That works well with the original vent pipe flashing's rubber boot is high so that water running from the roof will run into the dry rotted boot opening to the vent pipe. In my instance, I have a low vent pipe flashing with a boot that has broken down by weather/time. Putting one of these perma boot will not make it water tight with run off water going under the cover and running into the low "dam" to the boot. So in my case, the bottom shell needs to be sealed. Any other solutions for vent pipe flashing that has a low profile boot?

Can I use it on a 4 inch tube?

Pipe may be too long and have to cut.

ive been on about 10,000 roofs i have never seen a broken pipe boot unless a branch or something massive hit it.

I have one pipe 2 1/2 diameter and one 3 1/2...what sizes should I get to fit those???

Using this on a new roof would prevent the sun damage to a roof boot. However, using this on an old roof where the roof boot is cracked and dry isn't going to work.

You don't say how long pipe has to be.

I saw some videos where they put a roof caulk around the seams of the top and where it meets the roof. Is this needed if we are experiencing a leak?
