I really like the way you review shoes. Especially Basketball Centric Shoes! And its true and I agree about the Harden Vol. 6 being the top 1 Outdoor Shoes! Here in Philippines we play outdoor basketball all year long and all of the shoes that I've tried so far this year my favorite is the Harden Vol. 6 and next is the Trae Young 1 which offers boost on their midsole. Your reviews really helped me to choose the proper shoes! Thanks Doc Zach!
I love playing the G.T. Jump cause the cushioning, impact protection & ankle support, but if I want something more responsive & low to the ground, I can always go back to my Kyrie's cause your feet & legs have to adapt to that bouncy Zoom setup, it's the most bouncy basketball shoe I ever worn
Bought the Harden vol 6 a week ago, so far it has preformed exceptionally well. I love the cushioning (i'm 90 kgs heavy). The grip has not let me down so far( i'm an athletic SG). The only gripe i have with this shoe so far is how quickly the upper gets dirty(i play outside mostly)
I tried the li Ning speed premium 8 - durability is great, but cushioning is weak compared to a similar $135 shoe (amazon price) - give me the kd14 all day.
Another great video, im not surprised by your #1 & #2 picks because both brands are famous for durability. For me, any basketball shoe must have great cushioning, stability, breathability and being good looking won't be hurt. But I would like to know which basketball shoes will translate well on the tennis court.
Considering how wide opened is that gigantic heel Zoom unit of GT Jump, I would think twice or even more about taking it outside. Especially with the pricing of those shoes
What hoop shoes should i get Characteristics: Wide Narrow Foot: i measured the vertical of my foot from the longest toe which is my index toe to the bottom (in the middle of 23 and 24cm) and measured my width of my foot which is (9cm close to 9 1/2) Playing: Outdoor Dusty Court Position: Shooting Guard My Size is 41 Euro, US 8 And of course budget friendly ty
I’m curious about what are the big differences between outdoor basketball shoes, tennis shoes and specifically Pickleball.. seems that the requirements are similar except maybe the jump movement. Really apreciate all your reviews
My harden 6 got worn down after 20 outdoor plays on asfalt. Otherwise very good shoes im just disappointed that the rubber isn’t as durable as you would think. I saw on Reddit a guy posted his sole pictures after 3 months with 70 kg and they were pretty ok. So I think it has something to do with my weight of 113 kg
Thank you myyy brothaaa a. Iive I Sudan, and we're always outdoors. Shoes in Sudan get ruined and torn so quickly here, so finding a durable, long lasting shoe is pretty difficult. But, I thankkk you so much. Will definitely look into it
Hey! l need your medical view in this topic. Do you recommend or think its ok to buy used shoes? Would replacing the insole deep cleaning and washing it with %95 alcohol be enough. Should l maybe replace the tongue. Or used shoes must be avoided at all costs because of fungus.
Love your amazing reviews doctor Zach!! You’re the GOAT of sneakers performance reviews!! By the way, do you have any idea when would luka 1 be available in the US?
Honorable mention, the lebron 19 low is a solid option but the rubber might wear down pretty quickly if you are a bigger player, but the full length air max unit really helps with impact protection and is really good for push off force
For me the LJ19 suffer too much on the durability side. Granted I play on very abrasive concrete but I don't think I have even clocked in 25 hours on them and the sole is almost completely worn out everywhere. Worn up to the foam in some places. They are very comfortable and perform great but that durability has been so bad in my experience
Ya the Harden 6 also has good forefoot cushion which you really need outdoor. I'm not sure how the traction would do but I think the cushion on the Adidas Dame 8 is great as well outdoors with that plush high stacked dual density bounce pro midsole.
Im still using my dame 5s in outdoors for almost 3years! The traction is slighly gone in the front but Its good in rest of the shoe! Still trying to find another similar shoe
Hi Dr Zach! Can you help me? I'm prefer Nike and Jordan so 1 year ago I bought Freak3 and at the forefoot is worned and cracked at the zoom pad (orange colorway, the yellow part really really thin). I use them only wednesdays and indoor! I'm 198cm and 85 kgs, I love dunk, and jump, and rebounding, so I'm looking for good durability tread shoes! I'm really sad about the Freak3, because I don't like low shoes, and it's higher than usual nowdays.
Hi Dr Zach, for a long time i was wondering about the fit between a signature shoe and the player wearing them. for example, in your review of the curry 9's you said they weren't recommended for players who tend to roll their ankles, or need more stability. we all know steph had issues with his ankle earlier in his career, so I really wonder, is this the best for him? or maybe pro athletes use orthotics and other gear , and don't rely on the shoe itself? i can think of other examples, like some models of KD, that were not what i would imagine for a 7 footer with foot and Achilles injuries...how do you see it?
Sometimes the sig vs the player exclusive is way different , sometimes it’s spot on- with curry he likes the minimalistic shoes for easy foot work but then he has to wear braces alll the time so imo it defeats the purpose-but also players look for really specific things from a shoe so it may have one really great characteristic that makes it for them
Hi Zack, big fan, there are new Yonex Eclipsion Shoes, now 4. Would you min give them a pro look and tell us what's your input about them. Planning to buy new shoes, my gel resolutions are baked thanks!!!
Hello, I recently started playing basketball outdoors and I am in need of basketball shoes. There is a store that is having a sale and was wanting to know if you could help me out on choosing the right shoe for the money. These prices are before tax: Harden vol 6 $74.99 Trae Young 1 $ 63 Jordan zoom separate $50 I live in the U.S. and the shoes are not EP. Thank you for your time.
They are a bit hot indeed, but they don't get uncomfortably hot, they just warm up a bit, it feels a tad bit cozy after a while. My recommendation if you cannot stand your feet to feel a bit warmer, or have athlete's foot is to get an aftermarket insert/ insole that has antibacterial and moisture wicking properties, plus the the insole that comes with these shoes is quite flimsy and cheap.
