Bucky is not the worst for any singulat aspect, but that it combines so many things. 1) His effect is very safe: Ward and passive effect, so he can just chill and do nothing 2) Amount of good Floodborn: The discard doesn't really require changing gameplan with many floodborns going into your norma curve, like Robin Hood, Diablo, Beast, Flynn Rider, possibly even Jaffar and Aladin. 3) He hits board early: He is only 2-cost, whereas majority of cards that can deal with him are 5-cost or more (Be King Undisputed being far too unreliable with needing enemy to only have Bucky). So by then you've easily lost 2-3 cards, potentially even the one that would have dealt with him. That or you lost too much ink/tempo that you can't recover. Those all together make him oppressive while leaving you little to no counterplay. Just losing one aspect of those 3 would make him more balanced.

I feel like hiram is better than be prepared simply due to the fact that blue steel is a good deck meaning be prepared is both necessary for that card to work, while ramp is necessary for be prepared to work, insanely strong card but too expensive for me to put it in top 5 in the game

I agree that ideally there would be no ban list - and that any imbalances are addressed through an expanding card pool. I also agree with your takes on Be Prepared and A Whole New World. There is a skill level required to play these cards to your advantage but also they are really fun to try and play around as the opponent. The game would suffer without them. I personally don’t think Diablo warrants a mention on this list. It is a very powerful card but there are many counters. But there are a lot of cards that fall into this category. I disagree that these cards are all balanced though. The design of Queen’s Castle is a bit of a head scratcher. 2 lore, card draw, 7 willpower AND it is inkable is so far above the power level of any other location. If you’ve got the right board set up it can turn an even match-up to a one-sided affair. There are some counters but I personally don’t rate Avalanche as a particularly good one. It’s highly situational and having a 4 cost uninkable clogging up your hand when you’re facing a deck that isn’t played locations (e.g. the meta-topping Emerald Steel) feels horrible. Is it ban worthy? Despite being very strong, I don’t think it’s impactful enough to be ban worthy. But I wouldn’t consider the design to be particularly well balanced given it’s power level is head shoulders above any other location (given its cost, stats and effect). Bucky… this card does feel a little broken though. I’ve played Emerald Steel a lot to help my team play test for tournaments and I’m not sure I’ve lost a game when I got Bucky down. He is SO oppressive. You get two down - it’s game over. Like you said, GYS is a good counter, but Emerald has Ursula to discard it from your opponent’s hand. Plus GYS is uninkable and when you’re having to discard cards from your hand, you may end up having to discard it just so you have cards to ink. It’s not only an incredibly un-fun deck to play against, it’s not fun to pilot as your entire game plan is simply to not let your opponent play the game. I struggle to get my head around how they could give an early game character such a strong effect AND give him ward. The only saving grace is that you can only play four of him. When the deck doesn’t get Bucky down, Emerald Steel is so much easier to play against. In terms of misses on your list, I personally would go with Medusa over Bucky. Her effect hits something like 70% of characters (including many very powerful high cost cards) and removing an opponent’s character while you play one of your own is such a big tempo swing. She’s so good that many decks have migrated to less powerful 4 strength and above characters to mitigate. There are so many good cards that don’t see play because out of fear she’d simply get Medusa’d.

Diablo doesn't fit in that list imho. So many removal options for this guy. It's rating his only that high because of Bucky. Against Meta decks, I'm happy if I can draw 1 card with him because he normally doesn't stick that long. I think the 5th card should be one of the Amethyst Merlin/Mym package. Probable the Fox.

My wife mains the bucky deck. I'm so sick of the bucky deck... lol
