Good suggestion about Top of the Rock. I always forget that. BTW there is a version of the Flat Iron Building at 313 State Street in Perth Amboy, NJ. PATH to Newark- North Jersey Coast line to Perth Amboy. Walk east for maybe 8 blocks. My mission in life is to get you to get out of the city and tour NJ. It's a mission. Humor me

Had an amazing view of the Emipre State Building from our Hotel room when visiting, so checking out those lights quickly became a habit each night, but it really is a beautiful building and a beautiful sight to fall asleep and wake up to.
The Empire State Building is my favorite. I remember taking an elevator from the 86th floor to the 102nd floor a long time ago. My other favorite building is the RCA building (the old name) at Rockefeller Center Note: There's only 5 Mystery Boxes left now. I was the 5th person to buy one! Great video as always Thea 😎👍
Wonderful video as always! I feel like during my childhood (90s) the CitiCorp Center (the building with the slanted roof) was definitely a top tier iconic NYC building. It was so identified with NYC that the Pre-9/11 Manhattan Mini-Storage Logo had references to only 3 buildings... the top of the h was shaped like the Empire State Building, the two t's evoked the Twin Towers, and the left corner of the M was slanted in the style of the building. Its shape is so distinctive that if you search a NYC skyline silhouette, you'll almost always find it selected.
My favorite building in NYC is Seagram, one of the turning points in mid-century architecture. About the Chrysler Building...better take photos of it now. The new structure they will be raising up on the next block will obstruct it from many views. Buildings are just getting taller and taller. Looking forward to future videos...
The Empire State Building is The King of All Buildings, One WTC rose from the ashes and gave us hope, 270 Park Avenue behind One Vander built which is another skyscraper which topped out.
The Chrysler Building always reminds me of Spider-Man because the 90s Spider-Man cartoon made the top of the building the headquarters of the main bad guy, the Kingpin.
Would the Flatiron Building still be considered part of the skyline when you practically have to be standing right next to it to see it? Unfortunately if you're talking about the New York skyline, I think you have to discuss the Modern Trend of the super skinny skyscraper Apartments
as not an newyorkean i will ever associate the Chrysler, the Flatiron and the Empire State of course with New York... a shame that Flatiron is empty, there could be so much done with this one...
I am curious on how the credit card is handled at the turnstyles. My first transaction from Canada at about 22:00 wasn't processed by my bank at 05:00 next morning, but subsequent ones were almost instant. Does it just take authorizations avery time you tap and bill once at end of week for each individual transaction below that $34 limit? (my CC statement did have individual trips). Or does it check in real time if you credit card has already reached the limit and unlocks the gate without charging you if you have already reached the $34? In the later case, there needs to be some serious computing horsepower to handle all the transactions and unlock the fare gate instantly on such a vast network with so many passengers. @@UrbanCaffeine
The Chrysler Building looks like it's leaning West slightly and gonna fall on Grand Central Terminal/Lexington Ave. in real life. I'm a little nuts though.
