The takeaway for me is the locking pieces for the router. In my case using that idea for my circular saw. Good job!

I did #4 with aluminum L-profiles like yours but mounted them on the table. I used a wooden plank with a groove in it to put my router on and flatten 15 planks with it for my staircase. Was quite a bit of shavings (a 70 liter bucket was filled to the top)

You shouldn’t wear gloves around a router but or a table saw or anything the spins. It could grab the glove pulling it into the blade or bit and mutilate your hand.

#4; why not make a fence to hold your part straight as you're cutting across? I noticed you can easily get a non-perpendicular cut.

Please don't use gloves while using a tool with rotating bits... If you have to ask why: Give your router bit a finger and it takes your whole hand.
@paulfrost8952
@paulfrost8952 3 года назад
I agree with MagSun. Don’t wear gloves, also use a push stick and push block & keep your fingers well out of the way of the cutter. You could also fit a guard over the cutter. Keep all your fingers and remember blood will stain your work.

Nice video but please know that gloves won't help for safety when working with power tools. It's even a bigger danger wearing them. They can get tangled in the router bits or saw blades and your hand might get pulled into the bit or saw.

In the 1 tips, only the fence is attached, it is dangerous (not equal load on the spindle) and you can see how the whole bends. The 2 tips can be replaced with a carpentry vice and this time a well-used ruter fence will be parallel and not all swing. The 3 tips, again, a wrongly used fence is too high above the ruter bit and bends, the whole thing is useless because you only need to properly attach the fence and use it as a compass without the plywood. 6 tips is very nice but it was spoiled by poor workmanship, a crooked circle and again a fence attached the other way round, you can see the uneven pattern. I am carpenter and I believe that such own devices are very good, but they must be well done because they can hurt somebody. If something is incomprehensible please write, I used the translator.

If you can do all those things in a different way, share it with the world, and make your own video about it. Placing a comment like this on a video like this is kind of redundant. This video isnt about what you can do with a router, but what the person has found out he/she can do with a router, and likes to share his/her ideas.

Good for hobbyist level results, but those are a nightmare to set up and there are way to inaccurate to give repeatable results. You' re going to spend even more time sanding after that to fix the cuts

I'm used to larger, corded routers ru-vid.comUgkxfQ5_mgwq6PcudJvAH25t-I4D-3cTPz4z so this was a different experience for me. Basically, this is an incredibly sweet machine, fits well in the hand, etc. It has slightly less power than I'm used to, but that's understandable. Maneuvering freehand takes some practice. These days, it's especially nice to be able to avoid power cords. This is above the level of a hobbyist but below a pro level.

#5 - interesting. But non-repeatable and the waves you make are not concentric - meaning the peak of one wave is more rounded and the other peak is sharper. Don't mean to be the guy who finds problems with the solution - but - if you're going to teach - do it right.
