Grandes momentos que con los años cobran más sentido... Con mi viejo siempre hemos compartido el gusto por la música, cine y tenis. Ambos tocamos instrumentos (aprendí a tocar guitarra mirando cómo él lo hacía) y cantábamos en familia todos juntos. Jon do you know many words used by Chilean came from English slang? For example= turkey someone not too smart in Chilean pavo es para alguien tonto o poco listo es the same word in Spanish as turkey in English in English cock, Chilean le dicen GALLO a los hombres ( because is a vulgar word in English means masculine organ.) Kids in English is children, in Chilean is also children and they also say in Spanish cabros it´s the same meaning as English English Top Dogs, hombre importante en Chile mi perro, mi perrito se lo dicen a alguien que quieren mucho. In Chilean it's for someone important in their live in English chicken means coward in Chilean also le dicen gallina or chicken in English same in Chile means coward. In English Pig is someone dirty in Chilean is the same. cerdo or chancho for someone dirty. etc. Everything came for the English immigration that came to Chile last century. But there is also influence from other languages as well like in Italian when in Italian they say How are you? in Italian is... COMO STAI same in Chilean Como estai. There so many criticisms to the Chilean they way the talk that I don't like it because EVERY country has their own slang. Why then they talk about how the Chilean speak? Specially people from other countries. Why they don't realize that also they have their own slang?
