even tried that Supergoop one and it was definitely better than most, but left a really weird taste in my mouth. It was still WAY better than most of the others.) At night, that's when I just use my hydrating face products (no actives) on my lips, too, and cover with a thick layer of Vaseline. Adding a lip scrub (St. Ives actually has a good one😆) has been super helpful for avoiding flakes, cracks, and peeling in the Chicago winter. A game-changer for me is when I saw DermAngelo (Dr. Angelo Landriscina on TT, IG, and sometimes YT) recommend putting Vaseline on your lips before brushing your teeth to protect them from the toothpaste! Boom! 🤯🤯🤯
La Roche Posay has very good products. For some reason I was convinced they already are cruelty free. As a person who does not usually have dry lips, vaseline does a great job at seeling what you already have
The bane of my existence is dry lips. I’ve started slathering my hydrating toners and peptides there too. Also I put your moisturizer on them am and pm, is that okay or am I making it worse? They feel good in the morning but by the end of the day I’m crusty?? Maybe it’s the lipstick but I always put a balm on top. Is it okay to use the skincare on them?
I use a shea butter face cream and lock it in with any lip balm. Never lick, never rub them together and just use this process at night. Works. I am 61 and have tried everything. No lip products really work and the less attention you pay to your lips the better off they will be. Good luck!
😃😃😃😃...two uploads today!!!!....I'm just to boring as far as lip balms!!!specially nowadays when many of us are required to wear a face mask 😷....thus a neutral petrolatum rich product works the best...Boring ,but still effective....I haven't considered using the La Roche Posay product 🤔....????
Haha sometimes boring is no bad thing hun if it works well for your lips...i love the LRP one and i hope it works well for you too if you try it. Love you xxxx
Hi hun, how are you? I haven't tried it but you have made me super intersted to so i will have to.. I love their jet lag mask so I am sure i will love this one.. Love you xxxx
I’m not gonna lip… the AB lip balm is expensive, but: Lasts a very long time on lips Does not even allow for the creation of dry flakes Does not just sits on my lips Feels moisturizing and low sheen!🎉 I already purchased 3!
If your in the uk aldi lacura has a multi purpose soothing ointment for lips hands and cuticles, it's a 25 gram tube in 3 different colours, yellow, red and green, fragrance free and only £1.69! I wear lip balms all year long as I prefer them to lipstick and with the cold weather I needed something more heavy duty, I picked up 2 of them the yellow and the green tube and they are amazing the yellow especially it has paw paw (papaya I think) and macadamia nut oil and is fantastic! They are a dupe for the paw paw brand which cost 4 times as much xxx
@@MadAboutSkin I guess I didn’t pay attention, lol I actually skipped that very part cause I wanted to go straight to the recommendations. I had to rewatch. lol
Jesus loves you and died for you, turn to Him and He will save your soul and give you eternal life! John 14:15 “If you love Me, keep My commandments." Romans 10:9 "if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."
Lip balms don't work for me. Vaseline has been the only thing that works for me. Both Barbara Sturm and Drunk Elephant are way too expensive, plus I will never buy from Drunk Elephant again because of their customer service.
