I think this speaks volumes. Notice its not what we DO that we regret but what we DIDN'T do. A friend died a few years ago and he told me just before he passed his biggest regret was not going for a walk barefoot on the beach with a friend. He just never did it. Too busy. By the time he told me that, it was already too late.
That's just a bad way of looking at it, the man that just got his legs chopped off will always have regrets about something he can't do anymore, but the warrior that's in every one of us realizes that if you lose one weapon you find another..... The proper reaction is to know that when one door closes two open , maybe three.... There are people in this world that you could give $1000000 to and all they would do is complain how heavy it was.
I've studied in Europe, driven cross country, lived in various states, and have kept in touch with childhood friends. I had a great career, but my entire division got laid off. Education pays a lot less, but the shorter summer school hours make it possible to have three day weekends with friends. Money doesn't buy happiness, but it gives you peace of mind and allows you to have what is necessary for a safe, healthy existence.
My biggest regret in life is not doing much about leaving home after high school. Listening to people who had their own interests instead of mine is #2.
But when trying things out there is always the risk of regretting things or be thankfull for things. You are the only person who knows that because you know your own story right?
I think you have a point. I also think that we spend most of our time in things that don't matter at all. In the end we realize that and that's when we wish we could have done it differently.
I know right, motivational videos can be so stupid. have passion, go on vacations... see your friends... as if we have all the free time and money to do all this.
*it is that simple. Think about how much time you have in a day and record every second of it in your head. At the end of the day, you will realize u spent so much time on your phone, netflix and other crap*
Don’t ask how I know (lol), but not expressing feelings of love is most often not something to regret. If you didn’t do it because you were a shy teenager, you eventually found someone else. If you didn’t express those feelings as an adult, it was probably because it was the smart thing to do! Those feelings were for a coworker, a friend or family member’s partner, or you were already in a relationship. Expressing those feelings is the thing to regret, not holding them back. Or so I’ve been told.
Almost all the things you mentioned here require you to have economic stability. Of course people regret working too much, want more vacations, wish they had more time for family, but they have to make a living
Here's an idea. Don't regret! You're damned if you do, you're damned if you Don't! Regret is a paradox. Every action has Consequences good and bad. Regret is being ignorant of all the good an action/inaction has brought.
Yeah, I agree with this list, it's good but, traveling? Vacation? That takes A LOT of money, even cheap vacations take money, don't fool yourself. But I'm talking about going to other states, countries, etc. - the usual way we define vacations. Unless you're extremely frugal. However, taking a short day trip to another town you've never been to can be a lot of fun and it's more practical, not to mention takes way less money.
Most idiots are so caught up in wasting there money on what they call "Nice Things" (whatever the fk that is), that they are left without money to enjoy life. To them I say, on your deathbed, remember that cool cell phone you had 20 years ago, remember that car you boasted about, remember the expensive clothes you wore, and remember the family you never spent time with.
The only comment in this string that has the fucking needle on point! The short term possessions are something people obsess over way too much. When the end comes you're not going to care about your car, phone, Playstation, computer, house, or whatever material it is. What you will care about are the experiences you had. The ones which will always stick with you till your last breath. Don't get caught up with material shit. It's stays put when you die.
2 weeks of Holiday..wait a minute is this in USA ? There are over 40 days of holiday for people living and working in France,Germany, Sweden,Norway,Denmark....
Be happy now. It's a choice. You can never have enough of seeing. Maybe you've been to Paris. Was it spring? Was it Christmas? Then you missed something somewhere else!
I almost laughed out loud when he said two weeks isn't enough vacation a year. Capitalisms enslavement has taken over this country. I'm lucky if I get one long weekend vacation a year. We've voted for people who worship money over what's really important.
This is what we model. Try to "work our way up" for what??? To keep up with somebody um no thx. Live your life....take that vaca. Grab a groupon or rent a trailer/ rv. Live yo life....yolo
Last I checked enslavement was being forced to do a job for little or no pay. Remember, you have the opportunity to choose not to get a job and leech off the welfare system whenever you like, so there's no enslavement to it. If you want to live off welfare like communism wants you to do (better ask Russia, China, Zimbabwe, Cuba, the Visegrad 4 and a host of other countries how that went by the way) then, in a capitalist society, you are free to do so.
I loved the fact that when the narrator referred to "americans" (01:44), a fat and ugly couple were drawn. I just think that was a nice touch. Exquisite.
Wait is the thing with Americans true? I'm from Europe and I'm currently 19 and I've visited every European country except 4... With school, family and with friends, and not just Europe I've also been to Egypt, Japan, Canada, USA Australia...my dad is American and when he talks about his childhood he never mentioned this fact :/
"And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire." (REVELATION 20:12-15 NKJV) Today, while you are still alive and able, may you repent from your sins, believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that JESUS CHRIST is your Lord and Savior, so that through Him, your name will be written in the Book of Life. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever BELIEVES in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved." (JOHN 3:16-17 NKJV) ✝️ By God's GRACE, the gift of Salvation and Eternal Life is available to all. You can RECEIVE it. You can REJECT it. May you choose wisely...

Exactly! A lot of us simply have no chance to do even a fraction of what we would really want to do because we're forever stuck in a never ending work cycle.
My biggest regret. Giving my kids too much shit at the bequest of my wife just so they could keep up with the Jones’s. I could have quit working years ago if I had not spent all that money on them.
Takadatsu , l quit my office job at 39, to look after my 68yo mentally ill Schnizphrenic mother, whom can't walk at times due to Arthritis, now l get the Carer Allowance payment from Centrelink (Social Security), which was the same amount l got from working full-time. It short, l'm 41 now and l haven't regret it.
Sorry, but can you please make the vocal audio centered. It's panned a bit to the left and it annoys the living poop out of me. Thanks. -concerned fan. Edit: it's like that in all your videos, just so you know :)
I regret going to school & college. I regret not standing up to my teachers and telling them all to f&^k off. I regret not dropping out and running away from school. In a society where money is more important than human character, and you struggle day after day to feel adequate, death seems like a better way out.
I've heard a whisper that the company I work for are going to lay off a large percentage of our workforce in the near future in 1½ to 2 years time. I've only been there 12 years and although the thought of losing their job to some people is terrifying, I personally can't wait to finish. I'll be 51 years old then and I ain't going to find another job after I leave. I'll consider part time work if I find it, but I really don't give a shit about working anymore. Money sucks and I'm looking forward to an early retirement. You tend to think differently when you get older, I would have done it years ago if I didn't have a family to support.
This is one of the channels that gave me the courage to start my RU-vid channel 3 months ago about self development. Now I have 198 subs and almost 90 hours of watch time. I know it’s not comparable with others but I’m still proud I started because I’ve been learning so many lessons that I couldn’t have learned without getting started in the 1st place.
#1 0:02 not everyone has an opportunity to get an education because they are to busy trying to put food on the table or may not have the ability or opportunity to learn at higher education institutions to do what they really want, most people are to busy trying to make ends meet to do what they really want. #2 0:37 It's hard to get a long with family and people in general. #3 1:00 It hard to express true feelings because it makes you vulnerable. #4 1:19 People change, and they're paths in life change. #5 1:35 This day and age people are pushed so hard to be productive and constrictive that it's hard to find time for vacations. For some they don't have time or if they have time they don't have money, that's the problem.
Get away from the victim mentality my friend! Make a budget, save money, make a plan! We all struggle but that's what makes the rewards so much better in the end.
here in Norway, our workers have A LOT more vacations than the workers in the US. I have been to 20 countries, and im only 16, mostly because here in Norway, we have more holidays and such
There's no way to avoid having these regrets unless you're damn lucky. I can just imagine telling my boss, "I'm going to take a 6 week holiday this year." Right. I'm in America baby
There was a headspace ad before this video and I thought it was actually the video because of the animation. I was like, "Ooo this is different!" Haha!
