Pako and Halden have been such a fun budget deck, I found the decklist on Moxfield changed some cards around, kept the over all idea. Spent 30$ including shipping for 60 cards. And win at my LGS all the time.
Fun fact: while a lot of what Chulane does enables ETB effect spam, Bant colors makes for a great core set of Slivers without being 5 colors. Food for thought XD
For real, pako is a monster. Just build the deck with interaction, ramp, protection, and trample/unblockable, that's it. It is one of the most powerful budget decks you'll ever own. My best friend built him, and he can do toe to toe with actual cedh decks, no joke.
One I just built was Starscream, Power Hungry, haven't gotten to play it yet though - mono black makes the land base very easy, it's loaded up with draw synergies and also hurting people if they take the Monarch from you. Also a lot of multi target creature removal is cheap, getting consistent 3 for 1s while you draw extra cards puts you in solid positions. Queen Marchesa can pull this sort of deck off too, though 3 colour deck on a budget can be rough sometimes.
Lots of fun wipe shenanigans that care about powrr, and things that care about power to make your walls unblockable.. oh, and mass blink to draw lots of cards.
Talrand 1cmc cantrips and just really rotated through 10 blue shenanigans cards I felt like that week. One week polymorph effects and thicc blue beaters, another week Pickles lock. Or Teferi pool lock. Or just Aetherflux Reservoir.
Goreclaw, terror of Qal Sisma. Did it for my oldest kid who didn't appreciate it. Basically 4 power tribal. Dropping 2 4/4 for 4 mana in turn 4, that became the objective. Less than $80 including 4 cards above $10. Mono green been ignored is dangerous.
My Chulane is like a Venus fly trap a wall /flicker theme w/ a few indestructible fatties and arcades the strategist as my hidden commander. Plays like a simic draw machine that just starts exploding with toughness damage out of nowhere!
Pretty pushed commander, though, same as Chulane. Even on a budget, you should talk with your playgroup, if it's cool that you play those commanders. I imagine it's similar to trying to build Winota in a "casual" way.
I used to roll with an Atla Palani control deck back in the day. 12 creatures is all you need when the weakest of them is a Magmatic Force. 30 instants later, the table just wishes I was playing blue instead. Good times.
Built a $40 Minsc and Boo (the red/green planeswalker one) deck that i call "Hamster Fling". Throwing hamsters at people, which draws me cards and deals A LOT of burn, while also swinging with some big beaters has let me win turn 6-7 before.
Got Mirror Entity in my Atla Palani deck. When I need something new, just use X=0, wipe my board out and put hella Atla Palani death triggers on the stack for each thing that died with it, get a fresh set of creatures Big thing is getting a +1/+1 counter on AtlaPalani so it doesn’t die with everything else
I built a grunn the lonely kind deck. Had a ton of ramp, good equipment and decent sorceries to keep grun in the fight. Had a match where he had +50/+50 counters and one shot my opponent In total about £60 to build from scratch
So many picks here. Shrines are surprisingly budget if you Go-Shintai and build Constellation/Enchantress. Alela is usually played staxy but she's actually really really strong as an "anthem tribal" (run all the cheap anthems and all your creatures can get bigger than +20/+20 and Alela will give you a free flying creature whenever you play an anthem). Brago as a pure value engine rather than Stax as well... And Estrid, same thing... Kinnan, Sythis, & Winota for low budget CEDH-ish decks... I like to run Oloro as an Ajani's Pridemate and life trigger effects deck rather than pillow fort... Kenrith the Returned King is so versatile you could theoretically get away with only running ramp in the deck, maybe some cheap reusable protection, like paying 5 to reanimate Spore Frog for example, but you can go several budget directions with that anyways... Ashnod is a fun and quirky general that can get you insane value off Clues, Blood Tokens, Wayfarer's Bauble, Burnished Hart, & more -- Equip her with Toggo's Rocks and you have an engine where every time you play a land you can kill any 2 of your opponent's creatures on the board because Ashnod also has Deathtouch and Rocks equipped to her will deal lethal to 2 creatures... As someone who regularly plays, designs, and builds very budget decks, there's a lot of great fun stuff to choose from
Bane, Lord of Darkness. It was overlooked so many times BUT other (better) commander require specific cards to run and some of them can be expensive. Bane just cares that you play cards. I went with an Evoke theme
Niv Mizzet Reborn, 5 or 6 support artifacts, 36 lands, and every other card is a valid 2 color card, with at least 4 of each color pair, very modular, and I change up the spell to creature ratio to adjuat the play style. Started at $45, and I upgraded the landbase, so it is over 300 now, and almost nothing else changed.
Borborygmos Enraged, courtesy of a friend. Gimmicky combo deck based around cards like snake umbra and abundance. Always draw lands and use dictate of the Twin Gods to end it all. Did I also mention theres 56 lands in the deck?
I built a zaxara deck that runs two hydras... Everything else is control x counter spells and bounce and exile. Torment of hell fire. Can make infinite mana 3 different ways... It's fun to see my opponents worry when It goes to my turn and I just untap and pass
Shirei, dirt cheap (unplayable at more competetive tables, but very fun at casual ones), fill the whole deck up with etb and ltb/etg 1 to 2 drops, put in some support, done
My favourite is Rograkh and Tavesh, built on £50 budget is super fun to play and to play against and is very strong, also built Yisan on £50 budget and it’s insane but it’s not fun
Feather is probably my fav character in magic; where can I find your deck list? The money I save on the deck can be put towards a killer alter commission
With cards like Orcish lumberjacks, the spirit guides, green 1 drop ramp and pentad Prism my 40$build gets pako out t3 consistently and t2 30%of the time or so.
$40 Budgets EDH Deck That Can Kill Turn 4 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rPsmR3dFghk.html here’s the video deck tech in description looks like it’s $40 now but cut two cards and it’s $25 again 😊
I have the last Commander I want to do an egg Commander tribal deck but there's not enough eggs cards. And I think the creatures I would use that the eggs would bring out would be dragons and phoenixes but since there's not enough eggs I'm going to have to use some changelings. Any advice on how to build this deck on trying to do?
Why do you need a bunch of eggs? Instead you can get cards that duplicate the amount of egg tokens that she creates and then get a heckton creatures when they die. Especially if you have a way to sack your own stuff
@@DreammasterFTW Yeah so far I don't have an idea for the deck just yet. But why I decided to do the changelings is because they'll help with her effect cuz if I remember correctly changelings are considered all creature types so the also be considered eggs which will kick off her effect. And I would like to make it to where I can double the number of token she can bring out or even triple or however maybe she can do it one time so do you have any ideas on those?? And a friend of mine kind of challenge me not to use the same creatures that I always use for like the Heavy Hitters butt crack out of their eggs he wants me to use dragons and phoenixes so any good cards that I need to run to help make more egg tokens for her because I'm still going to do the changelings just for an added boost and what kind of dragons and phoenixes should I consider running?
Volo guide to monsters. I made him for $20 and he can keep up against way stronger decks. Doubling etbs and tokens of every creature gets out of hand fast
What kinda sac outlet do you use in Atla Palani? Obviously you're limited without black and on a budget. Good selections, except Chulane. He's just too easy and boring, but maybe that's just me. I'm honestly not sure which of my decks are the lowest budget, since I haven't built any decks without simply starting from my collection or a precon.... I guess the closer to the original precon, the most budget it is perhaps, but then again that can be a cheat and the cost I paid isn't sustainable for anyone to build it super budget now....
Except you're wrong. There's nothing wrong with EDH cause EDH is casual. What is correct though is that this is everything RIGHT with cEDH. Which is not casual lol
If you have issues with fast games then you know talk to your friends you play with and set a power level 😅 not to mention 4 player games one player kills someone and suddenly it's a 2v1
I’m debating throwing in unwinding clock because as long as you have 1 mana rock you could protect her every turn still just playing with the idea what do you think?
See that’s where I’m at with it haha probably better to just include storm kiln artist. I wish I played her more I love the design but the play pattern is kind of bad I’ll usually get the first person out super early and everyone’s like “welp we can’t let feather resolve again agreed?” And that poor dude watches a full game unfold when he died on turn 4-5
@@decktechsfordecks that's why I play her more spells linger combo style, stormklin goldspan, mirror wing, monastery mentor and as win conditions aria of flames, gutter snipe and all things alike, you draw with all your cantrip that draw cards and fish for something that makes you endless mana like goldspan or even brigi or runaway steam kin and go for the burn
I tried to build Karona, False God on a budget, sort of. Aside from 2 or 3 lands, the mana base was very cheap. The rest of the deck wasn't very budget.
