I have nice copper flashings but they still use same crap rubber for the seal and it lasts 5 to 10 years in sun then falls apart so i put replacement boots on I can't believe nobody sells replacement silicone rubber replacement boots I got a bunch of replacement crap rubber seals and installed one into the copper and then put another over the top of it as a sun umbrella so the real one underneath seems to hold up now really well. almost went with replacing them with the expensive ones you showed but i like the look of the copper ones better.
I think my roof is 3-5 years old (the previous owner had it done) and an Oatey thermoplastic boot is leaking at the collar already. At least that vent pipe runs up from the garage for the water to have been visible to notice water running down it. The Ultimate Boot Pipe sounds like the best product for me although a solar panel is in front of the vent pipe so the Perma Boot may be the solution. I'll have to talk to my contractor about it.
don't buy the plastic garbage modular house came with them brand new in 2004 and I had to replace all 6 of them with metal after only 5 years and just put on a new roof and used new metal ones again
the rubber does go bad on seals anyway if in sun i stuck a second seal over the first and silicone caulked it down and it acts as a sun umbrella keeps the seal underneath from deteriorating.
@@ranger178 no the plastic part at the bottom cracked and warped . All of them failed . They were the same plastic ones they sell at lowes and Home Depot . I did manage to get the metal ones and even got the extra rubber seals for them
