I don't understand why people hate on traxxas or the price in the comments. So many others are just as expensive. Sure you can build from scratch, use aftermarket parts to make it stronger or perform better. Some people simply don't care and just want to have fun, break it, and replace parts, and bash more, repeat. People never keep their glocks factory? Hondas? Muscle cars? Motorcycles? You're either an enthusiast, or not. Good info either way.
I’m surprised there is so much negativity from your viewers. At the end of the day all rc cars need some upgrades. It’s part of owning a rc, if you want to play hard you have to upgrade. Great video 😎
@@alankowalski8781 focusing on anything negative even if true is still negative. Yea it’s $800 but it still outperforms most any rtr truggy on the market. If your looking to send this rc or any other rc off the big ramps it’s going to need some upgrades.
Fantastic timing with this video. With the XRT that just got announced. I’ve been debating on getting that or saving a bit and getting one of these. But with all the upgrades. It would push this past the price of the XRT. So XRT it is.
@@RazorRC I mean that every YTer says so about so many cars and then upgrading it to the max and that is always about RTR. Why is there almost only Rtr videos? People who want the best should buy kits or roller. It's also sad to see that everyone rips of electronics, motor, servo... you paid for that and then pay double for a Castle Kit...
@@RazorRC sorry, then it hit the wrong person. In YT RC there is almost only RTR videos with those guys saying: the 1st thing I do is RIP the electronics and install better. That is BS, because A RTR electronics aren't that worse than other ( with Traxxas I have telemetry nearly for free) B why buy it in the 1st place? I did it the other way around. 20 years ago I bought a nitro kit and upgraded it. Last thing was a not cheap Spektrum DX3r and 2 years ago I bought 2 RTRs.
Wow this was like my slash upgrade. Most of the car was rpm or proline. Haha It's cool I like upgrading cars as much as driving them. Do this handle differently than kraton?
It runs amazing out of the box. These are just some sensible upgrades, which tend to occur over time...show me someone that's owned a basher for a year and not upgraded some bits and I'll show you someone that hardly even uses their basher.
With the total cost (upgrades and tax) being close to 1k, is there a truck/truggy you would recommend/prefer over the sledge at the same price point (based on fun/performance/durability)?
that's crazy! you spend at least 5 hundred to 1500 dollars on this cars and you probably have to put 50 to a couple hundred to make it better and fix the problems that's f en crazy
I don’t see why you didn’t take the avenue of saying build it from scratch with all upgraded parts? If it’s such a good RC, it shouldn’t need all those upgrades, especially for a $800 rig. If I really wanted a Sledge, I would just hit up Vitavon, and M2C, order their whole catalog, get the plastics off eBay, spend just a little more than what the truck costs, and have a truely beefed up rig. But at the same time I can’t justify the Sledge because I already have a built K6
No, because by the time you chop shop all of that, you could have had one built. And dealing with chop shopping your own rc just to build one, takes more time and money than what it’s worth.
@@alankowalski8781 what are you talking about, the only parts I mentioned in this video is the chassis and the diffs. that's all you would remove, the electronics are up to you, but 95% of the car would still be built because you literally need to keep 95% of the parts for the car to function. the chop shops literally make money by selling the parts to you for more than it costs in kit form, so obviously that is more expensive.
Top 5 upgrades and doesnt even mention the most common issue most people have which is tire quality. All of these upgrades are just for super hardcore bashers which make up like 0.1% of people buying rcs…
There's no way you should pay $800 for an RC car and have to upgrade it because it's garbage I'm sorry Traxxas is falling off there are way too many other brands out there that are cheaper and more reliable
And what do you run? That never breaks and never needed an upgraded part or something? I am very curious as i own 7 rcs and have yet to find one that didn't eventually need something.
@Kevin-qw8yp I run associated factory team kits. They come upgraded. Rtr's come cheap to save money for the added cost of tje junk electronics they put with it. I own 4 traxxas vehicles and they all are junk. I won't buy another one nor will I but rtr shit either
