My dad is the strongest. He's been dead for four years and yet he still manages to teach me valuable life lessons every time I apply what he did with me with my wife and son.
I love that sentiment "Iron Boobs".....my husband passed away in June 27, 2019. My son is building a step van that I can use to travel in. I am constantly (pleasantly) surprised at the amount of knowledge that our son learned from my husband. I often "say" to my husband (hoping he can "somehow" hear me)...."Look at your son Frank......he turned out amazing".....
This is from Marilyn Collie. My Dad faced challenges that would break the will of many. He had a heart attack in his late 50's, which later led to having a pacemaker and later a defibrillator. In addition, later in life, he fell off a roof while working and had a spinal cord injury, and broke bones in the impact arm. After a year in a wheelchair and rehab/physical therapy, he learned to walk, then continued to work painting. All of this caused him to have tremendous upper body strength, especially strong hands. He could chop wood from a sitting position. His strength of will was tremendous. He lived to 84. Much much longer tban expected. He taught us (7 kids) how to persevere through adversity. He was a very strong man. Thank you if you read through all this.
Yes, my Dad was a good guy. Loved by so many. Father figure to nephews in need. Would help anyone who had a need, always had a ready smile and a corny joke.
Man, cannot believe that I just came across your channel. You and your folks are such (naturally) likable people - or great actors. And you are french-speaking, but no french. Your only flaw seems to be the use of imp. dimensions, but your father is compensating that with skill and experience! 👍🏻👌🏼
It was easy to underestimate my dad.He was on the small side of average in size--skinny and not very tall, but strong. He was a runner--never lost a race, no matter what the distance. He was quiet, so people would easily overlook him, but when he did speak up, not only was he smart, but he was funny. When I remember my mom I think of sewing, knitting, painting, and singing. When I think of my dad, I think of fixing stuff, laughing, and praying.
Watching your father work, measure, use tools, is really inspiring. There's so much to it. Appreciate your footage of these steps - a good model for us all.
I was gonna say my dad is stronger then yours cause I secretly adopted your dad when you weren't looking. LIke a boss he took the hard way and did that undermount sink ! Blew it off like it was nothing to boot when you complimented him 😉 So, HAPPY FATHERS DAY PAPA ! You really hit the dad lottery with him 😍 he's what I call "good people".
the undermount looks so good with the block infill! I was going to do that, but I saw so many videos saying they wish they went a bigger sink. SO I went for a 750x450mm sink, lol. I think drop in will be JUST fine. Big enough the gf can wash her hair in, I guess.
Great tips and trick!! My step dad was amazing he passed away about 12 years ago. But, I once accidently ran over his feet! He was going to take me to a job interview and I was waiting for him to load his cooler in the back seat, I was going to drive the first half of the trip. He said, okay and I thought that meant he was clear of the back of the car! Yikers! He wasn't! He ended up not being hurt seriously! But, I had to call the office to postpone the interview as I had just run over my dad's feet. It was the first time the office had heard that excuse! Oh! I did get the job!
My dad is the strongest: build a monster truck, a harley davidson and now helped me build my van. Its gonna be a sturdy one I promise, haha! Shout out to all the dads that share with us their time and knowledge to make our dreams come true! Keep up the good work and see you guys on the road :)
Happy Father's Day papa! He is very good people. My dad no longer with us but if he were he would have helped me with my van build. He was very stern but taught me many life lessons.
Happy Father's Day to your dad! I think he is BA, Smart, handsome, gotta be an amazing husband and dad cuz he put up with you and fixes your mistakes lol. My dad passed a long time ago, I didn't know him well, so the BA award goes to drum roll....Papa ! Unboxing with your mom is awesome! I used to get beat with a wooden spoon lol,, that must be why she carries it lol. Not! My family is from Quebec. Hard working, hard everything, but loving ❤ Loving the van Dom ! Can I borrow your dad? Much love from Texas ❤✌😁
"Unpacking with Andrée" could be a spin-off show where y'all sit down at the table, have a cold refreshing drink, and unpack all the feels #Idwatchthat
Enjoyed the Batman theme intro! Watching your videos for my van build, Promaster 159. Thank you so much for making the videos educational and entertaining!
So enjoy your Papa! My dad was strong. Building with him, Albert Francois, was comical, building with my mom got the job done. French Lesson??? I drive a white jeep... 🤣
Just found your channel today and this is the first video I've watched. Loved all of the tips. Got to the French lesson and was crying from laughter! You've got a new subscriber! 🤣🤣🤣
I mean...we'll all be happy when this pandemic is officially over, but yes, Rona is a one-stop shop for products for renovation, construction, and home decoration projects. They have everything we need for van conversions too. ;)
Well done, once again!!! The van kitchen looks might fine all thanks to Sylvain's knowledge and skills!! You are so fortunate to have Sylvain on board with the van build. Cheers and stay safe.
I always come late to the party. :( Been following you two for a while now. Thanks for sharing the new van build. It's been informative to me, even though I'm in a SUV. (No cabinets here. ;) You make me laugh, and of course, your relationship is inspiring. Not all couples can make it through vanlife. Thanks for sharing. Stay groovy!
Love your channel, musics you pick in the videos are awesome and match your general style of presenting (I did a few shazams :D) Greetings from la France :)
Having just consumed 17ish hours of Vanlife Sagas over the last few days. (I've broken my ankle, I've a lot of spare time sitting on my backside). Which is every uploaded video (liking them all of couse). I've a couple of (hopefully helpful) comments for Dom. (1) You've not done a video of your 2nd West US trip. (2) Your cinematography is awesome and often made up of epic drone shots, yet I've never heard you talk about drones or even mention them in your photography video. Any reason? Keep up the awesome work guys.
Haha, love the bullet point comments. Here are your answers my friend : 1) Nope. For some reason, the "normal" travel videos aren't that interesting to our audiences. We are guessing people like the vanlife stuff with our own van and adventures. 2) Thanks for that. Drones are fun but are getting complicated with the legal stuff. As we do everything to fly with very small drones in authorized areas, I don't like giving details on this part of the videography since laws got very strict here in the last few months. I probably won't be using it much anymore.
Hey, happy fathers day to your Dad .. and you soon, now that you will have the "Baby Cave" ;-) ... Another great video and getting closer to the finish line... I'm pretty sure there will be a lot of Vanessanessa sister's and brother's out there in the near future ;-) ( I'm taking a lot of note's :-) :-) See you next Sunday Mr. Dominic and regards to Marie
The French Lesson this week.... excellent, so many White Jeep driving Douches out there...lol and showers. Love the under mount sink, with the removable cutting board. Great use of space and extending the counter top that way! Coming along nicely.
WoW...looking so nice!!! Boy o boy do i wish i had ur Dad 2 help w my van!!! Both my Daddy's r in Heaven now so i have 2 do it myself n it does NOT look like that!!! My hack...IKEA 😂😂😂 Love u guys!! ✌💚
Gah! So sorry to hear about your dads....we know we are very lucky to still have ours around... And yes - IKEA for the win! They have great products for van conversions!
Great video as always! I don't fully understand how you guys waterproofed the hole for the sink. Are the sides now waterproof because you glued another piece of bamboo against it?
We didn’t explain it in the video. But we are glueing full pieces of bamboo because the interior of the counters is slatted. And then, we seal everything with silicone!
My dad is stronger than your dad because he once caught the chain holding an engine on a winch so it didn’t fall on someone. My dad was also in the military (army and airforce). Right now he is hanging board and baton on his new barn at the cottage. Happy building!
My Dad is the strongest cause he listens to all my shit. Then when he tells the story back, he tells a totally different story that was actually my siblings story. When u try convince him he is talking shit, he looks at u stunned like u are mental😂😂😂
Mistake #6: Speed. Not applying yellow stripes on the outside of your van for maximum propulsion and lift, which your father knows all about✈️ 👋Hello Mama and bee-you-ti-ful kitty cat!
Awesome video! Great content as always.I had a question about cabinet installation in a prior video. What is the jack tool used to hold the cabinets up?
I just installed a similar stove in my bus conversion. When I took it out for a drive grill and other parts on the cooktop bounced all over the place. Still trying to figure out how to best resolve this without having to take it apart when driving.
The alternative to removing the top parts is to install a cover that locks into the counter. We've done that for previous conversions and it worked well!
My Dad was stronger than your dad. He fell off the roof of a building he was building onto his back. After a few minutes, he said he was fine and didn’t need to see a doctor, so he got back up on the roof and finished it. (A 24 foot geodesic dome.) Years later, after an X-ray for something else, his doctor asked how he broke his back. When my dad told him he had never broken his back, the doctor showed him the old break on the X-ray. Yup, he built a building with a broken back. In addition, he was the father of 20 kids - 6 biological and 14 adopted. He was stronger than any man I’ve ever known.
My dad hunts bears using only a swiss army knife. You know, the ones that have a toothpick. He came home with a bear last year and we asked if he used the knife. He said no, the bear knocked the knife out of his hand but luckily he had the toothpick in his mouth.
@@vanlifesagas Pour avoir essayer les 2 modèles, je prédit que vous allez revenir au single toasts rapidement. Quitte à en acheter un 2e pour votre 2e rond lol
Hmm, the build costs some money, yes. But two things: 1- There are ways to build this for way cheaper, it all depends on your needs. 2- Dom and I work quite a lot for that money and we aren’t special in any way. We just work at it. We would say it’s accessible for everyone who is willing to pursue this kind of dream.
@@vanlifesagas You are very fortunate but no it's not accessible to everyone. When you live on $1000 a month and have no family that can offer support it's very hard to pursue that dream. I can't work to make more money so I'm living in a room of old trailer...my only electric is a 200 watt solar panel...I haul my water in gallon jugs...I cook on a propane Coleman stove and rely on a food bank to help with groceries. It's the only way I can save for a van which is my dream. I consider myself one of the lucky ones. I'm glad you guys are able to do what you do and I'm a subscriber but I was just saying that build, along with many others, is far out of the majority's reach. I watch different channels to get ideas
My father is more pedantic than yours. No-one else but my dad spends half an hour carefully laying potato chips in neat rows on the sandwich press so they all reheat perfectly evenly. (And I have the photo to prove it, although I don't think I can post it here?) 🙂
My dad is the strong...Oh wait he pretty much cheated on my mom, they separated and he payed the minimum child support until he didn't need to anymore sooo...Can I borrow someone else's dad for this day??
@@vanlifesagas Haha thanks! From everything I've seen in your videos they both seem like nymber one dads :) so I'm very thankful for borrowing them haha
My father is stronger than yours because: If our entire family is being chased by a pack of hungry wolves... he can still run the fastest. Mon père est plus fort que le tien parce que : Si toute notre famille est poursuivie par une meute de loups affamés... il peut toujours courir le plus vite.
