Yeah he did. But there's no much depth to him or the other add on characters. You can't even use them in the base game, their story expansions are about 20 min max if you're a turtle playing them, and overall they just didn't add that much. The only one that did was Batgirl since it has like a 2 hour story expansion AND the ability to play as her in challenge maps. On top of that those characters only have a couple of gadgets, nothing compared to Batman, putting them at a disadvantage on most maps.
@@DegenerateJay - The number one reason I bought that DLC is that Black Mask is my favorite Bat-rogue (ok, tied with Two-Face). After the soul rape that was Arkham:Origins for a Sionis fanboy like me, I thought that this DLC would be a way to make it up for us, and give Roman some development (since the comic storyline "Under the Hood" explored Black Mask & Red Hood's rivalry way better than the "Under the Red Hood" movie, in which he was cut from to add more Joker) but nope, nothing at all, and Roman dies crying/begging for his life after a lame boss fight in which he's just a thug with a bigger health bar. And now it seems like he will suck once again in the "Birds of Prey" movie, after a very disappointing showing in the (otherwise excellent) *Gotham* TV show. When will my dear Black Mask have a good showing outside the comic books realm? Origins started out sooo well, I love Joker but that reveal/twist really broke me back then...
With all of Origins' shortcomings, you'd have thought that Cold, Cold Heart would turn out to be some cheaply made, short, and boring DLC story, like the ones in Arkham Knight. Instead we got, in my opinion, the best DLC in the Arkham series. The story is a great version of the B:TAS episode, Heart of Ice, and it's so much fun to play. I especially loved fighting through Wayne Manor and using the XE suit. WB Montreal really knocked it out of the park.
@@Duhehejeh I never said it was bad, but it does have problems. The gameplay is some of the best in the series, but the gliding isn't good. The story is very predictable and not nearly as good as Asylum and City. Most of the DLC was lame. It can also be really buggy at times. However, this game has the best bosses in the series, aside from Mister Freeze from City, and the cutscenes are gorgeous. Again, I don't hate the game, but it does have problems.
Who the heck is Starro? I’m a passionate-casual Batman fan, I know what The Killing Joke is and Batgirl’s fate but most of the references they made in this video about Paris France and “night matter?” flew way over my head.
The best DLC for me was the Cold Cold Heart DLC for Arkham Origins. Followed by Harley Quinn's Revenge for City. Only DLC I liked for Knight was the Season of Infamy.
Knight was the first and only game I ever pre owned for the DLC... I was so hyped for the Red Hood DLC and then I was so disappointed when I played it and finished it in 2.50seconds
I agree. Then again my biggest regret was the fact that I bought the season pass day one and in reality I should have just waited and picked and chose the ones I wanted
The AR maps in Arkham Knight over Catwoman in City? She played throughout and was built around the main story, which was badass, and she had free play in the world AND could play in Challenge maps.
@@Seanmyers2000 huh I guess they must have added it on later as part of the full game. When I first played the game, it wasn't a separate piece or download
I absolutely agree, but more so the campaigns. I set out to 100% all the games, and I finished AA the other day (no campaigns in that one!) and now on AC. I'm fine with the individual maps bc I do enjoy them, but having to do them all again perfectly in only three tries is what pisses me off about it. I don't even remember if AK has campaigns, but I'm on AC rn and all I have left are campaigns and I'm dreading it.
1: Cold, Cold Heart 2: Harley Quinn’s Revenge 3: A Matter Of Family 4: The Ra’s Al Ghul One and the Killer Croc One 5: All Challenge Maps From All The Games
Really liked the new Batmobiles in Knight, particularly the Burton and 60s ones as they had great race tracks as well. Tumbler was good too, but the tracks had nothing to do with the films and would have liked to have seen an Asylum/City track for the original Arkham Batmobile or a ruined Metropolis with the BvS one, possibly with Superman fighting Zod in the background
Just a little thing tied into the riddles but I LOVE how you can see Asylum, City, Wayne Manor and even the Matter of Family Amusement Park while playing Knight, it's awesome
If you guys ever do any more of these top five lists, you could each have your own list, which could not only spark interesting debate as to why you put what you did where you did, but also increase the run time. So it would be interesting for the audience and be more favorable for the RU-vid algorithm. Win win
I don't know what it is about winter and the cold but I love settings in that climate and objects that play into it. The orange accents on a beefy Batsuit works well.
Personally my favorite of the short missions was a flip of a coin, I love the Arkham version of Robin and I was curious about what happened after the end of Arkham knight
The only thing I hate about Tim is his Arkham Knight outfit, I always swap it to the haired one, he looks so crappy bald like that. Unsalted cashew head
I think the joker dlc in Arkham aslyumn deserves to be an honorable mention as it was very fun to play as the joker it kept me coming back other than replaying the story
Basically agree. I might have moved the top three around a little. Still, Cold Cold Heart is an excellent choice for the 1 spot. The whole way that story opens is spectacular. For my personal number one though, I would have to give it to Arkham Knight with the extra villain missions, Mad Hatter, Ras Al Ghul, Killer Croc, and Mr. Freeze...if only for the dealing with multiple characters that were sorely missing from that game. Like seriousely Arkham Knight...what were you thinking? Those are easily some of the better and potentially more interesting villains across the games. Why in the F*** weren't they in the main game? Sure we got a few good ones like Proffessor Pyg...but we also got a crappy version of Firefly. If you have played through Arkham Origins then you know damn well it was completely underwhelming...
I don't see why everyone keeps comparing the two Fireflies. Origins used him as a story driven boss for a large scale main quest boss fight. In Knight hes just a side quest antagonist. Two separate studios using him in completely different ways.
The anticlimacticness of Knight's boss battles does make sense if you think about Batman not wanting to waste time and energy for all this BS, his adaptability when it comes to old villains, and said villains not changing tactics and methods at all (Deathstroke still wearing that old pressure vulnerable armor as in Origins is one notable example).
What i don't like for Mad Hatter is rocksteady never explained or had batman discover how Mad Hatter discovered Bruce/Batman are one in the same. Mad hatter knew enough to go to Wayne manor and use his hat to get Alfred to trick Bruce into injecting himself with nanites. + Mad Hatter never revealed his secret...why?! Another thing that doesn't make sence is. How did Mad Hatter know joker poisoned Batman? It's not just Mad Hatter who has unanswered questions.
One thing worth mentioning is in Harley Quinn’s Revenge in City, when I played it, I noticed a big change in Kevin Conroy’s voice acting when playing as Batman. He sounds so melancholy and almost defeated when he talks to himself because, at that time, he was wrestling with the fact that he, in a way, let Joker die (I know Joker stabbed him in the shoulder blah blah, but you know Batman would blame himself) But Conroy and the dev team did really well on that DLC.
The best DLC for me were definitely the ones in Arkham Knight. Not only can they be completed in less than 15 minutes but they also have such deep and interesting plots that keep you on the edge of your seat. I think the cat women was the best. One tedious stealth section and then a random robot fight. Rocksteady really blew it away with the DLCs in this game. My only complaint is that there should of been more DLC for the batmobile. The childish hide and go seek dlc with a giant scarecrow was so clever.
My personal favorite was red hoods DLC because even before Knight he was my favorite batfamily member and seeing them introduce Arkham Knight and him growing into Red hood was really cool for me.
When/if the next Batman game comes out, I’m playing through every games dlc in chronological order, from the assassins training maps in origins, the origins story all the way too the nightwing and red hood story. I want to experience all of the world and play through the life of the Batman. The beginning to the end. Who’s doing this?
Cold Cold Heart is my favourite but Harley Quinn’s Revenge is a close second. I loved the environment in the shipyard as you can feel Harley go into madness and it felt so eerie. The atmosphere and Harley was incredibly well done.
Never really bought DLC TBH but the Mr. Freeze stories are the best IMO> As a side, Harley Quinn should've totally been a main villain in Knight. The groundwork had already been laid in Arkham City!
Great list! Myself, I'm... 1) Season of Infamy 2) Catwoman in City 3) A Matter of Family 4) A Cold Cold Heart 5) Whatever DLC it was that gave me the Keaton outfit and mobile for Knight
From worst to best I’d say it’s (I also love the crime fighter challenge packs and the bat Mobile race tracks from the movies and tv shows they r genuinely rlly cool.) 5.Arkham knight: batgirl matter of family 4.Arkham city: Harley Quinn’s revenge 3.Arkham Knight: Season of infamy 2.Arkham origins: cold cold heart 1.Arkham city: catwoman dlc
Cold Cold heart is a great adaptation of the iconic BTAS episode. However the Batgirl DLC is is my favorite, cuz I love the character. I wish we get more stories in between origins and asylum.
I ADORED Matter of Family and wish we got a lot more like it. I think you guys put it well: it was nice to see someone in the Batfam doing something useful, which I feel as though was biggest downfall of Knight: the sidelining.
I still want a game set between Origins & Asylum that’s like a series of episodes where you can fight every villain in whatever order across the whole city so far. Both North & South Islands from City & Origins, All three islands from Knight, Arkham Island from Asylum & the land that links Arkham island and north island
Season of Infamy honestly deserved the first place,, due to how much content there was and how well it was inducted into the main story. I couldn't imagine playing through Arkham Knight without tbh. Whereas Batgirl is just 2 hours of side-content with no notable story. Just some predator-maps and a new playable character
Robin and Nightwing's as a sequel (1 year later) to Knight should have maybe made an appearence on the list and in mention to the races the 1966 and 2008 DLCs were awesome too
I 100% agree with what you said at the end! WB has no idea how much money they left on the table with the amount of dlc they could have released with these games! Release "episodes"
Degenerate Jay I appreciated the design I’m Knight as well! But I think it pales in comparison to Asylum especially. I remember an interview with a Rocksteady employee (maybe even Sefton Hill, I forget), where he was asked why Ivy’s design changed, and he said that one of the original storyboards for Knight was that Ivy sacrifices her life and became human instead of dying, so that her human design could more closet relate to her Ivy design. I thought that was an amazing concept and I wish that was kept in! Apparently they took it out for being too similar to X-men, where Mystique becomes human and is abandoned etc. But hey, beggars can’t be choosers. What are your thoughts?
I think part of it is that it had a rocky launch compared to everything else in the series (other than Knight on PC) but it's too bad people never played it after it got fixes.
I like DLC that totally immerses itself into the game. LIke Season of Infamy is good. But if they went the extra mile and had some dialouge between them and the other villains from the main game in the cells, now that would be great. Like ME3, with Javik and how he has so much custom dialoue with all the characters (though on the flip side, it could be argued he shouldn't be a DLC character at all and should have been part of the main game) I get the restraints about this. you would need the OG voice actors etc etc, but that extra immersion would be awesome.
I think that the Season of Infamy was a lot better than it’s given credit for. I thought that having the characters from the previous games as opposed to new characters was really sweet to tie up the stories and the lose ends. Killer Croc’s story became a really sympathetic character, which was a nice change. Me Freeze & Ra’s al Ghul we’re both fantastic. I’d have preferred a different villain instead of Mad Hatter (Maybe Bane or Deadshot, even someone from Origins like Copperhead). Just my thoughts, I think it gets too much hate
Look, I get what you mean about the racing tracks being dumb and all. I think some of them like the 89 ones really work. Mainly because I see them as just extra, like they didnt have to make race tracks for the Batmobile but they are there for extra use and i like that.
Despite how wrong they poorly portrayed Barbara before the Killing Joke in the animated movie, I can't help but feel the short did something partially true to her character. She wanted to be a cop like her dad and he wouldn't let her so instead she became a vigilante like Batman. Question is: did she do it because it was right or just for her self-satisfaction?
They need to make more games. They could do a intro to Dick becoming Robin and turning into nightwing. That would lead to Asylum. Then have a game about Jason becoming the second Robin then kill him at the end and give us a Red Hood game. That would lead into city then into knight. They could do so many more games with the villains and heros
Also, I'm going to mention the fact that in the Season of Infamy Ra's al Ghul mission a criogenic chamber in the hospital with the Talia Al Ghul nametag was empty, suggesting she being revived.
I really like the Harley Quinn DLC because well you get to play as robin and I really like the red and black Goons because that’s my favorite color combination
I have a question,I know this has nothing to do with the video but I have Arkam Knight on Xbox One and I bought the season pass, but I got a ps4 for Chrismas and I wanted to get some of the exclusive skins so should I buy Arkam Knight on the Ps4 and buy the season pass again?
I think the rumor of the next Batman game being a sequel to Origins with Dick as Robin would be fucking dope but I don’t think that’s likely at all at this point
Honestly I thought Harley Quinn's Revenge was really good in the fact that first it shows just how far shes gone without joker, shes still reeling from her loss and particularly shook up;more so than usual. Plus there's extra Harley TnA
My favorites, from worst to best: 5.) Harley Quinn's Revenge 4.) Catwoman Storyline in City 3.) Matter of Family 2.) Season of Infamy 1.) Cold, Cold Heart
Just finished rewatching y’alls playthrough’s of return to arkham asylum and city, do you guys still plan on playing origins and knight? Really wanna hear y’all’s commentary
I'm definitely interested in it, but since the let's plays themselves are one of the least popular things I do on the channel and sort of make it harder to grow the audience and bring new people in, what I'm waiting to do is start a dedicated let's play channel when I'm a little bigger.
Playing as the red hood in his dlc was so much fun but then the dlc is like 10 minutes long I mean, I understand it was only £2.50 but I'd be fine with paying more if it was longer
