Nice work on the video. The main issue I would see is the frequent need for replacing the holder for sponge. We all know how sponges like to gather bacteria and while drying them out will help them, the microscopic gaps in the holder will do the same. A quick epoxy coat or even using abs with acetone in an evaporator chamber would remove most of these concern. Hope the channel goes well
@remthompson
@remthompson Год назад
This is a fantastic suggestion! Bacteria is always a concern when it comes to 3D prints. I may well be wrong about this, but I think most sponges are already bacteria breeding grounds on their own as is I’m not sure the printed part would change that in any way really. Between the hot water used for dishes and various soaps and other cleaning agents used, that would help combat that inside the sponge. I’m sure most folks don’t think twice about bacteria in their sponge.
@ShaleAudio
@ShaleAudio Год назад
@@remthompson The only way I have found to combat this is a sponge is boiling or freezing with mixed results. Letting the sponge air dry with sufficient grill spacing to allow airflow is key, but yeah I would worry about buildup or cross contamination on the fractional gaps between layers on the printed surface. I am tempted to build a ducted version that routes air from a low voltage fan hidden away, but never enough time in the day for crazy impractical but fun solutions :)

Nice video, Rem. It's giving me some ideas. I have one suggestion. For the dishwasher sign, you could tape a magnet to the sign instead of taping it to the dishwasher. I think the front panel of most dishwashers is metal of some sort. I could be wrong about that, though.
@remthompson
@remthompson Год назад
That is a great suggestion! As far as I know you’re right about them being metal. There were some models that already had places to embed magnets so they’re flush inside the print. I had magnets on hand just non the right size for those:)
@ShaleAudio
@ShaleAudio Год назад
@@remthompson some stainless steels don't have the right ferrous properties to work with magnets. If you do want to add magnets to a print, I have had great luck with designing cavities into a print and using neodymium magnets and pausing the Bambu p1p, either via gcode, or proper timing then resuming the print
@remthompson
@remthompson Год назад
@@ShaleAudio that’s a great point about stainless. I do actually do quite a lot of prints with embedded magnets :)
