Some smaller clubs do actually take it seriously nowadays to help get players onto their radar, but it will always be the groundwork that convinces a team to spend. What do the data models say, what is he like to see play, does he have intangibles and tactical understanding, how would he fit in, what is his personality like - these sort of things are defining, and the game is naturally reductive in these areas. It has quite a high accuracy with predicting real potential, and the attributes are mostly pretty fair. Most personalities/mentalities on the other hand are complete guesswork. In FM23 for example, Evan Ferguson was unambitious & undetermined. In FM24, presumably now he’s done more media exposure and has big clubs circling, his determination went from 4 to like 13, and his personality went from badly balanced to a solid mindset. Nobody would sign Evan Ferguson based on FM23, because despite having 5* potential, they were essentially predicting he would never come close to living upto it. If you base your transfer strategy on FM wonder kids alone, you've got a Chelsea. If you combine it with some solid groundwork however, you've got an RB Leipzig.

@@georgyhassai remember there's a manager who doesn't have a license for coaching but he becomes one because of FM and hes doing pretty good, i forgot his name tho been awhile, thats just shows how realistic this game was.

Don’t do non league wonder kids. It’s a massive mistake. Just focus everything on wages and get everyone on end of contracts or free agents.

I'm playing with La Coruna, we went up to Serie B undefeated, mella carrying the team along with Peke and Perez, at the end of the season Roma paid their termination fine and I couldn't do anything.

His determination was 11 in my last save... Must be one of the "random potential" wonderkids that rarely reach full potential as he started getting worse once he reached 23 years old for me 🤣🤣🤣

will depend on the size pool of players when you start the game. since most of these are in 'smaller' nations in terms of playability you'll either need to add these nations, or play with a large database
